Fantastic 🥰.. i loved the way the video is been captured specifically the final closure showing your garage and the red tail lamps of the Mini Clubman is a perfect delight shows how professional a youtuber videos should be.. I own ravishing red and personally i dont like any other colour. But yours looks exceptional.
I ordered a GT 650 touring seat for my Interceptor after watching this video. It arrived this morning, I installed it and then went for a ride. Thanks Stuart, my feet now plant flatly on the pavement and my rear end is much more comfortable sitting on the bike for longer periods . It also looks better, a needed upgrade for sure. Thanks again !
I took my first longish ride on my Interceptor yesterday. 2 hours either direction. After the first hour I could notice circulation diminishing a bit. On the way back ..... agony. I believe, evidenced by sensations I still have today, that the WIDTH is where it gets me. The angle of your leg from the hip down to the pegs is impeded. The Continental seat with the narrower front portion may be the ticket. I couldn’t have found this information anywhere else but on your Channel. You are indispensable my friend.
Hello Stuart. When I make a motorcycle seat I use hard foam that is used in construction building for wall isolation. (4 to 6 cm)On top of it I add a somewhat softer foam that is often used in furniture upholstery for the hardest parts.(2cm) This works very well. It is rather hard, but you can drive hundreds of miles on it.
Finally took the plunge and bought a INT650 this weekend. After trying it back to back with the GT, I've gotta say that little scoop in the GT seat made the difference between flatfooting and tiptoeing on these bikes (I stand at a commanding 5' 6" tall). I like the look of both, but the GT seat gave me a little more confidence when walking the bike around. Thanks for all the videos Stu, it's been an invaluable resource. Royal Enfield should be cutting you royalty cheques haha.
I bought the single seat for my Conti GT and I put the touring back on after a couple of rides. The touring seat is far more comfortable and puts you in a nicer riding position.
Thanks for the review. I tried the touring seat for the interceptor, for me just as painful as original. I have had the seat reupholstered to be the same as the flatter, wider and useable seats that i used to have on my bikes 53 years ago. I know my arse has changed since then but i have spent thousands over the years on after market seats. With the motone bar risers and my custom made seat it has made this bike ridable for hours with no problem, and to me looks right. Good to get other riders views though and your efforts are appreciated. arket seats
Absolutely nailed it... "Two birds with one shot". Very detailed information about the science of seats and great choice in selecting the continental gt touring seat for interceptor 650.
I was already thinking of doing this GT Touring seat swap and I haven't even bought the bike yet! Thanks for the video, it's confirmed the improvements in looks that I suspected it would bring.
I’m sure motone customs will eventually be making seats for the interceptor seeing as they are already getting enquires from India about the bar risers and tank pads thanks to your excellent videos. India is a huge market to break into so it would make good business sense for motone to tap into it
That's a pretty good price for an official RE accessory, maybe I'm just used to Triumph and H-D prices, not a fan of the diamond pattern either, reminds me of a seat cover knocked up at home from an old coat I wore to school for a CD175.
Uncle Stu, got the GT touring for my INT, you are absolutely right, it does make a difference not a whole bit but that X factor is worth the money. FYI Its sold in India for 45 pounds (equivalent) :)
I just ordered the Interceptor Touring seat. The OEM is killing me. I’ll let you know my opinion, ( that’s an Irish Wrestling hold I’ve been told ), when I’ve put someKilometres on it. I’m suspecting a month just for it to arrive. Thank you for everything you put yourself through for this Channel.
It took 7 months to arrive, but I’ve been on a ride 1 1/2 hour each way. It’s much better than OEM. Still a bit of numbness on the last part of second leg, but that’s possibly from having the winter off so my Butts not used to riding yet.
@@jamesloveless3712 Sad for the late arrival(why?) & thanks for the reply.I'd now put the GT touring seat on Interceptor coz it has better feedback from riders.
I purchased one after watching this video uncle Stu and yes it's much firmer than the stock interceptor seat . And I love the look of it over the stock seat as well. Keeping the old one just in case I find someone who makes custom seats so they can use the seat pan. Cheers mate
I have 29" inside leg measurement. I was interested in the Conti 650 and went to my local dealer (in Thailand) who only had an Interceptor on show. I was comfortable on my Triumph Daytona 675 (seat height 830 mm?) about 12 years ago but as I'm getting near 70 now, I no longer want a bike where I'm on tiptoes and, unfortunately, the Interceptor is in that category so I decided the 650 wasn't for me :-( . A few weeks later I happened to pass by another dealer who had a Conti with the (standard?) Conti dualseat on display outside. I tried it out. What a difference - not exactly flat footing it but easily within my comfort zone. This seat makes a helluva difference for those of us with little legs! Well, for me anyway. I think I'll be ordering a Conti after Thailand's monsoon season, maybe in October, preferably with the cast wheels that are rumoured to be in the pipeline - I'm not a great fan of spoked wheels. BTW, I've always been one who likes a firm seat on my bikes. Good to see you pointing out that a soft seat isn't necessarily a comfortable seat.
Got my int 650 last week, and I am tiptoe ing on it...i am 5'8 and dropped my bike twice today! Dropping it was more of a technique fault from my side, i am used to scooters and never ridden a heavy bike as this, I locked my handle to the right and it fell down. I think this seat could help me getting my feet, flat on ground! Thanks for the video 🙂
I own the Continental GT 650 with that style seat you are testing and I am experiencing numbness in the nether regions . After 30 miles it's time to dismount and reestablish circulation down there and that is an annoyance. I've looked at Corbin seats but they're $600 .
Always enjoy your vlogs Stuart, I don't own a Triumph, or a Royal Enfield - although one of each would be very nice. I do though enjoy watching and listening to your very wise and informative Vids. Well done keep it up, and ignore the trolls etc, they don't know what they're missing!!
Nice vid, Stuart. I do not like the stock seat either, not only for the diamond but for its shape. I'll buy the Int & Touring seat at same time, and keep the stock one to install gel pads into it at Lolo's Pamanes in Cantabria (North Spain), who is an excelent gel seat manufacturer for all motorcycle brands. Stay safe, mate.
It wouldn’t have surprised me if you had said it was music from your own band! Keep up the good work and I’m sure I’ll pop over to the other channel and have a peek.
I bought this seat recently (it hasn't arrived yet) before seeing your review, for two reasons that you mentioned: 1. for my 31" inside leg measurement, the standard seat is a tad high (but mainly blame those pesky wide footrests that get in the way); 2. the diamond pattern reminded me of those old cheap elasticated replacement covers that used to be fitted over worn seats years ago. That said, the standard seat is of decent quality & with the existing suspension set-up is comfortable - certainly for the maximum 60-mile round trips that I've done so far. Anyone like to buy a good-as-new standard seat at half the list price??
There must actually be 3 seat options for the GT650. The standard two passenger seat does not have the “Touring” tag sewn onto it, and does not scoop down in front as the one you show does. Also, the GT solo-seat DOES have the “Touring” tag sewn onto it. So it must be Standard, two passenger Touring and Solo Touring as available options. Cheers from sunny Southern California.

Stuart, I love your videos. There's a fella about to become a RE dealer who put me onto you. He let me have a test ride on a Interceptor 650 last week. I loved iit. My problem, however, is my height and the length of my legs. I'm now in my seventies and still tall (although shrinking!) and before I buy i would need to make sure I could somehow raise the seat. I'm considering the interceptor touring seat now. I'm one of those pussies with a sensitive butt 🙀, and 20 or 30 more miles before i start whining is worth a few € :-)
Really enjoying your vids and I would love to watch the adverts to support.you.
I watch this from outside the UK. Please contact RUclips and let them know that people watching videos in English do not necessarily understand the language of the people next door.
If someone is watching something in English, chances are that they can understand adverts in English.
Stuart,do you know if it is possible to get a tail tidy for the enfield ????
Thanks for finding out if possible ,
See you later, stay safe ,bye
None that im aware of at the moment Andrew, but im sure someone will produce one sometime next year.
Ok Stuart, thanks for looking ,stay safe on the road,
Looks like you have a cat nearby! marks all over your seat! Secondly the seat you got there seems of better quality than what we get there :( But we paid only 4000RS!
Does the Continental GT 650 pillion seat can be fit on the continental GT 535? Plz replay
No.
I had a lemon battery on my interceptor. Any problems w yours and if so do u plan on lithium or other upgrade?
Whap Artist good question. I hope he answers you.
The batteries are fine so no plans to replace, however it is important they are maintained! video coming next week!
stuart fillingham much appreciated Uncle Stu!!
actually i want to by raiser
is that rust bubbling under the paint at 4.36?
No I would have reported it in the review if it was. Its the black rubber mark from the seat spacer cleans off easily.
@@stuartfillingham makes sense didnt think it would be rust you clean it to well. Im not hating on the bike i own an himalayan(im not one of the triumph fans;)
Can you attach a cowl to the touring seat of interceptor?
I believe so.
i see you still have your sissy bar - if you were to remove it will it be a simple bolt off or do mods need to be done
btw the gt 650 touring seats do make then interceptor more aggressive & better looking im just wondering if it would be comfortable for the passenger
yeah its very simple to remove 2 bolts either side.
thank you thats good to know
hope you dont mind me asking but im curious if the tires can be replaced with thicker ones - stock its 100 front/130 back - without further modifications required with 110 front/140 back
have you ever considered changing coz it would seem that the stock ones seem to thin for a bike with this power & size
Can you tell us your height Stuart? Just to put in the perspective with the bike.
6ft!
@@stuartfillingham Thank you. So there is a chance for a 6.5 feet guy to fit on the Interceptor?
@@berislavpavisic3121 dont judge a bike for suitability by thinking about how you look on it. Judge it by how it feels when you ride it!
@@stuartfillingham7011 Indeed... that's why I'm waiting for a test drive at our local RE dealer. They are selling very well here in Croatia. 👍
anyone comment on int tour seat and gt touring seat ? which is best for interceptor 650 ?? help ?
