@@caponuts That's a horse strat (freeze it, when it defrosts, mount it and hammer soothe). Stops them bolting on you when you need one for a speed run.
Yeah I have no idea why he went and bashed his face against it in very risky locations, too. Side fin flapping at you as it rights itself can hit you, same with the tail as it's waking up (as crow learnt first-hand). Ant's setup for ranged combat would have worked even better if he used the Lynel bow he got from the coliseum Lynel, and was also something that Crow didn't have because he went to the castle (without having the layout memorized, which is super risky).
@@KainYusanagi red lynel bow does 3X10 forest dweller does 3X15 so nope his choice of bow was the right one. And considering the fact that you can pick up a royal bow or royal guard bow which deals 38 and 50 damage respectively which doubles on a crit on the belly of the molduga. Also while molduga does take bomb damage they are immune to elemental effects and bomb damage is nerfed on multi hit bow you'll usually get a higher amount of damage from a single shot bow instead of your red lynel bow and from a royal guard instead of a forest dweller. A well exploited hyrule castle is much less of a risk since he could leggit just prep himself better for the rest of the challenge just by going to zelda's room which is easily accessible and has a royal guard bow in it. But I guess it is like the fact that he didn't prep stamina food to glide over the deers and kept chasing after them. Anyway if you want to learn how multihit and secondary effects work look it here: ruclips.net/video/4Eh9OyucL94/видео.html
@@corsicasanova Hmm, I distinctly remember the Lynel Bow having a strength of 14x3, years ago when I played BotW like a madman, and Zeldapedia confirms it, but rewatching the vid it shows it's only a 10x3. When was it nerfed? Additionally, the entirety of Forest Dweller's section was a massive amount of time spent just to get a slightly better physical damage component, though it is more than what it was when I last played. Bomb damage is nerfed per bomblet, yes, from 40 to 24, but even with the nerf to how many explosions can affect a single target dropping it the potential damage output from 72 to 48 (which really is crappy), it's not such a great damage loss that it's worth noting over the time spent to get the other bow. The bomb explosion also doesn't factor in the bow's power, meaning that the difference between Forest Dweller and the Lynel bows are not really a factor when we're talking *overall completion speed*. I was also referring to how Crow would have qualified for the "Lynel" equipment and still gotten a more than passable multi-shot bow with ease, that would have done more damage than the single-shot bow he was using, by using Ant's setup. The Savage Lynel Shield from the castle does give him a strong shield and qualifies for Lynel Gear, sure, but it's just a shield. He didn't have the layout memorized and wasted quite a bit of time in there, as well, and as we saw, attempted to go for a much riskier melee kill strat while also being super-greedy and not moving away from it in time for its wiggling about that can hurt you.
@@KainYusanagi forest dweller also helped a lot when taking down the lynel before the molduga since it helps getting the knockdown and is sort of on the way. Also I got red lynel since release and I always recalled it doing 3X10 so either my memory are flawed or you were thinking of a superior grade of it. (Then again did a few master mode run recently so they might have rewritten it?) Bomb damage is actually nerfed from 50 to 24 and considering belly shots deals double and the base damage of 50 (royal guard) improve overall by 10 it compensate. My point was just that just running around in hyrule castle versus facing a lynel isn't a bad trade-off and that you can get better weapons for it (wasn't done in this case). Even with some dumb death in the castle he still got his lynel equipment before small ants if I recall correctly (currently on phone yt can't check while typing). But yeah crow strat was all over the place but I think that was a side effect of raiding the armory and thinking he had good melee weapons instead of abusing bow slow-mo like ants did.
@@corsicasanova No, bomb arrow explosion damage is 40 base, not 50; so long as you hit with two arrows' explosions, they do more damage with a multishot bow than with a non-multishot, with bomb arrows... Unless THAT got changed too? Wouldn't make much sense for them to nerf one of the only real reasons to use the multishot bows, though, unless itwas done to make people more willing to use single-shot bows for other uses? Either way, the physical damage component is separate and doesn't get scaled at all, so is a valid difference there, but Crow also never really bothered to go for a belly focus and just went for whatever was closest at hand (as did Ant, TBF), so that point is mostly moot for direct comparison; completely valid for a, "would have made it go faster" argument, though. I'll never agree with Forest Dweller being "on the way", though, since you have to go so far out of your way to get into the forest, go through the challenge to get it, and then leave. Any bow, even a simple boko bow, works just fine for getting the knockdown; spreadshots don't help with that at all.
Ant has such random bits of BotW knowledge that a speedrunner wouldn't know. Definitely shows that the challenge runner and the speed runner have different skillsets

I kinda wanna see more of these, but I think it might be more interesting to do two bingos on the same board simultaneously for the win. Whenever I fight a Molduga I use Ice arrows because my mind thinks that ice is super effective against ground.
Legit when he was using lightning arrows I was like, "but it's a GROUND type!" 😂
lol
Neither of them attacked his weak spot at the belly I was very confused
IlSharmouta isn't the weak point the eye/head? Can't really remember though cuz I haven't fought one in a while.

Then there's Smallant.

I wish this rivalry will comeback to compete again in Totk without toxic fans
yeah it is really fucked up that their friendship was ruined by toxic fans
This is so wholesome. Of course there's a rivalry, but there's respect and affection in it. Love it.

@@KeyInsignia Basically PC was constantly getting told about how he was a trash copycat of smant (I don't think this). It got to the point where there was a disagreement, feelings hurt, and an accidental non-crediting for an idea that led to PC just saying that they shouldn't make content together anymore. Both sides had reasons to end it and it was neither of their fault. It was a mix of a bunch of stuff and it is what it is.
edit: If you read some of these comments, you can clearly see some of the things smant fans were saying to PC. They would make anyone upset.
I like how ant isnt disrespectful about it, its like a silent ‘I told you so’
Except killing that crow just to disrespect.

The best thing about this stream was constantly watching crow die over and over. It was hilarious seeing both their reactions
I kinda wanna see more of these, but I think it might be more interesting to do two bingos on the same board simultaneously for the win. That way it opens up more variety in routing and you get to decide whether you want to cross to take advantage of only needing to fulfill 9 objectives or if there's a combo of 10 that would be faster.
This could also be called: smallant lays the biggest smackdown even given to pointcrow.
Did smallant really just put on a different recording and expect us to think that he was talking to another human being? Nice try
??

Crow never technically killed the Lynel, the ancient arrows transports them into a different dimention, that's why you don't get any loot
