Forza Horizon 5 is finally out! After doing my full review as promised I created this video to discuss all the problems I have encountered so far with FH5 - even if they are few and far between. Forza Horizon 5 is struggling with server issues, glitches, exploits, and more. So let's take a deep dive and hope Playground games addresses all this! Forza Horizon 5 is nearly there as a perfect open world racing game.

The AI being able to take 90 degree corners flat out is so frustrating, especially when doing the Goliath race. They need to lessen the rubber banding and power of the AI as a whole
Yes this. Yes yes yes. I cannot understand how they can fly up to 10 ft before a corner at 100+ mph, brake for half a second and maintain perfect grip and race line around a hairpin. So frustrating.
I gave up on AI and just left it on tourist, finally can enjoy the song, tracks and visuals
I hope by lessen you mean entirely get rid of, because the rubberbanding is the worst in cross country.
Go into a cross country race with a rear wheel drive car, the AI will pass you in water as if they're on dry pavement with racing slicks.
i hate bots so i use them as brakes and ram them

Al lot of years back Test drive Unlimited did alot of thing right, for example fast- travel to a road could only be done if you had driven on that road before. So exploring early on in the game was necessary and over time more and more fast- travel- points got available as you explored more...
Dude test drive has always been the best open world racing game in my eyes that game was so much fun man, if they had a game that was like exactly test drive unlimited but with all the customization that forza has and better sounding cars it would top every other game in that category out there. I can’t wait for the new one coming out I think it’s like next year

@@OhCorny I liked the simplicity of it tbh. There was a lovery editor and that forced folks to get pretty creative, I made some pretty sick wraps for my ACR and R8 that i drove on there religiously 😂
As someone who's trying to just learn as much as possible about the car scene, but don't like boring searches, it annoys me that it never tells you what the stock engine is. It just says "stock", then whatever the next one is. Other than that and connection issues, I love fh5

I hate the fact they haven't fixed this one thing from FH4 if I'm honest. Such a small detail but one we want to know.
Have they ever? Pretty sure theyve only ever showed the displacement. Totally agree tho
@@iDayVids In Horizon 1 they told you what cars the engine swaps came from. It was a nice touch but I want to say it was removed because manufacturers didn't want other manufacturer's engines in their cars. I may be wrong on that one though.

for me personally, my biggest gripes with the game are: The Drivatar's are actually unbeatable on unbeatable, and it's not just me, I've been playing forza since motorsport 4, Rocket bunny is gone (I understand that's from licensing) & the main menu visuals stop moving when you press A, Edit: 12/14/21

Tbf the bodykits arent Forzas fault. They wouldnt exclude Rocket Bunny unless it was for licensing reasons

I have 100% experienced the whole rubberbanding AI. I used to race on unbeatable difficulty on all 4 games up until now. Now, it's like I can't even turn it past highly skilled otherwise it's literally impossible. I'm maxed out PI for that class, and the cars are just hauling past me.
Yeah hate that theyre using ai like need for speed. Rigged races arent fun

@@TwamZ right, even on highly skilled its tough. I used to always play on unbeatable til now. The AI has nothing to do with the cars PI score. The cars also NEVER crash, when before theyd occasionally crash and hit walls from time to time.
The inconsistency is what kills it for me also. The beetle when you find it has a drag kit on it, which you can put on. But the dodge viper barn find has an aftermarket raised bonnet, side vent exit exhausts and the meatiest drag tyres, but when you go to customise it, you only have the Forza aero and standard options.
Yeah. I notice that too for a lot of the barn finds. It just seems like they didn't really care abut it. like, the barn find looks interesting and that has a story to be told, and they just replace it with the standard model from other games. Also, the cars aren't exactly special, with some exceptions. The first game had you finding much more exciting cars, and it felt special to have them. Also, the fact you couldn't sell them made it feel like the mechanic guy had put work in, and was barring you from just selling his work. I think the only one that they do right is the Ford Escort barn find. it was a rally car when you find it, so they turn it into a rally car. How cool would it be to drive around in a Viper Le Mans car, instead of the "normal" viper.

@@Chrxs210 for real. Idk why we still cant make wheels smaller and have different front and rear wheels. This is the 5th entry in the series and not much has changed in customization since fh2. I just wish they gave some real attention to the street scene and drag racing. Feels like a car game for non car people

@@tomfarrell1933 that’s why there’s virtually no customization for ferrari’s/damage in nfs (example) games. the brands have really all control over their car, not the devs. that’s also why damage in all major racing games (forza, gran turismo, f1 2021, ect), that’s also why customization sucks too, sure in games with a lot of cars (i’m looking at you forza) customization generally sucks, that’s a combination of too much work+licensing issues. not sure what nfs did, but i guess if you have any doubts, check their ferraris

We had games over 20 years ago that let us pick from a load of different spoilers, but here we still 99% of the time just have.... "Forza Aero".
They probably would add all those wings and spoilers but they can't due to copyright and trademark.

You can blame modders for this one. This was the reason, IIRC, why after a certain point in Forza Motorsport 4's life cycle, you were not allowed to gift unicorns to other players unless you were a dev or were otherwise placed on a whitelist of "allowed to gift unicorns", and this measured carried over to Horizon 1 on day one. This was because modders were conjuring up unicorns at a drop of a hat and were peddling them for cash, so if you're wondering why you're not allowed to name your gift recipent in Horizon 5, blame the modders.
What i hate personally is:
1.)Server issues. I can't play online most of the time.
2.)Balancing. Some cars are ment for drift and they slide way too much for no reason. Also, if you want to keep stock powertrain and drivetrain, its almost impossible to make car competive... this bothers me the most..
i have A formula drift 350z and it is impossible to drive straight. i wont touch any button but the gas and it will start to do a 180

Umm I went through this last game it's just the meta you have to awd everything, especially for stability and the launch. It's just the way it is. U can adjust the power train all the way to the back and still be good. A rwd car can be useful actually in s1 or s2. Or a powerbuild and in a sprint. It's just the way it is. This games grip is way higher than forza motorsport 7 where weight and 2wd is more pronounced and better overall. The PI is adjusted. Lot more in FM7. They should had nerfed awd with the PI addition but rwd can be done u just need meta car or like a s1 Sprinter handle build and be really on it to beat the best cars. The meta cars are just head and shoulders above 80% of cars hence boneshaker and like the nsx gt

I love you brought up the server timing issues. That's a big one for me. Also the auctions are insane to win alot of times. You need every ms advantage. I made a video on how to get the ae86 in the action easier
Well also atm there are ai bots sniping at all times on expensive cars
My internet has 8-5ms and can play cloud gaming without any noticeable lag but I still can't get a car while playing on my sx.

@@SKITTLESHD2020 they’ve been sniping cars like that for a long time now on a lot of forza games, having a pc alone gives you an advantage most of the time but it’s something we’ve always dealt with sadly

Honestly, I think FH5 took a step back from FH4 in terms of the visual customization. So many of my favorite cars in past FH games (86/BRZ, all Nissan S-chassis cars, etc) have been effectively neutered, with body kits and, strangely enough, spoilers being some of the biggest things I'm missing. Playground is still MILES away from even touching NFS or The Crew when it comes to visual customization.

I agree bro the customization has always been so subpar and I feel like that’s why 90% of people play forza is to customize and buy a lot of cars but it’s hard when you only get the option for the forza lip and ugly ass spoiler they’ve had since the beginning of the series lmao

I drive a 351w swapped ford ranger every day with strait cut gears in a tremec and it makes me smile to hear the gear whine. If you want quiet and fast buy a tesla, want something fun and visceral, it needs all the noise lol

Two critically acclaimed titles. I mean, familiarity isn’t bad in my opinion, as the horizon formula works great. My issues are with the busted technical/multiplayer experience.
Not gonna lie, Horizon 3 and 4 were boring as shit.
They’ve been basically copy and pasting since Horizon 2.
I miss the FH1 and FH2 "journey" vibe.

I had no idea that there was launch control in FH4. i put over 1000 hours into that game and completely missed it...
yes, it was like more complicated to do because you made the clutch slip and you could try to limit it at any RPM to improve the Launch.
Launch control still exists in FH5. In manual mode hold brake and gas shift into reverse and back to first and the car will hold rpm. Unfortunately you can’t change what rpm you launch at.

My gripe is the online modes. They grouped off-roading/dirt racing/road racing together. What if I feel like doing just road?
Wasn’t there an option in FH4 for road only? Why are there so many step backs in this step forward

they also grouped AWD and RWD drift races together and got rid of the ranked/unranked system
I hate that when you get a custom tune you CAN'T change some parts like wheels, it will simply revert back to stock... It's super annoying when you want a premade tune but you want to change the ugly wheels that came with it...
I'd love to be able to do that and also with livery designs. I love the paint job but some folks shouldn't be allowed to paint wheels.
yeah that would make sense, except you haven't been paying attention when you put your own wheels on have you? Wheels actually affect the tune.

It makes sense if you think about it if people can tweak popular tunes and paint jobs and republish it as their own, that would be a huge issue
They should try to mimic F1’s AI. It’s damn near perfect and actually can mimic real driving technique
I miss the AI in free roam on Horizon 3. Honk at them and they follow you around everywhere. Great for roll racing and freeway runs.

I've noticed in the cutscenes, when my character is out side of the car, he is also inside the car, same goes for whoever is talking to my character. I don't care, it was just silly to see.

You can fast traver to other festivals, no need to buy house, with house you can teleport everywhere on map, so he made a mistake. You are allowed to fast travel from start of game.
why do we need emotes in a car game anyway.

The problem with gifting a car to a friend, is could and would create a black market of people selling cars for real money. I agree, I wish we could because there's cars I have that I don't want but my friends do and vice versa, but idk how they would avoid the black market issue, other than needing to be friends for a really long time, but that would kinda suck too.
Edit: the issue is that rare cars would be hoarded and not appear in the auction house as purchasable with in game credits. When games do this where the items are purely cosmetic, I have no problem with it, but when you often NEED a specific car to complete a challenge or compete online, a black market should not be how it goes down.
It should be done no matter what. There will always be scumbags but for the majority that aren't it sucks
Doesn't matter tbh, I'd much rather let people pay for what they wanted and have players sell their hard earn cars for cash. The upside is this could bring the active player base to a higher number. The big problem is I have already experienced about 1/3 of my races online filled with hackers, they simply sit on the grid not moving. But their lap count will follow the lead player's car and they just drive to the finish line once the lead player started the last lap and wins the race. Super freaking annoying, its not so big an issue on player vs AI i.e. co-op races or the trial challenge, but really sucks all the fun out of online races.
And those who say it's a "stupid" reason don't know how much backlash that will bring into the developers and they don't want any part into that, they explained all of that in one of the streams and i 100% agree with them.
On pc people can literally give themselves any car so I don’t think this will be an issue tbh

There's one thing about this game that annoys me more than anything else. The NA Miata in the game is a 94, but they don't have the 94 color options. They have Mariner blue as an option which was never available in 94. But they don't have Laguna blue (best NA color ever produced). They had Laguna blue in fh4. They removed it for no reason. It would have taken 30 seconds to google search the color options available for the 94 model year, but no they just couldn't for some reason.
Theres so much nitpicky stuff like this in fh5. A lot of stuff that just seems like they couldnt be fucking bothered to do.
@@jaquescrusoe1602 They redid the physics and sounds for hundreds of cars in a 2 year dev period and we're really sitting here crying about color options for a specific Miata model year? Priorities, guys. Jesus christ.
You complain about not having colors, they gave us a mid model Honda prelude instead of the vtec model then proceed to give every other car their top trim like the celica gt4, eclipse gsx, ect ect

The problem with gifting cars to specific people is that some people will use it to make IRL money or trade cars for other cars that you don’t have so I agree with that decision
The disconnecting thing is very annoying. Customization is lacking like always and on top of that i hate how some cars got nerfed. When i was making my fd rx7 it only makes upper 400hp but it doesnt slide good because it doesnt have enough power. love the game but some things need to be fixed
I don't mind the cars being nerfed. They did that for realism for sure. But the rest is dumb, they deadass needa fix the rest.
If you're having issues with your car sliding, it could possibly just be you or a few others cause my cars slide with no problem as long as I make it like that even with at least 300-400hp

Could be your tire choice.....drift tires and not making them super wide would help you at lower power levels

Solid video mat, you covered some important issues! This game has really impressed me though, in so many areas. The off-roading is the best it’s ever been, actually having the ability to rock crawl. The drift smoke and car selection is insane. All interfaces are so much better to look at and downloading tunes is more informative. The size and elevation in the map is incredible. The main improvements I’d still like include:
- less game crashes on early model Xbox’s
- the photo mode should allow for change in time and weather
- the main issue for me is the untouched video editor. It’s not bad but should be accessible online (not just solo), allow for way more than 30secs of reusable footage, and offer a few dynamic presets like TC2 (action/landscape/vehicle).
The main thing now is connectivity issues man. I can deal with all the other little problems but my tandem buddies disappearing mid drift is a total buzz kill
Yeah i know me and my drift buddy have been playing since horizon 2 and we were slaying the other day mid drift and he disappeared and called it a day after that
Drivatar difficulties suck. I'm either destroying them or just rarely getting podium. Also wish there were more championships, not just ones limited to seasons.
I miss all the body kits and old school wheels and special versions of certain cars that were in Motorsport 2. Like the do luck nsx and supra . Or the top secret s15, or the blitz integra etc
I genuinely like the fast travel house. I've always been one to completely min/max and optimize the fun out of any game I play. If I'm given something convenient or something that gives you an advantage, I will take it 90% of the time. Even though fast travel from the start would've been nice, I liked having to fast travel nearby and drive the rest of the way in the beginning of the game when I was still exploring the map. It also gave me a nice goal to hit, and was so rewarding when I finally could fast travel anywhere I wanted, and hunted all the fast travel signs. That's just in my opinion though.
I love how they focus on character customization, but I can't put a beard on my guy...
Agreed...one thing I'll say....FH1 story line & cut scenes were awesome! Hopefully they can bring something like that up next time
My biggest gripe with Forza is the lack of evolution. It just feels like horizon 3 but with some slight improvements, more cars, a bigger map, and the eliminator. Especially lacking, is the customization. Not just visuals, but engine wise too. It feels like they're trying to bridge the gap between reality and arcade with the engine customization, but it just doesn't work well and feels exactly like need for speed where more expensive part just means more hp. They could do so much more. A lot of engines also have very inaccurate potential and upgrades. For example, getting a better engine block in fh5 increases horsepower, something that doesn't actually happen in real life. Also, engines in fh5 can just withstand whatever amount of horsepower they can potentially make in the game, even if you don't upgrade the block and engine internals, when real engines have certain power limitations based on how they've been upgraded (such as not having a good enough fuel system or engine internals for a certain power level). Adding engine limitations like this and more realistic upgrade paths would greatly increase the realism and just make the game more interesting. They also need to make certain engine's power capabilities more realistic. For example, the BMW 1M (n54 engine) only gains 49 hp with a single turbo upgrade, and the upgraded twins just copy the power graph of the single, whereas my personal real life car, a 335i (has n54, same engine as 1M) is making well into the 600-800hp territory with a single turbo upgrade. It feels like the only engine whose potential got updated to how people modify it's real life counterpart was the 2jz, but that was done in fh4.
A couple of my own nitpicks:
On the Logitech G923 wheel, the clutch pedal is completely broken. I’m able to map it to RS Up like normal, but it just doesn’t work at all while driving.
The extra buttons on the G923 also don’t work (LSB, RSB, Back, etc), so I had to remap a ton of buttons and basically lose out on features.
Speaking of remapping buttons, you can’t unmap any functions. You’re still unable to unmap Anna, and Forza Link is taking up another button that I could be using to switch the radio or open Telemetry.
The AI don’t only have new rubberbanding issues, they’re overall harder. For some this might be a good thing, but sometimes I just find myself dumbfounded by an X-Class BRZ outpacing my Sesto Elemento FE.
The entire gift system. I see where they were going with it and it’s overall a pretty nice addition, but it’s just being used by people who are grinding Super Wheelspins on the A90 Supra and Willys Jeep. It gets old fast when you receive 20 stock Willys Jeeps in one day.

The Car Collection glitch has already killed this game’s AH economy for rare cars. While I do admit it was tempting to get 20 Subaru 22Bs, having access to rare wheelspin and event cars that easily offset the Auction House
This might be a false positive, but loading times are so fast on Next-Gen consoles that you don’t even get to see your showboat emotes, making them pointless. The loading screen will focus in on your car for three seconds and then load into the race. And for most races, it doesn’t even show you the victory screen anymore, so what’s the point of the victory emotes?
Forza Link sounded cool on paper, but are you really ever itching to get into a race with a random person you’ve never met before? I’m trying to be anti-social damnit!
For some god forsaken reason, I’m unable to import any of my tunes or livery designs from any past Forza game. I’ve literally gone back and forth between FH4 and FH5 using Quick Resume and nothing ever transfers over. I had to say goodbye to the GT86 that I had tuned to my heart’s desire and leave it in the U.K.
Quick Resume for FH5 is broken most of the time. If you decided to leave it open in the background and play something else, there’s a 50/50 chance that the game will crash. And even if you do get back into the game, you have to deal with being disconnected and try to rejoin a server for 5 minutes straight just so you can play normally again
Low. Quality. Vinyls. Playground Games said they were gonna fix this, but they didn’t.
Please for the love of God just give us an option to enable and disable the launch control feature. It’s useful in some cases, but extremely hurtful in others.
Playground Games completely changed the Difficulty CR Boost system so certain settings no longer give you more credits.
No 360 Degrees of rotation in cockpit view. When driving with a wheel, it’s an extreme immersion breaker.
I know that it’s probably a licensing issue, but theres no Stig customization anymore. In FH4 I only used that outfit because it was completely gender neutral and hid your actual player model, unlike the Horizon race suits that had a transparent visor.
None of the Formula Drift cars feel good to drift. For me they just feel like 1,000HP cars with way too much torque and a wider steering angle. They just don’t feel pleasant at all to drift.
The mode change feature was overhyped by Playground Games. It works on exactly three cars.
I think that’s everything. While I do love this game, Playground Games really needs to crack down on fixing issues.
I also thought the disappearing was location based when I was driving around with my friends it would only happen in certain areas around the map. The other biggest thing I'm annoyed at by this game is how they didn't add in really any new models of certain cars. We still have all the same Audis,BMWs, and WHY are we still driving the Infiniti Q60 "Concept"??? The ACTUAL car has been out since 2015!
I think the gifting cars thing is to prevent people for buying cars with real money. It would be cool, but I think this was the best option
If they made cars less exclusive that wouldn't be a problem.
I work long ass days, so when I get home I like to sleep. On alot of my days off I still have things I have to do. I don't have time to grind a whole week (now can be a whole months) worth of races and events to get a car.
Hard to get items are cool to have, but it's not worth it when you have to plan ahead and leave reminders in your phone to go earn a car a certain week.
I was in the hospital when the c8 came out in 4, so I couldn't get it. Only way was the auction house and it took me days of sniping to get one, which is bullshit. They need to either put them as paid content, put them in wheel spins, or able to buy them with credits or forzathon points.

You can still do the afk method just not as fast. Porsche cayman S you can get 1 super and 1 regular spin for 14 SP. Or just 11SP for super spin
I feel you tbh I never used it more than twice I'd prefer to do the races but the game crashes every 20 min for me lol so I'd prefer they leave the jeep and fix the damn crashing

Get rid of the clothes, LIMIT AWD SWAPS for some online events, and I agree I had to save up to get the fast travel house and could’ve saved that 2 million credits.
If they'll get rid of clothes, you'll see a bunch of clones driving cars when taking photos. Also, TDU 1/2 had clothes too so totally nothing wrong with that. They only need to remove the cringe emotes
I play in single player, but:
1. Every drivatar's car accelerates off the line faster than you, no matter what car you're in.
2. Buying a better car to help your win chances makes no difference since drivatars adjust their speed/difficulty based on what car you're driving.
3. Trash AI that's hardcoded to keep the race close instead of actually racing you.
This is one of the most un-fun racing games I've played in the past 10 years and I regret spending money on it.
It seems like they took out turbo lag, too. The Peugeot 205 used to have this enormous turbo that had a crazy narrow power band with the turbo lag, and it was incredibly fun to drive. I built the same car this time around and there's no turbo lag at all.

PI system in the game seems like it was really messed up. It's almost a struggle now building some cars to S1 that used to be easy in FH4. Like I have cars with 1800hp which aren't even top of s1 class with full race tires.
The VQ sound in FH5 is pretty good especially in the interior. I love my trumpet

There's something like a 50% chance that upon starting an expedition mission that your difficulty settings will get switched back to default, forcing you to experience auto transmission
Also physics are beyond jank, why does every impact see my car doing everything in it's power to anomalously start flipping end over end, like dude, all I did was scrape the barrier wtf is happening
Also the AI cannot see the player and will swerve into you at any point because they don't know you're there
Really annoying doing a clean race 98% of the way through only to get punted off a corner by a "highly skilled" drivatar
My biggest issue is game breaking glitches. I've been trying to complete the V10 story to get the Jesko, but I can't get past chapter 6. The game thinks I haven't completed the chapter, even though I have multiple times, so I can't progress. It's been broken since launch, but they removed the super wheel spin from the Willy's! Oh and, if you create a route to make a lot of credits, just don't. I did a 60 mile race yesterday that took 21 minutes, and I only got 100k. Super bummed, there's a lot that needs to be fixed.
The AI is ruthless. When me and one other friend were doing random races, we would both set our drivatar difficulty to above average and they would just leave us in the dust. There was one time I had an S1 class and my friend and all the other AI were in class B and they were pulling away from me, going 180mph+.
Also, the mouse cursor staying on top 100% of the time unless you manually move it off the screen. Not that big of an issue unless you have your wheel set up and you forget to move it before a race.
My biggest gripe right now though, is the game not forcing you to use the paddles if the car never came with a manual, or making the 7 through 10 speed transmissions paddle only. It's annoying going through the "story" with my G27, only to find out that the car has a fuckin 9 speed. If they also made it to where paddles didn't require the use of the clutch because it's so god damn annoying having to switch my difficulty settings so I don't have to use the clutch in the fucking 7-speed "stock" "Vocho."
Really? That is strange, I usually race with stock cars and end up winning with 2-8 seconds in the lead. Maybe the Drivatar's go absolutely ape-shit when you upgrade your car?
@@solo8734 I've only noticed it in co-op and pvp with my friends. In solo im comfortable with Highly Skilled because at the beginning on the race they put up a fight but i mostly always come out ahead so long as my car isn't a stock D class.
David, people can fast travel almost anywhere on the map by simply traveling to any event that has an icon on the map. Major oversight. Do you remember car gifting in Horizon 1? That is exactly why you cannot directly gift cars to friends. People were exploiting that and selling cars for real life currency which is against the TOS.
One gripe I have with FH5 is the AI and that you lose all speed after you land a big enough jump in certain races, I've lost theses races countless times just because the drivertars took off the jump and landed a certain way which allowed them to keep more speed then I ever could, and the AI sometimes just defy physics and take a 90 degree turn at like 130 mph, it's stupid.
At least to me it seems like Forza 1 and 2 are amazing but completely unique and then 3, 4 and 5 are all the same just a different setting. Good video Dave!
My biggest gripe is that this is a $80 game that is full of bugs and it doesnt really appear that they changed anything on the surface. The games industry is fucked because they think they can get away with that garbage. It took me well over a week to find a fix to be able to use my ps4 controller when it worked perfectly fine on FH4, and now Im just kind of over it.

Good on the devs for making a very advanced and dynamic sound engine, but as one of my friends said, they dropped the ball when it comes to the basics.
In regards to customization, the way they showed it pre-launch was misleading. They showed the the Supra, the new Corvette and a couple of others, but most of those were the FH4 Upgrade Heros which is only a handful of cars. The rest got the same crap they’ve been using since the first Horizon. Another thing, why not make the livery editor better? Don’t get me wrong, there are some very talented people out there, but why not have some better choices than the generic clip art they’ve been using forever. I consider myself creative, but I don’t have hours and hours to devote on a livery.

Also more paint options with a carbon fiber paint list versus customized.

You can do launch control but you feather the clutch instead of the brake now. Sometimes it goes up to redline but you feather the clutch more and it comes back down. My supra usually stalls at 2k, first one will go to 4k or redline, then back down to 4k. You can get it lower to 3.2-3.5 and it works pretty well.

Will add another one. I am new to Horizon, so sometimes it's hard to figure out what car restrictions are for season playlist. Or even to find that event on a map.
People, especially gamers, _very_ rarely unite in one opinion but there isn't a soul on earth that likes emotes, horns, clothing, etc in the goddamn wheelspins. Not a single one.
I understand that, if taken out, it'd just be cars galore but just leave in the legendary items. It's that simple. Or, hell, give us the option to _reroll!_ No more common beanies, no epic clown horns, no more anger.
My main gripes with it are lack of customization, online issues (same as you), and rain.
Seriously, I have an Integra DC2 and an S2000 both in B class. Despite being fairly similar setups, when it rains the S2000 loses all grip and it's impossible to win. The Integra? Literally blowing past all the AI opponents in the first lap.
Same goes for offroad, RWD is unusable.
Do you remember the dodge demon in FH4? If you leave it stock it's impossible to drive cause of all the wheelspin, but if dial in the suspension and drivetrain to prevent wheelspin it becomes dogshit slow because it can't accelerate fast enough through the gears.

yeah i noticed the driveatars are borderline impossible and I think it's because they added two AI modes below novice (new racer and tourist). Which in turn means that all the other AI levels would need to be boosted. So unbeatable is really no chance in hell. expert is really the unbeatable level and so on
Can’t agree with fast travel right from the get go, because then people are just gonna teleport everywhere right from the start instead of actually driving around the map like they’re supposed to
Having fast travel anywhere locked behind an expensive house is a good thing I reckon
My gripe is the weak soundtrack. The music festival aspect of the game is basically gone, you could substitute the horizon festival sites for the main city's as hubs and no one would notice. It's now a glitch sandbox arcade racer that looks very pretty!

•Multiplayer layout: choosing your own class and not having a 5 race series would be much better imo.
•Leaderboard cheaters, ridiculous how many there are, makes leaderboards pointless
•I'd love to be able to watch leaderboard replays and download tunes directly from a leaderboard like you can in Motorsport.

I'm just saying the reason playground games probably wont allow you to gift a car to someone specific is because at that stage people can sell cars for real money and start services and I dont know if its agianst there code of conduct or something or they just dont want services like these to exist
Also since Forza Hub is going away there needs to be an overall Forza bank style system. I have 250+ million credits spread throughout all Forza’s to Motorsport 3. Would be nice to use the money that’s just sitting there.
Think its an amazing game but also agree with everything said in this video, it's stuff that should be an easy fix with a few updates tho

My buddy and I are actually the opposite when it comes to the story. We don't care whatsoever about the story and anytime it's mentioned we kinda just groan and tell them to shut up and let us drive. No matter the racing game I've never cared for the story. Don't give me some long winded story about becoming king of the streets, a Horizon boss, or whatever. Just give me a goal and how to reach it and leave me be to drive.

The SC gets basically the same kit with a slight variation (Vertex is boring AF) and the Tureno doesn't even get JDM spec bumpers or even the most common lips (Kits on 86s look terrible, so at least just give us lips!!).*
*- Speaking of the SC - they used a USDM SC300... in Australia in FH3. We have Soarers over here! Come on! And why the base model 300 and not the 400 at the very least!? Region specific vehicles is important.*
*- Ffs, it's time to retire the basic af Forza 'Race' bumpers and spoilers.*
*- The wheel selection and the lack of adjustments to wheel and tyre specs. My BIGGEST gripes with Forza. The same damn wheels throughout the series. AND THEY'RE ALL TERRIBLE. You also can't widen wheels. You can't make wheels smaller. You can't make individual changes from front and rear wheels/tyres. You can't increase or decrease dish. You can't change tyre specs enough (no wall height changes, no low profiles on small wheels, no stretched tyres for example). These are all options we had YEARS ago in NFS games. This is BASIC stuff.*
*- No options to change exhaust tips. Again, basic stuff.*
*- The paint and vinyl selection. Again, same choices from the start of the series. They were horrible then and they're even more horrible now.*
*- It's also incredibly stupid to be able to put 5 lug wheels on trucks. Just add a good selection of 6 lug wheels specifically for trucks. Or adjust hubs to each individual vehicle so they actually match.*
*- There's STILL calipers clipping through some wheels.*
*- And ffs, the voice actors, the animations, the cut scenes, the storylines. TERRIBLE. I cringe every time I hear and see them.*
*- The vehicle sounds are STILL average.*
*This series gets WAY more credit and attention than they actually deserve. A racing game is more than just environments. More attention should be paid to the main focuses - the cars and car culture.*
Everyone's talking about cars. We're all wishing we had certain cars and sometimes that just wouldn't work out but those aren't problems, those are preferences. The biggest problem is the connection of getting and staying online and just servers all together
Dont forget that the exhaust note is reversed when upgrading ls3 engines and a few others. Stock exhaust sounds like a cammed race car meanwhile the race exhaust sounds stock. Even motorsport 4 had different idles as you upgraded camshafts.
The reason why we can't give cars to people directly (I think) is because some people will ask real money for something like the Sesto FE. You pay them and they give you the car. And this would have happened if they implemented the system of giving a car to a specific person.
I've had DC issues on PC, I've had some luck with spins, I'm still learning This game as it's my first time playing a Forza game

@Terminalforlife (LL) you can buy them with credits 🤦♂️ and it wouldnt be op if it was like 5fp or 10fp on a gold roll. You can already get fp from the car mastery at either 5fp, 10fp or 15fp at the very top of the tree. Hell you could add fp into the super wheelspin instead of clothes and leave the normal spins as they are now.
My biggest complaints would be the lightning fast ai on highly skilled, since it seems like they are much much faster than they ever were in FH4, ( except the bugged Can-Am Maverick ) when the ai drove that in FH4, you would lose by 20 seconds.
Another annoying thing is that most V8 cars, when you change the exhaust to sport or racing, it changes the sound, from a thundering roaring v8, with a 90 degree cross plane crankshaft to a humming 4 cylinder with a 180 degree flat plane crankshaft, sadly this affects lots of v8 cars sadly, both European and American, the Bmw M3 E90 is one example, on racing exhaust it does not sound like a v8 anymore sadly.
This did not happen in FH4, where most V8.s sounded like V8s, even with sport and racing exhausts being fitted.
Another thing would be the bugs, oh my god, the bugs, worst one is the " loading loop " that will often happen randomly when you exit photo mode, exit pause menu, fast travel somewhere, and the worst thing about it : It removes the pop up props, like the treasure chests, the pathfinder baloons we had in the previous series, and also the photo mode props, only solution :
Exit Fh5, start playing another game, re-enter Fh5 and reload it from the start, then they would pop back up.

I'm loving the game so far. One complaint I have, and it's a small one, is the missing song information in the pause menu. I loved that about FH4. You could just snap to the pause menu and it had the song information (and even album art) of the song playing. I found that super convenient. Yes, you can just scroll through the radio stations and come back around to the song you're listening to, but that can be a bit annoying if you're in a menu, trying to race, or there is some race information in the way.
I really like how the exhaust and intake notes change when you change the parts

Oh can’t leave out when they boot you out of the game when a loading screen pops up (occasional) And I second the unrealistically low hp potential of certain cars.K swap has to be the biggest one.
I think instead of exhaust sliders there should be three race exhaust options, one muffled race exhaust, a steel straight pipe, and a titanium race exhaust. There are good performance mufflers for high hp street cars so that should be an option since some engines sound better muffled. Straight pipe for being obnoxious and titanium to change the pitch. It would be a unique more Forza way to do engine sound customization.
The worst thing that makes me furious is rubberbanding AI. Racing on two last difficulties is almost impossible to win, I'm not even mentioning V10 Scene 95 which is ridiculous.
Gifting car to a friend would be too easy to just exploit and grind cars/transfer money from different accounts. You just make some accounts, buy gamepass with Forza and just send everything to your main account. It would be especially dumb with rare season cars etc. Its good that this feature doesnt exist in this game, it would completely break the market and exploiters would have everything. Then developers would have to fight with that and make some changes to the market that would made it horrible for normal players

The reason sometimes your car just comes to a complete stop in a second Is because you disconnected and connected into another server
I was doing Ferrari Pisso festival challenge today. Get to the last part of it were you have to perform 3 or 4 daredevil skills, and that's when I realize I haven't seen one npc civilian vehicle in a week... So now I can't finish that part of the festival🤦
The customization is a joke. The new wheel selection is not even meh!

Love this game, been playing like crazy! On a side note, I know off the record is a sponsor and you have to talk them up but I just got off from a speeding ticket thanks to them. Didn’t have to show up to court, they went in to court for me. I paid less than my speeding ticket was going to be, definitely recommend it!
Really good video. Lots of very valid points. For the early ones, sounds like the typical "new adopter/new game" growing pains. It's new and everyone wants to play it. The servers are probably barely able to keep up. I'll wait and get the game later. But for everyone's sake I do hope they fix this ASAP
I really hate that we can't install different sets of wheels on the front and rear in a 2021 title. That and the fact that the engine doesn't change with an engine swop, especially annoying on buggies with visible rear-mounted engines.
