I absolutely LOVE your videos. You make everything look so easy, and when you give it a try, step by step, it IS easy! You are not only VERY clear in your directions, but you also show us how not only to click on each of the tools but you also show us how to use keyboard shortcuts too making the work go so quickly! You have even taught me to use some actions that I have purchased but was having trouble with because the steps were very unclear. Using your steps for other types of artwork, I have learned to use the actions I purchased as well as your stuff. And some of the stuff I have bought I wish now I hadn't! I could have simply learned a lot of it here and recorded my own actions! Thank you so much for making these! It is MUCH appreciated by those of us that are trying to learn how to do more in Photoshop! I wish more people would take the time to let you know what a great thing you are doing here!
Great Tutorial as always. It was really good to see you as a person finally. And, did i mention you sound better than male version of Siri.. or Siri itself. :)
Marty, use of Control-Click on the RGB channel at 4:32 in the video no longer seems to work in Photoshop 2007.0.1so I can not make a selection of the dot pattern in that manner. So, I used "Select / Color Range " and used that to create a layer mask. However, the area between the circles is white not black. Inverting the selection did not fix this.
teacher i have a question Today i had a homework and i had to combine two photos. the photo was a mini-me in my hand, but i didn't liked the shadows that i maked, it did'n seem real. there is already a tutoriales about making realistic shadows?
Using the crop tool this way in Photoshop v5.5 gave me "scratch disk full" errors, so instead I created a new document with the dimensions mentioned and pasted my image and resized it in there.
Be sure the dimensions for the crop image are in pixels (px) and not inches (in). This error usually happen when that small detail is not seen. I hope this help. Thanks.
The only two options I have are Pixels/inch or Pixels/cm and I had chosen pixels/inch I have 37GB free on my SSD with 8 GB of RAM with at least 4GB dedicated to Photoshop.
Plz help me how to number the colors in the mosaic portrait because i want to print it and make my own Diamond art with glowing the diamonds on the pic According to the numbers of the colors
Is there a way to have random patterns instead of dots? I'd like to create a mosaic tile table using a photo by breaking the tiles to the sizes of the random pattern.
Como podría hacer un cuadro de la última cena del tamaño de 130x70 centímetros . En Photoshop puntillismo en piedras de Murano? Y explicado en español y en qué clase de tela lo montarla? muchas gracias por su colaboración.
Lo siento. No entiendo tu pregunta.
How would you make the circles smaller my image is a bit less detailed than yours and it appears blurry when added the effects. Or is there another way to fix this?
Does anyone know if the colours of each 'dot' can be exported and recorded as an RGB value or similar? I would like to be able to use colouring pencils in place of the dots to create a 3D picture / pencil piece.
Man you are so good with photoshop! please make yourself a new youtube banner. I'm not saying it's bad but with your talent you can make a much better one. This one does not reflect your skills!!!
While the directions seem clear, I have no clue as to what some of the setting are and what they mean. Just one example: "choke". What is it, what does it do? Obviously I am new. I was completely lost after 1 minute.
Thank you for your comment. Sorry that you were lost after 1 minute. You may find the style of other tutors more to your liking. The reasons I don't explain every step is essentially two-fold: 1) The length of my tutorials would be triple or quadruple, and 2) Explaining every step would bore the heck out of most my viewers.
Thanks for your suggestion. That style is more illustrative and requires days to complete. There are no filters in Photoshop that can replicate that level of detail, so it isn't a good candidate for a tutorial, but thanks, anyway. :-)

So, I used "Select / Color Range " and used that to create a layer mask. However, the area between the circles is white not black. Inverting the selection did not fix this.
I then added a black fill layer below the image. This added back the black between the dots that the color range mask did not create.
I'm your biggest fan
Awesome!

At 1:20 in the video, I specifically mention that it should be "pixels". I even underlined it.
The only two options I have are Pixels/inch or Pixels/cm and I had chosen pixels/inch I have 37GB free on my SSD with 8 GB of RAM with at least 4GB dedicated to Photoshop.
Just type px beside 1500.
Plz help me how to number the colors in the mosaic portrait because i want to print it and make my own Diamond art with glowing the diamonds on the pic According to the numbers of the colors
Just wondering, can this be done in Photoshop Elements?
Sorry, I don't know. I've never worked in Elements.
anyway of doing this but a brick layer effect?
Is there a way to have random patterns instead of dots? I'd like to create a mosaic tile table using a photo by breaking the tiles to the sizes of the random pattern.
PS is unable to create random patterns at this point.

How would you make the circles smaller my image is a bit less detailed than yours and it appears blurry when added the effects. Or is there another way to fix this?
Pixellate it using a smaller amount and match the size of the dot to that amount.
Does anyone know if the colours of each 'dot' can be exported and recorded as an RGB value or similar?
I would like to be able to use colouring pencils in place of the dots to create a 3D picture / pencil piece.
My final result gets better without the pixalate mosaic filter. What that filter is needed?
It averages the color and tone of your subject within each mosaic square.
wow!!

I understand your position. For beginners like me, it is easy to get list. Otherwise, the video would be clear to a more experienced person.
you might be the Photoshop Assintant XD
Can you make a tutorial on Digital Circlism by Ben Heine ? thank you
Thanks for your suggestion. That style is more illustrative and requires days to complete. There are no filters in Photoshop that can replicate that level of detail, so it isn't a good candidate for a tutorial, but thanks, anyway. :-)
3:06 how to tell which resolution my cell has? if it's 21px for example?
Go to 1:25 in the video.
Hi Marty.. Can you pls show us how to design an album cover like ZARA LARSSON'S LUSH LIFE pls?
You can apply some of the techniques that I used in: ruclips.net/video/DrfD5-FxNkg/видео.html
Blue Lightning TV Photoshop But Marty the Album cover is completely different you see..
