This is the first chapter of a story that is told across the entire "Apex" album and continues into their next album "Abyss". Each song and both albums are really good. Brittney even has a series of videos where she goes through the albums song by song and talks about the story that is going on in each.
"Power Metal": Clean, soaring, vocal with an uplifting melody. High technical proficiency on the instruments. You ladies might enjoy Lovebites, an all female Japanese band best known for their "Power Metal" offerings. "Holy War" would be a good one to start with. Lovebites - "Holy War" (live): ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
that sound of galloping horses is soooo good along with her voice that seems to have a very strong range that energy with those very cool guitar rhythms just elevates everything about this song and her higher register and andrews death voice harmonizing are just timeless and going back into that beat and making rounds
Unleash the Archers is epic and quickly becoming my favorite band. Just great skills, tempo changes, vocal range and skill - and interesting songs with a desire to tell stories as well. Have you seen the video where AFTER a concert she then goes and sings karaoke in a local bar? (and nails it). Just a person who works hard at their craft and enjoys singing so much they will go do more after doing a show - that is truly epic.
The thing with the "metal" genre is that it is a blanket term for different styles. That's why we use "sub genres". Unleash The Archers is considered a "power metal" band, but they also incorporate other sub genres within their music. Power metal usually consists of fast drums, clean/melodic vocals, and very technical guitar playing. Compared to a metal band like Jinjer, which plays in the "metalcore/progressive metal" sub genres, UTA is a totally different style but they are both considered as "metal" bands. Here's a vague breakdown to give you a bit of context behind this songs lyrics and the album it's from - Apex(2017). This is a concept album telling a story track by track about an Immortal being. This is the opening song on the album. It is sung from the Immortals perspective(not all the tracks are), about being awoken in his mountain hollow from a 1000 year sleep. As a covenant of birth, the immortal must do the bidding of whoever awakens him. As the tracks progress, you find out that The Matriarch(which is played by the male vocalist in this song Awakening) was the one to awaken him. She wants him to find her four sons, so she can kill them and perform a blood ritual to gain immortality for herself(pretty dark haha), and his journey to find them. Each son has their own song about them on the album. The closing song Apex, is about the immortal going back to sleep in his mountain and it is a phenomenally written song. Their new album which came out in August, is a continuation of this story, and the immortal has awoken on a spaceship confused as hell wondering where his mountain is lol from the single Abyss. I won't go into the rest of the album lol For something heavier by them: Cleanse The Bloodlines For Brittney really going wild: Tonight We Ride Epic song writing: Apex(official audio only on RUclips) Something different: Legacy(really cool lyric video)
@@LEANNxARI you’re welcome! The story continues on their latest album Abyss. If you’re planning on listening to the story in order, I’d love to see your reactions to the music videos as you get to them 🤘 if possible haha

"Tonight We Ride" is probably one of the best examples for seeing "what all she can do". ruclips.net/video/UOvZKJlrtk8/видео.html In this song, Brittney adds some distortion to her voice, though the growls are still coming from Grant (Ibanez guy). Andrew (the ginger) has a great clean voice, but we don't get to hear him often. Scott (Bundy Junkie) is the drummer with both him and Brittney being the core of the band (they're also a couple). Unfortunately the bass player isn't with them anymore for the simple reason that he lived too far away from the rest of the band to make rehearsals etc. a straightforward thing. They still don't have a permanent bass player. During the pandemic, Brittney has been visiting reactor channels and nerding out with them. I think the three of you could do a fun video. She has reacted to reactors reacting to her, sang with other bands and just done some interviews.
You definitely need to check out their songs "Tonight We Ride", "Cleanse the Bloodlines", "Abyss", "Soulbound", "Faster Than Light", and "Legacy". Brittney Slayes is the vocalist, which you already knew that. Grant Truesdell is one of two guitarists and the harsh vocalist. Andrew Kingsley is the ginger guitarist and does some clean vocals on certain songs with Brittney. Scott Buchanan is the drummer and Brittney's long-time boyfriend (they formed the band together and are the only original members). The bassist in this video is Nikko Whitworth, but he is no longer in the band. The band has a hard time keeping a bassist for some reason and as of now, they don't have an official one and use a session bassist.
I know a lot of people are suggesting "Tonight We Ride", which I agree. But also "Faster Than Light" has the same speed and energy as this one, but with a funny music video.
Another great reaction! 😊 You have to do tonight we ride guys.....her vocals are out of this world...literally....the range of her voice is absolutely nuts
Awesome! Haha you guys "accidentally" figured out the beat at the beginning. When the guitars are doing that, it is actually called "galloping". Love your channel, keep it up. Can I suggest Jinjer "on the top" live in Kiev. I know you'll love it!
Was hoping for this! Her vocals are very power metal, rather than rock. The camera effect on the bass is called tracking, if I’m not mistaken. Also, the drummer’s name is Scott, and I think he and Brittney are together. “Tonight We Ride” next!
4 or 5 separate tracks during the chorus at least. Not that there's anything wrong with that. She's a great singer anyway. Never heard them live though, as I'm not a fan really... speed power metal isn't my thing.
So the bass player.. he’s using a right hand technique invented/pioneered by a jazz bass player for speed without using a pick... but Nikko Whitworth here at UTA perfected it. He has his own RUclips channel if you want to see more close ups of his playing
Hey ladies! As for the "galloping sound" you heard, that is the double-kick bass drums. That "galloping sound" was first made famous by Iron Maiden. By the way, welcome to the world of Speed Power Metal! If you've ever heard DragonForce and "Through the Fire and Flames," this song, Awakening, is in that style.
Thank you for coming back to UTA! Awakening is probably their best gateway song. I would heartily recommend listening to their full APEX album as it is a continuous story and worth a listen from beginning to end. Here are the current band members: Singer: Brittany Hayes/Slayes Guitar + Growl Vocals: Grant Truesdell Guitar + Clean Vocals: Andrew Kingsley (Red Head) Drums: Scott Buchanan Bass (Former): Nikko Whitworth
2:58 that "ddrrrnt drrnnnt drrntt" beat is known in metal as a "gallop." And in this case, a power metal gallop. It's usually done on the bass drums or bass guitar, but my fellow Canadians are so damned proficient that it's happening on the lead and rhythm guitars as well!

If you like this band, then you might like Kobra and the Lotus. These bands are what I like to call "Operatic Metal" because the frontwomen are basically trained opera singers singing metal music. I tried to find the right introduction video and I think "Soldier" would be a good place to start. Also just now finding out that they are also signed to Napalm Records. They have an eye for talent those guys at Napalm. Also need to say that I love you Ari! I like you too Leeann, I suppose. :-P Ari to me is what Tatiana from Jinjer is to her. Every time I watch one of these videos and Ari smiles, I smile and blush. lol. Merry Christmas guys or whatever holidays you may celebrate and certainly a Happy New Year after this horrendous year.

Came here w/ the intent to say a lot, but scrolled the comments first and most of it has been said already. lol I will reiterate that 'Tonight We Ride' is a must. I believe it to be their best gateway song into the band (rather than this one) as it shows off Brittany's vocal range much, much better than Awakening. It always pains me to see that first time UTA reactions are to Awakening... I'm like "ughhh, not again". 'Time Stands Still' and 'Test Your Metal' are my #2 and #3 after 'Tonight We Ride', all 3 are from the same album, and in my opinion, their best album to really hear Brittany's range and ability. Also... just wanted to point out that Brittany is such a down-to-earth, sweet and super cool person. I've watched a bunch of her interviews and personal videos and she is adorable in every sense. She has done a reaction video on her own channel of her reacting to other reactors reacting to Unleash the Archers. Also, another reactor I follow 'Mr Rock N Roll', was so into her that she reached out to him, sent him a signed photograph and has done a few videos w/ him together where they introduce songs to each other and do duel reactions live together. Great reaction! Cleanse The Bloodlines iss another great song from the Apex CD. Brittney is one of the most down to earth people in metal, she has done interviews and reactions with other RUclips channels. She did some with Mr. Rock and Roll which are really fun to watch.
I'm so excited for you guys to get into UTA. Both Awakening and Abyss are concept albums telling a story, highly recommend listening to the albums/tracks in order if you can. They really go more experimental in Abyss and I'd say Apex (the album) is probably the quintessential power metal album for me. 🍁🍁🍁
Hello Ladies. You 2 are freakin awesome as hell !!!! Thanks for doing this so soon after Northwest Passage. I'm glad you are liking them. I've got a few more suggestions coming your way.... I'll wait for a bit though and let someone else get their requests in. Thanks again you most awesomest beautiful ladies !!! Have a great week. Cheers from the great white north. 🇨🇦🍺🍺🍺🍺🤘🤘🤘🤘
If you like all these female lead bands check out Persona . Either Alpha or Invidia are good songs to start from , especially Alpha it's such a good track Persona ,Jinjer and Spiritbox stay in my musical rotation frequentl Love the channel
Abyss and Time Stands Still ! ps: she has her own youtube channel :D, if u girls are intrested to check that some point on your own, also she has Reacting even some music videos with some other react channels, and if am member correct shes wearing bit similar-ish classes herself too than what u wearing but anywaay =:D all that mumbling what i just write, u found her channel and ytube overall when u search things on ytube
As others have commented, I'm repeating a bit because we want you to understand and see the point being driven deeply in. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, DIO, and more all contribute to the power metal genre that Unleash the Archers settles firmly into. All are worth checking out.
So I am hearing that you like amazing Bass players. I think you would really like, Babymetal - Rondo of Nightmares live at the Budokan. Black night. The song has a instrumental intro and the bass player is just insane
So now you've been introduced to power metal, you need to checkout the Japanese female PM band Lovebites- "Shadowmaker" or "When destinies align" , "Rising"......or "The Hammer of Wrath" live, "Thunder Vengeance" live.......all good, just get started🤘 Great reactions, you girls rock!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
You should totally react to anything from their first 2 albums Behold the devastation and Demons of the Astrowaste, all their albums are amazing and just great but these 2 were made when they didn't have a label, and I personally think the sound in these 2 is better than what they are currently bringing out, but its all very good
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die
This is one of my favourite songs and bands. Takes years of work to achieve this level skill in craft. I am so sorry that the bassist is no longer with the band. Got a kick at how Ari's eye went from joking to laser sharp as the band played.
It is called the gallop. Iron Maiden started it pretty much. UTA is one of the best power metal bands ever, rivaling any of the originals that started in the late 70's/early 80's. I'm not a name dropper, but I do personally know a singer from a prominent power metal band that got big in the early 80's, and he's a monster. And I'd never tell him this, but Brittney rivals him effortlessly.
Some good bands Are flyleaf and Icons for hire. Anything by flyleaf really, its all good, same for Icons for hire but my favorites are Make a Move and Cynics And Crytics
If you like this, it might be worth checking out some older, classic metal. This is a song where you can clearly hear their musical heritage - she sounds like a female version of Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden or Ronnie James Dio, and the overall vibe is like an evolution of the classic new wave of British heavy metal sound. Checking out a couple of Iron Maiden songs would show you more of where this type of sound (power metal) comes from.
Just subscribed a couple weeks ago but loving the reactions and humor you two bring. I would HIGHLY suggest yall check out "Cleanse the Bloodlines" by Unleash the Archers if you want to hear more of Brittney Slayes badass vocals
If you like Brittany, following a show in Edinburgh Scotland she and the band went to a karaoke bar; she did Queensryche's "Queen of the Reich"...and it was caught on video. Bear in mind this was after a full show...check it out. I'd hate to have been anyone following that. ruclips.net/video/280DRqoGyLw/видео.html
If you like clean vocals, most Power Metal bands will deliver. Her vocal style and range is very similar to "classic" male power metal singers. That's not meant in a negative way :-P Look up Stratovarius, DragonForce, etc.
this 1 show off the band more for there singer showing off some you need to do UNLEASH THE ARCHERS Tonight We Ride ..they fall into the same cat as NIGHTWISH AND JINJER as like them there near top in the style they fall into.and all 3 seem to alway follow each other around and for most part all 3 bands fans also like the others good video
You need to watch Tonight We Ride, too.

Considering it is performed on some bars karaoke equipment and recorded w/ some patrons camera phone, it is pretty damn good quality..... even well worthy of a reaction! ---> ruclips.net/video/280DRqoGyLw/видео.html&ab_channel=UnleashTheArchers
Also... just wanted to point out that Brittany is such a down-to-earth, sweet and super cool person. So cool! Here is one of them...----> ruclips.net/video/zI2ILR38HHI/видео.html&ab_channel=Mr.RockNRoll
Oh... and I almost forgot, she also reacted (w/ Mr. rock N roll) to her own song 'Abyss' from their latest album together... she is amazing! ---> ruclips.net/video/LmjTQhg6sB0/видео.html&ab_channel=Mr.RockNRoll
Brittney hayes is a true metal queen. Uta is a kick ass band. Can't wait for new material. She does a beautiful job on her coverof zombie

Married with Children - Al and Peg Bundy
Great reaction! Cleanse The Bloodlines iss another great song from the Apex CD. Brittney is one of the most down to earth people in metal, she has done interviews and reactions with other RUclips channels. She did some with Mr. Rock and Roll which are really fun to watch.
Tonight We Ride, Legacy, Abyss & Faster Than Light are good also great one to start down the UTA rabbit hole! Happy Holidays! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
🍁🍁🍁
Personal favorites of mine you would most likely enjoy:
1) Tonight We Ride 2) Test Your Metal 3) Apex
Hello Ladies. You 2 are freakin awesome as hell !!!! Thanks for doing this so soon after Northwest Passage. I'm glad you are liking them. I've got a few more suggestions coming your way.... Al Bundy is a legend. He scored four touchdowns in the city championship game.
IF you like her clean vocals try "Northwest passage" very different song but really showcases her voice , IMHO
Thank you Patrick! NW Passage was actually the first one we watched 🤗 definitely different, we loved it!

Omg just subbed her channel! I hope she posts more ;) thanks for watching!
Tonight We Ride. Feel your Metal. Cleanse the Bloodlines.
Looove the bass reccomendations, thank you!
A cool thing to always point out is that this album as well as the next is a single story from start to what may be the end.
Dont forget the Drummer's Talent !!!
(UNLEASH THE ARCHERS) - TONIGHT WE RIDE...!!!
Next powerful frontwoman: Lzzy Hale from Halestorm! You must listen to "Uncomfortable"!!
Then pick up The Warning, they have opened for Halestorm.
Just found you!!!! Great channel!!!
SOULBOUND NEXT!!!!!!
If you want to see UTA's full range, check out Dreamcrusher.
New Jinjer video for Home Back was just released, you should check it out
you got me at "happy end of 2020"
As always the case, gettin' down with that funky bass!
Tonight we ride next pls...
You should totally react to anything from their first 2 albums Behold the devastation and Demons of the Astrowaste, all their albums are amazing and just great but these 2 were made when they didn't have a label, and I personally think the sound in these 2 is better than what they are currently bringing out, but its all very good
Always love a good double bass drum gallop.
Check out Time Stands Still...oh and she can sing opera too...check out Lords of Trident singer Fang and Brittany Slayes sing Brindisi.
They have a relatively new album out that I think is pretty epic. You should check it out.
Dreamcrusher is their best song!
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
AWAKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never
Lighting my way in the night
To roam; to never die
Jinjer Home Back!!! Its soo good
Greetings from Ireland 🤘
If you like this, it might be worth checking out some older, classic metal. This is a song where you can clearly hear their musical heritage - she sounds like a female version of Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden or Ronnie James Dio, and the overall vibe is like an evolution of the classic new wave of British heavy metal sound. Checking out a couple of Iron Maiden songs would show you more of where this type of sound (power metal) comes from.
Ah yes, waited for this.
If you like the cleaner vocals in metal, powermetal may be for you, which this is an example. The galloping rhythm is akin to Iron Maiden.
Just subscribed a couple weeks ago but loving the reactions and humor you two bring. I would HIGHLY suggest yall check out "Cleanse the Bloodlines" by Unleash the Archers if you want to hear more of Brittney Slayes badass vocals
I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of UTF ;) thanks so much for watching!
You guys are awesome, if you want to hear something that'll blow your mind away, try a reaction for Devin Townsend - "Kingdom". It's an amazing song!
Thank you for watching and for your recommendation!
gotta check out Britneys metal opera challenge really cool!!!!
Hell yeah
Brittney is kinda nerdy and cool at the same time.Really down to earth.
If you like Brittany, following a show in Edinburgh Scotland she and the band went to a karaoke bar; she did Queensryche's "Queen of the Reich"...and it was caught on video. Bear in mind this was after a full show...check it out. I'd hate to have been anyone following that.

Underappreciated rendition of Barracuda at 3:20 !
If you like clean vocals, most Power Metal bands will deliver. Her vocal style and range is very similar to "classic" male power metal singers. That's not meant in a negative way :-P Look up Stratovarius, DragonForce, etc.
Happy Hanaquanzamas
The canadian Equivalent to Painkiller !
this 1 show off the band more for there singer showing off some you need to do UNLEASH THE ARCHERS Tonight We Ride ..they fall into the same cat as NIGHTWISH AND JINJER as like them there near top in the style they fall into.and all 3 seem to alway follow each other around and for most part all 3 bands fans also like the others good video

SOULBOUND
