It has been brought to my attention that I made an error in the points and it’s actually a tie! Thanks for letting me know. It’s not easy putting these together but I do try.

The Donner Ded200 can handle a double kick. Kit is nice for the pice BUT, the quality is just not there. I have broken underneath plastic on all cymbals and two just stopped working along with a few cables, broke the snare drum head, and the bass drum tower. I know I am a heavier player so I will take that into consideration but the thing I hate about it the most is I’m so used to doing rim shots. There is no rim shot function so you just get a Crosstick sound so that is extremely annoying and the main reason I am, leaving this kit behind and just give it away to some kid who needs one I’ll replace the symbols and just cut my losses. Great video man I love watching your videos. Such a fun RUclips channel. Keep it rockin 🫡🤘🏻

I agree the rim shot missing is annoying but the drum itself is great for the beginner.

@@KeithronPowell But, honestly would you recommend this kit for a player like me who is train to 90% hit rimshots 😅 ? I LOVE the idea of the bigger snare and hi-hat on a real stand and like you i play 12-13" snares so that sweet spot for me too. i just don't want to run in to the same issue iv had with the ded200. might just wait and see if a anther kit comes along this year lol

@@TXJash I’m like you I’m all rim shots… it’s frustrating to me. I’d say get a Titan or something other. I had to adjust the snare so that I wouldn’t hit it

Once again dear Keithron an amazing Comparison Video...i just wonder why you didnt compare with the Upgraded Donner DED 200 Max that's been Released earlier this Year...
Maybe, DONNER didnt send you one to have a Look on it...
Would have been great to see what they've changed and Upgraded, except from the Look which is truly close to the Alesis Nitro Max Setup 😉

Good question! DONNER didn't send it to me. I've only gotten the one from them and I"m hoping they'll send me something nicer. Like the new drum.

Hey Keith, sorry but you slipped up. Started with Donner ahead w/ 2 Points...Fesley 0...then you gave both .5 for headphones. Donner should've been at 2.5 Points at this time but you showed a score of only 1.5 instead?
So the final score was actually a "Tie"! Also, i feel you should've expanded with more categories for extra points....for cymbal zones and or subtracting points for machine-gunning on the snares which i believe Fesley has that issue from other video review i saw. That and the the ghost notes were the same volume from what ive heard?
Actually, Donner shouldve Won! Because you award a point to Fesley for being able to fit a double bass pedal but the Dnner can too as someone already said here in the comments. Thanks

Wow!!! Good catch! And you’re right! I should expand! Imma take that and add for the next time. Not on the one I just finished uploading but the next, next one. 😂

Donner DED-500 Series and Donner BackBeat look better both then. What do u think? Donner DED 500 has a real feel hi hat and the only thing like I don't like on the kit is the snare 10 inches like Toms Donner should when with 12 inch snare. Do you think that's weird that the snare is the same size as the toms or is that Normal for e-drum ?

Haven’t tried them but I’m assuming they suffer from the same deficiencies and strengths

Are there any other kits out there in this price range that come with a hi hat stand instead of the single cymbal and pedal? I've been trying to research sets that would allow me to substitute a real electronic hi hat and stand with pedal instead of using just the pedal and single hi hat cymbal. I'd like to buy the Titan T-50 but haven't been able to confirm that I'd be able to swap out the hi hat.

the closest thing be the would probably be the Millenium MPS-850. which is about $545 and ships from overseas. Donner ded 500 has one, but is $700-$800.

I believe both of these e-kits come from the same factory. This was sort of an interesting comparison as I do not really think either e-kit is worth buying as yes, you can learn the basics and the fundamentals on them, but the feel, sound, and playability are lacking from either of these kits. This means if in the future you upgrade to an accustic kit or a high-end e-kit, there will be a relearning curve as there is more feel, expressiveness, sound, and playability. So, in my opinion, if you are serious about getting into drumming or already are a drummer, I would avoid lower-end e-kits as they are like drum set toys. Good high-end e-kits may be expensive, but they are well worth the price as they are 99.9%, like playing an accustic kit, and will teach you the proper way to fully play drums, and you will not waste a bunch of money to try and upgrade a lower-end low-budget e-kit that nay be better than it was but still nothing like a high-end e-kit or an accustic kit. Sure, people wanting to get into drumming on a budget will buy lower-end e-kits to start learning on, but the problem with that is either they return the e-kit because it was not as good as they were hoping, get frustrated with practicing as the kit just doesn't do things correctly so they give up, the kit sounds so bad or off it makes playing it no fun, or they are a drummer that needs a quiet practice set on a budget and realize that the budget practice e-kit is so differently bad from the accustic set they normally play it makes practicing on it difficult or mostly pointless.

      @KeithronPowell  4 месяца назад +2

someone that is learning and has never had an acoustic set will not be frustrated because they don't know the difference. The only reason you do is because, like me, you've played high end sets and acoustic drums. Also, not everyone has $2k or $3k to spend on a high end drum to "LEARN" on. I wouldn't buy a high end set to have a kid learn. I'd get a cheap $300 acoustic or an electric one for that purpose.

I bought this kit (FED-1000), I'm not a drummer per se, but I absolutely love it. I did get a more appropriate drum throne and I already had headphones, just better gear than what came with the kit - it wasn't an issue in purchase decision making. I just run a USB cable to my Mac mini into Logic Pro X and use Toontracks EXDrummer 3 plugin... and this kit absolutely kicks ass!
What I also did, customizing as it were, is I flipped the toms (#1 & #2) 180 degrees where the Fesley label on the drum heads are upside down... thus raising the toms up a bit more and it was the best adjustment of the actual build directions; the kit sits 'just right' - I'm not a big guy either (~5"8"). I've had compliments from several drummers who really dig the overall experience... like I said, I absolutely love this setup. The only thing I may do is upgrade to Superior Drummer - it handles the cymbal choke events much better. You can do it with EZDrummer 3, but it just doesn't 'feel' right...
If anyone is riding the fence determining whether to buy this kit or not, just do it... you won't regret it!
*** I got this kit for $350 + tax on Temu (yeah, that's right LOL) - 2 day Fathers Day sale ***
