- The last two years of Counter-Strike have seen one of the most unique rivalries in esports: the Danish powerhouse Astralis versus the Great American Hope, Team Liquid.

The match-up between them was the defining battleground of nearly two years of CSGO. In 2018, Team Liquid were perennial runners-up, and yet when they hit a new peak in 2019 and looked prepared to finally dethrone Astralis, the Danes seemingly abdicated, missing key events during Liquid’s own dominant run.

This video is so poorly made, I can tell that whoever made this video didn't do their research at all. You mentioned that the only time Liquid defeated Astralis was in a best of 1 in the FACEIT Major, yet it shows a clip of them 2-1ing Astralis in a completely different tournament. You mention that Kaerbye was replaced when in reality he stepped down himself. When talking about Liquid's dominant, you mentioned that they were winning trophies left, right and center, when really Sydney was their first big T1 win. You mentioned that they didn't defeat Astralis during their run, but actually they did in ESL Pro League S9, where Liquid actually won the event. Alot of the clips feel misplaced, showing a different roster then showing them in a different tournament with another roster.The sounds in the clips felt unsynced, although this might be done to avoid copyright. I can tell that the voice behind this has no actual idea about Counter Strike, hes just reading off a script that was given by him from someone that didn't do their research, I can't blame him. Please, if you're going to talk about a game like CS where the fanbase is so intense and where the competition is so amazing, atleast show enough respect to where you can provide the right amount of research. Same goes with your other videos, There was a video about KennyS a few days ago. That video has alot of flaws aswell.

Astralis : literally had like a 31 win streak on Nuke and were untouchable on it.
One thing you maybe could have added is I think one of the reasons Astralis took a break and didn't play as much is because dupreehs dad sadly died, which was right after a Major win. They rely on their teamwork so heavily that just one player putting CS second and having something like that on their mind meant a break was a good strategy. You could tell they were at like 50% or less during the Blastralis meme days.
They're just so damn good and I think they'll still win the next Major. They have the best clutcher/best gamesense player, the best IGL, the most consistent AWPer ever (players which can often but nutty but soooo inconsistent), and two of the best entry fraggers in Magisk and Dupreeh (who is also insane as secondary AWP), and Zonic who won the E-sports coach of the year, all from Denmark. No other team has such defined roles with stand outs in all those categories. They're not just great aimers thrown together with sort of inconsistent roles, which is how I see Liquid. I honestly think if you changed that Astralis roster at all and did a Faze with star players like adding simple or zywoo they wouldn't have been as consistently good.

Kjaerbye left in feb 2018, and they scrambled to find a player in Magisk. And at 3:27, they took the a site on overpass and they did have to fire bullets

Liquid, and especially nitr0 and EliGe, have some huge mental block against Astralis where they just can't beat them
@Pulzanicus pulzanic not for the bigger part of 2019, the first map liquid played against astralis since becoming the best was clear they weren't fully over them yet, that overpass game they were afraid to lose so they did, while liquid won the series, that was closer than it should've been, and the game at the major, liquid crumbled under pressure since they know the majors are astralis' ground and they have a mental edge over everyone in them
I love how people blame valve of aug meta. The gun was always that good, pros just refused to use it because even at highest level of the game, "eww, that's a noob weapon" type thinking dominates

I think we were too quick the throw away teams like. When a team is doing good everyone is hype and In the comments about how good they are and how strong they look. Then when they do bad everyone is saying oh that team? “They are dogshit” why can’t we be more positive about this. The players inside the teams are players too.

I'd argue its because the rivalry is largely manufactured and Liquid was just the "second best" team for a while. Everyone wanted there to be this large rivalry but at their best Liquid would never beat Astralis regularly.

I love the fact that this video totally disregarded the fact that Liquid choked against ENCE in katowice and still the video talks about choking like it was a thing of the past.
I think it’s because Astralis is just so dominant against everyone, not just Liquid. Astralis has had their ups and downs(downs as in they drop to like number 2 on HLTV lmao) but when push comes to shove they always kick it into that next gear that no other team has. When they play liquid they know it’s arguably the best mechanically gifted ever and they know they need to focus up and try their hardest, that is why I believe they always beat Liquid, they know they need to kick it into the next gear.

I love Liquid and Astralis to death but with how Liquid look today with Road to Rio, honestly just looks like their throwing. It's what happens when you keep playing valorant and I'm really disappointed we can't get amazing games vs these two juggernauts.

I feel like alot of people forget how dominant these 2 teams were in 2018 and 2019. While their recent performances aren't as dominant as they use to be they are still considered top 5 CSGO teams. It's a different meta and tactics change. They are still the best CSGO rosters in history. Whether you see Astralis domination or Team Liquid undeniable dominance in 2019. People will still love the match ups.

iirc back when he first joined he was usually put in spots expected to get a high rate of potential multikills - his spray & transfers were def an important element of his signing, maybe glaive'd just be happy to have a turret instead at first, but now he's a lot more & it's been cool seeing that evolution in his play & how they use his skills.
