I want to say THANK YOU to all of our RUclips friends & family for your prayers & support over the last year that we battled with the military C-19 jab mandate drama. There were many uncertainties, a lot of stress & sleepless nights. But from the get go, we knew in our hearts what was right for our family & we never wavered from that decision even if that meant losing Joe's well-deserved pension after 20 yrs of service. The mandate was recently rescinded by the DOD, and we were allowed to retire with an honorable discharge & full benefits. God is good. Truth always comes to the light. You must stand for something or you'll fall for anything. PERIOD. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Thankfully, he refused the jab and was able to keep working despite what the medical community was doing to sabotage the caretakers.

Just watched your video and as a fellow Alaskan I have to tell you that you totally cracked me up with the moose. That moose was so far away and not interested in you guys, maybe curious after seeing you walk by so many times. I understand your fear though, we have all been there when we first begin to encounter them but trust me, after a year or two of these encounters, you'll become a pro. I live in Anchorage up on the hillside and we have "regular neighborhood" moose that hang around a lot. We have a mama moose that gives birth in our neighbors yard every year and then brings the babies over to our yard to eat and sleep. They'll disappear for months then show up again and then the babies will continue to come back to our yard to sleep and eat. We've gotten to where we recognize the same ones and they are so used to us that they don't find us a threat. The first year we were in this house we got overly excited because this one moose was next to our car walking away down the driveway and we cracked the door open and said "hello there Mr. Moosey" and to our surprise it turned around and jogged up to our door. We (mistakingly) got some carrots and fed it and it took them right out of our hands then proceeded to walk up the stairs and tried to come in the front door. It was a juvenile about a year or two old and was small but still, we realized we made a HUGE mistake making friends with it. He still comes back every year and looks in our front window but we don't feed him. Now he's massive and we didn't see him this past year so he probably went further into the hills. Anyhow, we have a huge respect for how dangerous they can be but have learned their body language and behavior. The time to be the most cautious is in the spring and the mama moose with babies, they are extremely protective of their babies. Give them their space and keep an eye on them but as long as they don't feel threatened they will pretty much ignore you. Loud noises usually chase them off, if you shoot your gun into the air if one gets too close that should do the trick. Anyhow, just always check around before going anywhere and always be aware of your surroundings and you guys will do fine. ❤️🙏

And they were shocked by it being 8 hours. I’m like we do school for our few hours a day and then you have free time to do whatever. Play, read, go outside, learning to cook and other life skills. They will never know what public school was like for me and I’m glad about that. Maybe someday they will understand a bit more but we have so much more freedom by homeschooling, it’s great!

So admire your path in life! We did 22 years in U.S.M.C and 15 years post retirement with US Border Patrol. Always wanted to retire in Michigans Upper Peninsula which has large tracts of sheer remoteness, but with 3 girls I guess life got in the way. Your family is actually living our dream and it is very enjoyable watching you get settled in. As for the moose, it’s not uncommon for a chainsaw to bring in game animals as they know once you leave, the tree tops will provide them with quality “ browse” to munch on, had the same experience with deer. Still plan on purchasing remote land up north but only as a “getaway” destination as the ladies could never give up their suburban lifestyle. Congratulations on retirement, I remember (90 days terminal leave) being at your exact same excitement level when we all got our I.D cards at Selfridge A.N.G.B ! Keep the videos rolling, looking forward to a northern Pike fishing/cooking video!!!!!

Thank You (both) for your service to keep us safe!!! Coastie’s ROCK!!! I noticed when Joe plows that the snow falls off to the sides. From another Alaska RUclips (Simple Living Alaska), he mounted some side pieces to the plow to direct the snow to the center and it lessens the snow that falls to the sides. Just a thought!! Everything is looking GREAT!!!!!

I watched so many videos about animals coming over and being friends, bears, even wild rooster.... And you put the sourdough bread out for others to share. They know kind, loving hearts. Many blessings of love 🙏

We had a young bull in our front yard this morning.😊. He or a cow and calf are in our yard pretty frequently. We are all used to checking for moose before going out in the yard or letting our dogs out. The bushes by my porch were trimmed by the bull this morning. They’ve been pretty chill in this deep snow and even when yelled at they don’t tend to move. I always enjoy seeing them as long as they’re not being ornery.

Thank you for going through the Toups & co. Products and make up. I have Ben using Savvy minerals by Young Living since they introduced it several years ago. They will no longer be producing make up so now I am on the lookout for something else. I don’t wear make up often but when I do I want something non toxic and good for my skin. Going to give toups and Co a try.

When the snow is deep like that the Moose prefer the plowed areas because it's easier to get around... I have Moose sleep in my yard every winter... I'm careful to always check when I let my little 6 pound dog go to pee... I've been in this particular cabin about 13 years. There is a mama Moose that I like to think she brings her new born babies to meet me and show them off... she also teaches them to lick the salt off my van... I always have a vehicle that has been to the " moose wash" .... I have a healthy respect for the Moose and the damage they can do in short order, but I also think they get used to you over time. I talk to them every time I see them, but I also never step off my porch ... They are magnificent animals and I love my encounters with them...
    Also, welcome to retirement!!

The moose was neat. She may have felt safe around your yard rather than out in the deep snow & wolves trying to get her. Most of the time they seek out plowed areas instead of staying out in the deep snow.

Your plowed areas are a welcome mat. How sweet for her to bed down in your yard. Feel Blessed! (And the other....all worked out for you all!)

Unfortunately soon after I retired I lost my hearing in my left ear, I just had surgery. It will be a long recovery time. Our a damper on retirement plans. It was the hand I was dealt so it’s the one I need to play. My only point in sharing this is Enjoy while you are young and healthy. Hope Parker has found a friend or two in your town.
