To answer the drummer question, as others have said, the difficulty in the beats and the fills is pretty standard. 6/10 roughly. The one thing that is actually quite difficult he does is how he approaches double bass. Your standard double bass technique is alternating left and right feet/kick pedals. So L R L R and so on. There’s a technique call heel toe where you hit the drum pedal with your heel and then slide it back hitting it again with the toes. It gives an effect of a double bass hit on a single pedal. This drummer uses heel toe on each foot throughout so it becomes L L R R L L R R for the kick pattern. Incredibly difficult to maintain this for an entire song. 10/10 on that front.
Legend has it that Bruce Dickinson and Ronnie James Dio conjured a daughter of Metal. They bestowed upon her the name of Brittney Slayes, and that is what she does.
The singer, Brittney Slayes, often "layers" her vocals, sometimes harmonizing with herself. You can hear more of her range / power / endurance in "Tonight We Ride" (music video) ruclips.net/video/UOvZKJlrtk8/видео.html and a song from their latest album which incorporates a touch of synth "Soulbound" (music video) ruclips.net/video/_yFH-O05uS0/видео.html to hear her without vocal effects, here's a friend's recording of her singing at a karaoke bar AFTER doing a full show: "Queen of the Reich" (by Queensryche, amateur video): ruclips.net/video/280DRqoGyLw/видео.html Britt & Scott, the drummer, are the only two members remain ing from the original lineup. The drummer question. I'd give it a solid 6 on difficulty scale for the beats, tempo and fills. Now the double kick technique, that heel-toe I use and does take awhile to get down. I give his technique a solid 8 on that. But he does get bonus points for the shirt and the porn star mustache. ✌🤘
They're not the most difficult beats and fills, but they're so tasty and well put-together, which in my opinion raises it. Playing it, not that hard. Making it, harder.

On the percussion in this song, skill level is about a 5 or 6, but experience level is an 8 or 9. In this genre, he knows what he's doing. This speed hinders the song's overall technicality, but takes place of it at the same time due to the endurance necessary to accomplish it. And then there's the tricks, which is what tells me he's experienced. Small kit, and the kick pattern he used was a total trick. 2 beats for every time kicking means half the work - but the speed of this song's tempo makes that kick pattern work perfectly = experience. Good drummer, great song, thanks for the vid y'all!
Yes! I was wondering when you were going to get around this. That girl can sing. I don’t know too much about them other than they’re from Canada. Here's a vague breakdown to give you a bit of context behind this songs lyrics and the album it's from - Apex(2017). This is a concept album telling a story track by track about an Immortal being. This is the opening song on the album. It is sung from the Immortals perspective(not all the tracks are), about being awoken in his mountain hollow from a 1000 year sleep. As a covenant of birth, the immortal must do the bidding of whoever awakens him. As the tracks progress, you find out that The Matriarch(which is played by the male vocalist in this song Awakening) was the one to awaken him. She wants him to find her four sons, so she can kill them and perform a blood ritual to gain immortality for herself(pretty dark haha), and his journey to find them. Each son has their own song about them on the album. The closing song Apex, is about the immortal going back to sleep in his mountain and it is a phenomenally written song. Their new album which came out in August, is a continuation of this story, and the immortal has awoken on a spaceship confused as hell wondering where tf his mountain is lol from the single Abyss. I won't go into the rest of the album lol They have so much to check out, but I'd say check their song Cleanse The Bloodlines, to somewhat stay true to the storyline. Or if you really want to hear her vocal prowess, react to Tonight We Ride🤘🇨🇦
I am 43 and trained in jazz but play death and thrash metal. He was doing a heel toe technique on the bass pedals along with a simple thrash beat, he is very good, the whole band is. If you want to learn a perfect heel toe on the bass pedals, it will take you a week or 2, maybe a month or 2, depending on where you're at as far as practice goes. keep a mind set that you can always do better, but also failure is a lesson and keep that lesson in your pocket and do not quit. See live shows, and expand your horizons in music, no matter what genre you are into or play comfortably. btw, comfort in music is a weakness, a downfall, stay uncomfortable and never stop learning. I love your reaction videos, but this world is so full of amazing musicians and you have not touched the tip of the ice berg. All I had growing up was music, only child and beat a lot by my parents. Now I play professionally, have children of my own, teach lessons on a variety of instruments and love ending my night with a beer and your videos. Peace and love man!!
You can't believe how hapöy I am that you guys finally got around to this masterpiece!! Great rection loved every sec of it! It's more than having all four limbs, the drummer is using a heel-toe technique on the kicks if you notice. That is quite a technique Brittany Slays has an incredible voice, like Suzuka I don't like effects on her voice cause she can sing.

That drumming is not super technical, like a 10 would be Tool - Penuma, but the thing about this drum track is the endurance, keeping up that pace and punch is more difficult than the technicality of the beat, in my opinion.

For the drum question I'd personally say its a 5 or 6 on the constant double bass with the accents, but a 7 or 8 on the double tap galloping that he does.
Since you liked the drummer so much you should check out Bleed from Meshuggah (the live version with drum cam). For other Unleash the Archers suggestions, I really like Apex.

In terms of complexity...its around number 4. This drum sound its all about speed and on this particular performance there is some good technique and not so conmon double bassdrum foot technique aswell, but is not complex at all.
I would say around a 5 scale just from a technical death metal perspective. What's really apparent technique-wise is the pedalwork. That's the most complex aspect to me. The rest of it is a straight-forward beat with a lot of fills. He's a fuckin beast though, for sure!
If you guys want a goblin, check out anything by the band Goblinomicon. They're better than just their gimmick. Melodic Death Metal with a sense of humor.

The drummer using heel to toe technique which can make you play fast but hard to master.
I won't go into the rest of the album lol
They have so much to check out, but I'd say check their song Cleanse The Bloodlines, to somewhat stay true to the storyline.
From a drumming perspective on the foot pedals thats around a 7 or 8
You can't believe how hapöy I am that you guys finally got around to this masterpiece!! Great rection loved every sec of it!
Although I have to agree with quite aa few otver comments that you should listen to To ight we ride sinve it is a equally great song of theirs.
I actually would love to see you guys react to
Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars.
Quite a long one but you won't be disapointed😁😁 keep it up guys!
It's more than having all four limbs, the drummer is using a heel-toe technique on the kicks if you notice. That is quite a technique
Brittany Slays has an incredible voice, like Suzuka I don't like effects on her voice cause she can sing.
Brittany has said "you know its powermetal, the drums are you know boot camp booty camp"
When I first heard this band I thought holy crap sounds like Nightwish I was definitely wrong so you fellows will like this I'm sure you will
Seen these guys on tour with Helion Prime and Striker in Delaware at a small venue. Blew the roof off the place. Love when you see a band play in front of 100 people and play as if it's in front of 10,000. Check Northwest Passage which really shines her voice and Heartless World. Side note....
Check out a band called Amaranthe. 3 singers. Female clean, male clean, and male growl. Would like to see your reaction. Try Drop Dead Cynical, 82nd All The Way, Nexus.
Welcome to UTA - a galaxy of talent there!
If you like that drums, you have to check out Angra - Spread Your Fire
The studio version or Edu Falaschi (ex-Angra’s singer) live version
Met the lead singer at a local show in Vancouver. Talked for a bit and she’s a very cool person! Also the whole Apex album kicks ass
Definitely have to do tonight we ride

Dude, Unleash the Archers-Tonight We ride to get your mindblown even more! \m/
Oh this is gonna be good.
If you want to see what Brittney can really do check this out. _After_ a show one night, the band went to a bar for beers and karaoke. Brittney got up to sing Queen of the Reich, by Queensryche. This video was shot on a cellphone. Be prepared to have your mind blown.

Holy Crap. Finally!!!!!
Nope. Still speechless. Yes!
Cool reaction!!!! Unleash the archers are insanely great!!! check out (northwest passage)( soulbound)( ten thousand against one) or (false walls)
Another female fronted band that you need to check out is oceans of slumber. My favorite song of there's is "winter".
I really dug this reaction guys, great song. I knew you would dig that little bass "solo"
general of the dark army is one of my absolute favorites by unleash the archers.
That drumming is not super technical, like a 10 would be Tool - Penuma, but the thing about this drum track is the endurance, keeping up that pace and punch is more difficult than the technicality of the beat, in my opinion.
Bout right 👌🏼
I play WoW as well!!! hahah.. great, now we like the same music, and the same game!
They are one of my favorite bands around the talent all of them have is amazing her voice is like a cross between Ronnie James dio and Bruce Dickinson Abyss is a great song from them northwest passage soulbound tonight we ride
double base was extraordinary, theb band was incredible.
I'd like to see you react to All That Remains "This Calling". That drummer blew me away when I first heard them.
For the drum question I'd personally say its a 5 or 6 on the constant double bass with the accents, but a 7 or 8 on the double tap galloping that he does.
It's a weird thing to learn but eventually turns over to muscle memory. This dude is really smooth and even. Lots of practice hours.
Napalm Records never dissapoints.
Since you liked the drummer so much you should check out Bleed from Meshuggah (the live version with drum cam).
For other Unleash the Archers suggestions, I really like Apex.
First! Gojira- clone/lizard skin/Satan is a lawyer
Slugdge-salt thrower/ pellet to the head/ crop killer
Vektor- tetrastructural minds/ collapse/ black future
+ 1 for Slugdge! And I will add the song « Putrid Fairytale ».
Other good bands to react to:
Dying Wish « Innate Thirst »
The Offering « Ultraviolence »
Rolo Tomassi « Rituals »
Opeth- deliverance
In terms of complexity...its around number 4. This drum sound its all about speed and on this particular performance there is some good technique and not so conmon double bassdrum foot technique aswell, but is not complex at all.
Their music is more like mournig coffe. It is pure energy. U have to discovery them more. Try TEST YOUR METAL \m/
I would say around a 5 scale just from a technical death metal perspective. What's really apparent technique-wise is the pedalwork. That's the most complex aspect to me. The rest of it is a straight-forward beat with a lot of fills. He's a fuckin beast though, for sure!
yeeeaaaa Canadian metal!! love it!
One of my favorite groups from Canada. Brittney is beautiful and talented and the rest of the band is just as good.
They remind me musically of Helloween
If you guys want a goblin, check out anything by the band Goblinomicon. They're better than just their gimmick. Melodic Death Metal with a sense of humor.
