This was pretty damn comprehensive. I was expecting a tutorial on just a simple visual effect using a couple of tricks, but this was like... well I know how to use Blender a bit, how to create basic textures, and the basics of shaders now. Really appreciated the constant and repeated calling out of the keyboard shortcuts you were using, too.
dudeee, you're really great teacher, everything is so clear! note for anyone who already have some understanding, RUclips has playback speed, set it to whichever u prefer :)
👏👏👏👏 You made an amazing video, you are talented, I missed your content, it's good that you joined Godot, there was a lack of technical artists like you
thanks Crisis 🤍 .. I just do my best to contribute with the community.. hopefully now at days the Godot community is growing and we can see more and more nice tutorials out there.. so, there are no excuses to make incredible games in godot now 😁
Can you consider below? Idea for your next video is to do a fresnel + wind for tree leaves and grass/foliage. Different from your last videos but needed for Godot. I can give examples or more detail if needed
thanks mate.. it takes some time to become good at 3D, I tried to make this tutorial easy to follow.. but it would be better if you already have some experience using Blender 🙂
yooo! your tutorial vids are really great! all are very easy to follow! i appreciate you and thank you very much! just wanna ask too, can you also upload a tutorial for ground explosions vfx 😭 anyways, thank youuuuu!
thank you 😁 always do my best to make the best tutorials i can.. Yep, I'm planning to do an explosion tutorial, also earth effects too.. but first i will do some mini 2D VFX tutorials, since many people requested them..
Hey, quick question. In a video 2 months older than this one you did another trail effect by celyk. I wondered if there was a reason you used 2 different ones?
good question.. both Trail plugins works, but Celyk/GPUTrail is easy and simple, good for slash attacks.. while metanoia83/MotionTrail is a quite more complex but It supports custom shaders so its better for the ribborn trail effect inverse movement...
hey at minute 10:00 you've used a subtract and a clamp, why not use multiply instead? i think using subtract + clamp is less efficient but maybe i'm wrong
good question.. Multiply will work fine as well, but the end result will be different.. I will invite you to try both, so you can see the differente.. Multiply will just HIDE the flames, Substract+clamp will make it hide towards the movement flame size..
oh.. i just created 3DPath that goes from the Character hand to the enemy.. and the cube follows that Path.. its not hard to do in Godot 🙂 just takes a few lines of code.. Also, in case you're interested you can donwload it on my Patreon's page, and see how it works..
@@zawad1981 nope.. its part of the map.. same as lights.. but you can put a light inside the fireball as well if you want it to bright more on dark places..
Hello @Le_x_Lu, how are you ? I have a question for you, i'm following your tuto, but now i want use this fireball in another project. how can i export it ? I'm searching in google, but i don't find anything about exporting mesh+shader and import it to another godot project ... it's weird
oh.. you just put all VFX related stuff into a folder, and move that folder to the new Godot directory.. but need to keep all exactly as it is in Hirarchy.
oh.. make sure to enable +GLOW in your world environment.. and dont forget to set the shader mode to UNSHADED, and make sure to use really strong colors with RAW values, as I did in the video..
So on your Patreon... are we able to download the projects with these projectiles and use them in our own projects or are they tutorials on how to make all the effects and that way they are our own?
All my tutorials are 100% free, just available on youtube.. in my patreon I upload all VFXs files and demo projects, you can download all VFXs files and add it to your own videogames, or you can also edit them if you want..
I've created most of my textures using some Noise generators of Unreal, and other programs.. but, you can also buy Noise packs, or find them for free.. check out the Luos’s Free Noise Textures V2
OKay, here's one I've been struggling with, and I keep trying to adapt things you've shown us and just can't get it right. A wind attack, I can get the actual ability no prob, but a sick graphic that makes it clear what's going on has been difficult, and would also be a bit different than what you've done so far I imagine.
it depends on the style of your game.. if its a reallistic game you can make it like a distortion air compression effect.. if its stylized you need to play with transparency vs color gradients.. As long as you train your artist skills, and understand the technicall stuff I explained on this video you would be able to do awesome things 😁
This method requires a really absurd amount of time needed for the creation of a single magic bullet, since I need to create an RTS magic-based I have to implement something like 500 - 1000 vfxs, we need to find a better way. Anyway, thanks for the demonstration.
quality takes time.. good thing is, once you have created everything is really easy to customize the effects, like I did for all the effects of the video.. I first created the fireball and then i quickly created all the variations modifying the existing fireball.. even tho, it took time to find the perfect colors and times for each effect..
that would be really cool 😁.. for my next videos i'm planning to do some mini 2D VFX, since many people requested them.. but, I would love to do a glitch effect in the future..
Hey Guys.. I decided to RE-UPLOAD the video [audio fix] .. maybe youtube algorithm will punish me, but I don't care.. Quality goes first.. 🙂
This is a lot better! I hope the video still does well. I'll try to do my part to spread it around to my friends.
hey your song is loud more then your voice
I don't think it's louder but it's still a little loud it's much better than the previous upload though @@Lowwaels

Unos meses más y veremos ese inglés so fluent.

I've been looking to learn how to do VFX for a while, and your tutorials are perfect for what I'm looking for. Keep up the great work!
Excellent, man! Great job. VFX are just about the only area I feel like I get lost in still.

I would like to ask how did you generate all those seamless noise textures @9:11 ?
Unreal engine 5 has some nice Noise generator nodes, you can use that and then with a blueprint bake out them to PNG.

yes.. Its definitelly on my list, probably will do it on next month or the next-next one..

Is there a way to export this to mp4 or Mov? I want to use it for transparent overlay for my video effects
Yes 🙂.. Godot has a Movie Maker mode that allows you to save a game video as a .avi video file or a bulk of .PNG images with transparency..

how to implement a glow stroke? To tell the player which item to take
