Dan Sites was a great inspiration to me along with Pushead, Mackie Osbourne (Social D Skeleton,D.I. Dog) and others. I started to do flyers for The Farm, On Broadway, and Berkeley Square. His flyers and album covers are LEGENDARY. From RKL to NOFX , his work just gets better and better. I want a Longest Line poster for sure, it's been my favorite. Thanks for everything Dan!
Danny Sites, a true icon who's art defined and captured an era. I grew up in SB in that time and lived that scene. Danny covered a van of mine with his artwork but true to PR form that vehicle got driven into the ground after just a few weeks on an ill-fated trip to a gig down in So Cal. I wish I had pix of that rig now. Thank you Danny for the fun and the memories.
Honestly, this episode hit hard. Dan was Such a huge influence in my art and to see him still grinding away knowing his fate is incredible. Much love Dan!
Holy shit what a rad dude. This was powerful. Goddamn Dan knows the end is so close and he’s so cool just chilling and reflecting and saying goodbye to old friends. This was really inspiring. A true puck rock legend. See you again in the cosmos Dan
This is epic and alot of fun to see. Nofx turned me on to so much great music. Well, pretty much a all of the music I listen to, and RKL is one of them. You guys deserve (almost) as much credit as Bad Religion and Fugazi for keeping punk relevant and making it about great songwriting. Props
This is great to see and really sad to see, I haven't seen Danny in years, I was best friends with Nick, I credit Danny for my punk rock life... I wish with you the best Danny. Yeah and the kid at GVCC did get skewered...
I've always loved RKL and Dan's art work. Such a huge influence on me growing up in the 80's. So glad that Dan has embraced his situation and opened up for us on this podcast. And what better format than with old friends like this. Very emotional ride, this one. I'll always wear my beanie tattoo with pride and have treasured my Rock & Roll Nightmare Comic Book all these years. Cheers!
I bought a Longest Line print. Danny es el mas Chingon de Arte! Thanks for putting that out! I would really like a copy of the 3rd version poster! Do it!
That new Longest Line art is incredible. Danny got waay better. Below is a list of everyone in the new art. Order begins top left and snakes left to right, right to left. So far I've been zeroed in on the three between Bruce Lee and the Dhali Lama; I think it goes Rosie the Riveter, Thomas Edison??, and Nikola Tesla. I don't think it's Edison so I'm gonna flip it to .25 speed and reassess. Oh! It's Steve Jobs, not Edison. The turkey vulture is a Dodo Bird and the monkey looks like an interpretation of Banksy's rats and graffiti. Between Monopoly Man and Tweedle D&D I think it might be an interpretation of the famous Tienamin Square photo of the lone guy blocking a bunch of tanks??, but the little guy with his back turned doesn't really fit that theory. And I totally recognize the baton-twirling woman with the huge hair but can't place her. Then that might be Jeff Goldblum from The Fly?? I think that's Where's Waldo behind Kang. That's definitely a Luchador between Tarantino and Frank Furter, but I don't know which one. Greta Thunberg is the one with the BBQ, gas can, and globe. Between Taxi Driver and Poe might be Bernie Madoff? The guy above Winehouse might be a Pope of some kind. The guy you have as Bin Laden is actually the Saudi Prince Sulman.
Jesus, Mike, he's saying all sorts of beautiful things at the end and you keep pestering him. Hahaha, ya dingus. I totally agree with him. Everyone should dose at least once. And he's spot on about not being afraid of death because of psychedelics. There's a bunch of research being done to study psychedelics' potential as a therapeutic drug for PTSD and End of Life situations. Pretty much anyone who's done shrooms or LSD is like, "Yeah, no shit. I already did the research and the science checks out." Anyhow, all my love to Dan and his friends & family. What a great guy with an awesome attitude.
Why did you stop this so abruptly? Shit, I was thoroughly enjoying that. Unless he died right there, can we get pt.2? Chris was just starting to open up and Dan was talking about the cosmos... C'mon.
The audio version has a proper intro. They talk about his health and also about some cover art he made. I was hoping I would see it here. Why did you cut it?

Danny's a great artist... condolences
R.k.l is one of the biggest influences in my music. And a huge part of that band was Danny's art. This is a very important show. Thanks fatty & danny.
Also want to add that I've been a long time RKL fan, great band.
