Just to point out a drumming note: The dude is playing straight semiquavers at this high tempo using double strokes on the feet which is very impressive, takes incredible technique & control. The whole band are fantastic musicians though.
Their last two albums Apex(2017) and Abyss(2020) are concept albums that tell a 20 chapter story, 10 per album. This song Awakening is chapter 1. Just something to keep in mind if you're gonna check them out. It will help you understand the lyrics haha you don't have to listen to it in order as both albums are killer musically, but I highly suggest it if you interested in the story 🤘

Welcome to Unleash the Archers! :) Their discography is amazing - it's hard to highlight only a few songs, but the "typical" ones people react to other than this one (from their previous album, "Apex"), are (and this is by no means a comprehensive list) "Tonight we Ride" and "Test Your Metal" from 2 albums ago ("Time Stands Still"), and then off of their most recent album ("Abyss"), the common ones are those with actual videos, like the title track, "Abyss", "Soulbound", and "Faster Than Light". However, I personally think "The Wind that Shapes the Land" is perhaps one of their best tracks - just doesn't have a "fancy video" ;) I don't think I've even seen anyone react to the song, and I'd love to see some reactions! Hey Geebz! I'm totally on the UTA train with you. I stumbled across them a few weeks ago when I found them covering an acapella folk song by Stan Rodgers called "North West Passage" and was blown away by their version. I binged a bunch more of their stuff right away, then went home and played it all again for my daughter. Love to see you having the same reaction to their music that I did just such a short time ago. Thanks again for giving your honest reaction and insights into these songs.
Hello Key! I am loving your videos and I have an amazing suggestion. It would definitely be your longest video to date but it will be worth it. Its a Tool song. Well, rather 3 Tool songs that are all movements of an over arching melody. I just found "Cannons" Fire For You. I like a half dozen of their songs. Purple Sun, Hurricane are a few others off the top of my head. Unleash the Archers totally hooked me the first half of the song.
Geebz! I'm so glad you're doing Unleash the Archers! They've got a LOT of talent and I think you'll love their discography like you've been deep-diving on Tool. So this song, Awakening, is the first track to Apex. You should listen to Apex, the titular track and final track on the album, it's such a great song to cap off the album.

i love the detail you put into all your reactions .... they are awesome. i do not usually make suggestions on reaction pages but I would genuinely like to hear your analysis of "The Wind That Shapes The Land " by Unleash the Archers. It is a truly epic song ...... probably my favorite from them. ... Cheers
I think youre mu favorite 'react' youtuber. You come off as very friendly and warm, with dad energy to spare. Id love to see you react to Alcest's "Voyages de L'ame". 💜
I've been listening to Unleash the Archers for a few years now, and I'll put it this way: Brittney Slayes, the singer, is so good as a vocalist that Arjen Lucassen, a prog-rock composer, used her on the latest Star-One album, in the track Fate of Man. Fate of Man not only is a song that is about the Terminator movie from 1984, but more importantly, is a song that Arjen wanted Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden to originally sing. And speaking of Bruce Dickinson, if you haven't heard it yet, I highly recommend watching the live 1982 performance of Iron Maiden performing Hallowed Be Thy Name. It is one of the legendary performances of any band out there.
Subscribed and amazing work, glad to find someone explaining and enjoying music and not just "le ebin meme faces reaction" that we are used to watch. Whenever you can listen to an old song "Angra - Carry on", this definitely made me remember that track.

It's interesting watching a variety of reactions to this song because people react differently to different parts. Such a great song from an incredible band!
What gets me about this is just how easy they make it look. They're so relaxed, which is the sign of absolute professionals. I'm a latecomer to this band, I picked up their latest album (Abyss) recently and it's one of the most mature albums I've heard in a while. So I'm looking forward to diving into Apex. Your analysis was spot on, as always. Thanks for another entertaining video. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'd really love to see you check out a song called Crack of Light, by the band Vintersea. I think you'd dig it. Cheers.

Technical abilities by everyone in this band is killer.
This is amazing! the power, the confidence! I've never seen a beard played like this before! 10/10
Been waiting for this! Man I really love your breakdowns of the music. It gives me something else to think about next time I listen to my music.
Every great band has that one person who is clearly beyond reality.
They made a point to show you how good the band is.
And they're insanely good...
Really happy to see this. I requested this band and song!
I was blown away the first time I heard this song. Had never heard of them and this song is just amazing!
I love finding complete bands that are insanely talented
To get your full Canadian rock experience react to their cover of "The Northwest Passage" (OMV) 🦫
WOW! this band is amazing! I've never heard them before.
another singer everyone passes over that is a multi talented powerhouse - Anna Murphy of Cellar Darling....you've never heard a hurdy gurdy like the way she plays. "Hedonia" or "Dance" or anything actually. I've been a bass player for 30 years and Anna Murphy has just impressed the hell out of me.
Thanks for doing this Geebz. I knew this song and video would check a lot of boxes for the musician and engineer in you. Cheers.
I went to highschool with Andrew (the red head guitarist) the boys been a SHREDDER since the 10th fucking grade, his high school band Golgotha rocked every all ages venue in Courtenay
Glad you reacted to this group. I've recently found them and scour youtube to find people discovering them. They are just so talented! Also, have the BIGGEST crush on the singer, Brittney Slayes!
You had the same reaction I did when that bass player finished off that long solo. I'm gonna check this band out more
i love the detail you put into all your reactions .... they are awesome. i do not usually make suggestions on reaction pages but I would genuinely like to hear your analysis of "The Wind That Shapes The Land " by Unleash the Archers. It is a truly epic song ...... probably my favorite from them. ... Cheers
That synth intro is what I call Impending Doom.
So glad you got to these guys!!! Super cool people who don't get near enough air time! Have to get to Wintersun. Really any song but Sons of Winter and Stars live at the Sonic studio is killer. If you dont have time to react to it just go listen. One hell of a journey. Time and Lonely are also a treat for the ears. Loving your reactions!! Roll on!!✌✌🤙🤙
I've been waiting to see this for a while...good on you sir. If I may drop a suggestion in your coffee mug for the next Unleash The Archers decomposition..."Cleanse The Bloodlines."
It's interesting watching a variety of reactions to this song because people react differently to different parts. Such a great song from an incredible band!
This song never ceases to amaze me. A pure work of art.
Devin Townsend on EMGTV! Kingdom I think is the song, you get a deeper peek into devvy’s personality
Cheers.
Finally!!! Thanks for this man. You made my day :)
Love this one! It keeps coming up in my autoplay for youtube when I leave it running, and I've heard it so many times, but I still love hearing Unleash The Archers. Awesome breakdown
Wow, thank you!
You should check out sea in the sky! The song everything all at once would be an excellent listen!
Tendinitis by Jason Richardson!
