It's always so interesting to see American housing. Cause it's so different to the houses I'm familiar with. It just baffles me how you can have a house literally made of some wood and drywall and have it be so insanely expensive.
Lool right. We have concrete houses and they're cheaper than an American home but we're considered third world because of a combination of a bunch of other things .
america is a scam. i work in mortgage and the only house i can afford to live in (barely btw) is filled with mold that i am very allergic to & my health has taken a decline. housing shouldn’t be this expensive.
the price that goes into is also the value of the land, average price range for that area which varies WILDLY across america, and the price of the labour that went into rather than just the price of materials if that helps it make more sense :) but still i also always used to wondered why if its just wood and some dry wall 😂
@@AudreyNotHepburn true, I sometimes forget about the land aspect because I'm like "well America is huge, land is not scarce" but if you want to be in any way close to some bigger city it ramps up the price very quickly

Kayla does have a very high yearly salary though so I doubt it would be too challenging for her to afford.

As someone who cleaned residential houses for a few years, definitely research what products to use on certain surfaces! The sealant on glass showers and granite counters can be eaten away by some of the most unsuspecting products. And once that seal is gone, it’s extremely hard to keep up with.
Seeing all the tall and wide doors makes me think she has the walls on the tallest settings lol! So excited to see more Reno of your new place simsie.

if you're getting a custom shower the rainwater showerhead is the best thing ever; I highly recommend it.
@Bethany Platt it really is, when I went to Mexico for the first time the resort had it in their showers and I loved it. My dad renovated my bathroom and installed it and it's the best thing ever, I'd never go back to a regular shower head.
Eh, I have an extra-wide showerhead that is also a wand and has a magnetic connection to its base. It does do a rain setting, but also five others. Much more versatile. The connection is especially great because I'm short and I don't have to go on tiptoes on a wet surface to put it back up when I've been using it in wand mode.

The flooring is different heights because they didn’t take into note the underlying and thickness of materials. Having one continuous flooring threw out will be much easier and will put the pricing up for re-sale later on.
The flickering light could be lose wiring and you should check that before doing anything.
I’m going threw a bathroom remodel as well. It’s all a learning curb. Wishing you all the best!

If you do the bath rub diagonal it would need a be more of a whirlpool style bathtub id assume because thats how they make their tubs. Is to be a bit wider(spa style) and diagonal. I’m actually currently enrolled in an interior design course online and would love to be able to come up with some Floorplan ideas for you! I know you have lots of ideas in mind already - I think it would be a cool addition to add to my portfolio and just so much fun as well. I can’t wait to see more of what you are working on!

ALTHOUGH may i recommend (if you feel comfortable) doing a shell challenge with the layout?? it'd be so much fun to see other peoples' design ideas and might give you some clues yourself! you could even delete some rooms you might feel like are too revealing. congrats simsie and dan on the awesome new place!

This is crazy and amazing. Kayla is my age and living the dream. It shows me that it is possible to be a homeowner at my age and in this economy. I expected to not be able to ever own property, but maybe it is possible. Also, I'm so hyped to see the renovations!! I can't wait to see how it looks. I would love to see your ideas in the sims for the Kitchen. Also, Kayla, you should consider adding cat shelves on the walls since you're a homeowner! That way Snap can have vertical space.

This is so cute!! I did the same when we bought our duplex. Made calculations on the square metre compared to grid. Cus its a new building I did it to visualize. We bought in 2019.. maybe after summer we move. Corona got everything so so delayed 😫. Anyway! Congratulations and I hope all goes smooth with constructions!
