The last object is a linen press. I have seen identical ones in the laundries of National Trust houses in the UK. Rocks and other weights are placed in the tray to increase the force flattening the cloth.
Second that, and raise your "seen the object", I have used a bit cruder, and a lot heavier press with my grandma when I was twelve. It had a sort of a winch with a thick wooden lever on each end to lift the box for placing the rollers with the linen wrapped around them under it. Scary as hell to a kid who was give a vivid description of how people had had their hand crushed when the winch had slipped. Was damn effective safety course for the job on hand.😅
Last item is a press for bed linen and table clothes, I belive its called a mangle. You wrap the linen around the round logs, move the box to one side and it will then tilt up/down allowing the log to be put between the box and base. repeat on the other siden and roll the bow back and forth a couple of times. Hey presso! Flat linen!
I love some of the ad slogans from the past.... Northern TP was the first to boast they were SPLINTER free.....
AND wow this oil lamp DOESN'T explode.... that's an improvement.
Actually interesting video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
I wish someone would make those corner dust shields today.
By the way, 'teetotum' is pronounced 'TEE- TOE - tum'.
They make repros.
@@hollyingraham3980 Do you have the name of a manufacturer?
