They do still have the longer vaca/holiday trip at the end of the season. And there was quite a scandal about that as well because the producers didn't tell the girls how to handle customs/immigration, so when the flight arrived at their destination (not spoiling where that is), the customs people thought they were sex workers and wouldn't let them enter the country. They were stuck in limbo for several days before the producers flew them to a third country and then back again, this time with proper paperwork and answers. Because apparently when a group of young beautiful women don't know how to answer why they're coming to the country or how long they'll be there, and no producers step in to help them or explain the situation, that's what happens. None of this was disclosed on the show, BTW, it was all in a "behind-the-scenes" special from another network years after the fact.
My grandparents lived in Jamaica, Queens. They once had a postcard sent to them that was accidentally sent to Jamaica the country, and then redirected to Jamaica, Queens, with the appropriate stamps and seals on it. They proudly displayed it on their fridge and I wish I had it now!
imagine going to a doctor and instead of giving you a list of medicine you need to buy or a list of exercises you need to do, the doctor says "think healing"
The comments from Eva towards Kelle are gross. I never felt like i fit in with other black kids growing up because my parents were military, and moving around a lot meant i grew up around lots of different types of people. I got the “you act white” and “which one of your parents are white?” comments all the time when i moved to Southern US. Just because someone’s not a stereotype or a caricature of what you think a black person is doesnt make them less black 🤦🏾♀️
Kellie's internalized racism would be difficult for those who actually have dealt with being called a monkey (etc etc etc racism wears many masks). Just like internalized homophobia would be most difficult for those in the LGBTQIA+ community or internalized masogyny is more triggering to those who identify as women. Class plays a part of it, but not the main issue.
Yeah, I think the only way class plays a part is that she's grown up in a more upper class environment where the mindset is traditionally more racist anyway. She would have been fed that mentality that she was less than bc she was black and has probably had AT LEAST one person in her life tell her her lips look like a monkey's.
That's the vibe I got. It's not the Gucci pants but the fact that she's wearing them while saying she's a white girl with a tan, like Black girls can't have Gucci. If she just showed off her Gucci and talked about her apartment and shopping on 5th Avenue I'd say yeah, she's a spoiled brat who needs some learning and those other girls need to work on their insecurity, but she's talking about how white she is while doing it.
I’m going to be honest, Luxeria really looks regal, and she’d definitely look phenomenal with a crown on her head, because she definitely is an Empress.
It always baffles me when Tyra or Janice tell their models to be "less sexy/hoochie/etc" in the era where advertisers clung to the idea that sex sells. Most of these young women grew up surrounded by lewd/promiscuous advertisements so it only makes sense that they would replicate what they saw.
I think the reason we loved this show as teens, was how colourful it was, and 'what kind of photoshoot are they doing this episode?' I mean, it often was them dressing up as the zodiac signs, corpses, vampires, other ethnicities - I loved the makeup, hair and fun shoots (yes I know, some were problematic but we didn't think like this back in the day), not really the drama.
You know, it irks the hell out of me whenever Janice adamantly says that she is "THE world's first supermodel" because she straight up is not. The first known supermodel (at least here in America) is a woman named Evelyn Nesbit, and she was being called a supermodel by the press in 1901!! So stuff it Janice!
I totally agree with your take on Kelli. I don’t see her comments on her life being anything wrong. But I do wonder if there’s something we didn’t see. I had a rift with a friend over their Privilege when they went on working visa in Australia and new zeland. They knew that was my dream and told me if I wanted it that bad I’d just do it. She couldn’t understand it’s not just that easy for everyone. Her parents paid for her education and living expenses. Yes we both worked but she worked part time and got to save 100% of what she made. I worked 2 jobs, paid everything out of pocket and sent money home to help my mom and disabled brothers while in college. I had to take loans and go into debt to get an education. I couldn’t just up and travel for a year. I had responsibilities. But to her we both worked and went to school and thus were the same. We didn’t really recover from that. It made things awkward when over and over she couldn’t understand why I didn’t have the things she did when I worked so much. I love parents who support and set their kids up for success, that just wasn’t my situation
jessica kobeissi did a commentary on this photoshoot and was also talking about the dangers of wearing heels on such rocky and unsteady ground like this, she had a lot of agreeable things to say
ANTM was and still is so messy-especially through adult eyes like you said. Also Biscuit is absolutely adorable! The puppy stage is hard work but enjoy it because it goes so fast. My schnauzer was so cute as a puppy and now he’s turning 10 in May and his brother turned 11 back in February (he was a rescue)
You and Roly are honestly my favourite RUclipsrs! You both make me laugh so much when I feel down. And omg I love the gorgeous fur baby🥺I have a dachshund too❤️
I can relate to Kelle a lot. As a minority it feels like I have to be more "authentic" in order to be accepted. If you don't act or look a certain way it's like you are abandoning your culture and it is frustrating when you don't fit neatly into your cultural identity.
It also reads a internalized racism because she said she grew up surrounded by a lot of white people which probably contributed to how she feels about certain parts of her body.
Same! I don't fit into any stereotypes at all. There are so many beautiful dimensions to a single race/colour, quite like Luxeria mentioned. I'm also seeing internalised racism, which is so sad but I've been there and I understand why, with how society is generally 🖤 Also, I find it completely valid to say that some of the black contestants were discriminating against Kelle even though they're both black
@@violete.duncan-williams6357 Please dont use "internalized racism" if you dont know the person of color personally. Its very offensive and frustrating. Thank you.
This is what we call colorism. It is a long complicated thing. I try to know and recognize my proximity to whiteness because I am lightskinned. But at the same time there is no one definition of what being black is. This time period of the show sadly this was the normal reactions but we are coming along a lot honestly.
Leah: This doesn’t mean I’m giving up, or that you won’t see me out there. Luxeria: Gone into the night, never to be seen again. Well, it’s been decided then. 😂
When Jessica Kobeissi did a video on that Jamaica photoshoot, someone commented just "There are so many different animals though" LOL like what do you want, Jay? You want me to channel a Gecko? Manatee? Chinchilla?
Congrats on the new fur-baby! My service dog, a boxer named Makani Kai, and I love watching your videos... well, she really only looks at tv if some is either screaming or crying. Nevertheless, I enjoy them. lol
They still have a destination later in the series. It was Japan. I remember because I was into lolita (Japanese street fashion) at the time and there was a challenge about it.
i think they were all tired and Ann had a mental breakdown fighting her anxiety and phobia of flying... imagine not sleeping all night, having a panic attack and then, in the middle of the night having to pose and "be fashion" in heels on some rock... girlie was going through it and they should be happy for her even being there.
It could also be trauma. I came from a comfortable household (I couldn't afford to go on school trips, but I never worried about food) so I never had those struggles; however, my father used to rip into me emotionally and make me feel like I might as well die because I could never be good enough for anyone. When everyone starts talking shit about you in your new (even temporary) home, it can be triggering? Kelly might have been pushed her whole life to be perfect, because what's the excuse, you have everything given to you, and when 12 people that you live with start calling you out on the way you phrased her own insecurity (I am not qualified to talk about that statement) it might have brought some stuff up.
How is it possible that Yaya didn't win? She is so beautiful it's ridiculous! I am glad she has a movie career now. And Leah is out? She is gorgeous! Her photo wasn't even bad at all. PS I need to add, puppy is super cute!!!! ❤
Others might have said this but I think Eva's issue with Kelle commenting that she's like "a white girl with a really good tan" isn't that they need to have the same experiences, but that Kelle is pushing down other black women. She's basically going "I'm not like other black girls", and it's fine for her to be who she is but not if she's defining who she is by pushing down others who are more "stereotypical".
I think it’s far more indicative of her formative environmental experiences and feeling like she had to fit in to a largely sheltered white community. I watched this in high school as a teen, and I saw a lot of self hatred in Kelle. A lot a lot. I’m still at the beginning of this epsiode rewatch, and I’m not sure if this is the episode with the magazine model photo and subsequent animal comparison storyline in it, but you can tell that Kelle is deeply uncomfortable with herself and I don’t see her words as putting others down, I’ve always seen them as putting herself down.
@@janesays1278 Yes, you make a good point and I don't think she was trying to put others down, but I think that happened unintentionally. I can definitely see why it would have been hurtful to Eva and others.
Actually T-mobile still exists (at least here in Poland) and I still use it. 😆 Btw I feel like whenever somebody mentions they are priviliged because they were born in such a family, but they don't brag about it, just mention it, other people will almost always backlash at them and try to make them feel bad about it. At least that's my experience.
I wanted one of those sidekicks soooo bad. I was so happy when I got my first phone with a keyboard. No longer had to press numbers 5 to 20 times (cause I'd keep missing the letter I was looking for) for each letter.
I absolutely do not believe that all of these girls had a passport on week one of shooting, and it makes me think they picked the finalists based on who has passports. I didn't get my first passport until I was 29, and that's not unheard of especially in the midwest.
When Kelly said "I'm wearing Gucci pants, I can't help that" while crying into her salad I gagged a little bit. Completely oblivious and not self aware at all, but again she is very young and naive here and we've all said things that we wish we hadn't and hopefully we can grow and learn from new experiences and from different people from all sorts of backgrounds as well. P.S. I feel very bad for Anne here and related to her a little bit in certain instances, I hope she is doing well now! Codependency will not get you very far in this life sis!
But she was asked about them apparently, so it's cruel of the others to judge and ostracize her for it. If she was flaunting her wealth, sure, but it doesn't sound like she did.
Kelly gets a really bad edit this season. I reached out to her once to acknowledge this and tell her she did a great job despite everything and she was so lovely and gracious in return. I like her.
I think Kelle is probably a great person tbh. I just think that she said things without context and was sheltered a bit. It's not Kelly's job to be the spokes-person for black stereotypes. Just because she isn't saying how she loves her black skin every five minutes doesn't mean she doesn't love herself. She's obviously aware she is a gorgeous girl or she wouldn't have tried getting on the show.
Lux talking about class in that segment was so nice and eloquent and compassionate. As a person from less than privileged background I appreciate the reminder to not feel personally attacked by the mere existence of these who come from families welthier than mine
This is gonna be the beginning of the downfall for poor Kelle until her sad elimination. No spoilers for the people who didn't watch it, but you know what I mean when you watch the later episodes, Luxeria. Edit: Clarification, Kelle didn't mean to be ignorant for saying that. You should watch her interview with Oliver TwiXt where she fully explained that ignorant situation.
I find it so weird that they got to New York and said 'the city that never sleeps' then flew them off somewhere else immediately..Like what was the point in even going to New York first then? Also they forgot to film Ann freak out about the flight home, only on the way there. But girl, yes T-Mobile is still a thing 😂 they are literally one of the biggest phone services
I have always loved reality TV. I am currently bingeing love is blind. You have made me really watch and catch errors and question how produced things are and why they say what they say and how they say it. Thank you so much for changing how I watch TV and making it even better. You're the best.
I know I’m a bit behind, but congratulations on your new pupswahlia!! He’s so cute. I have an instagram now and I’m following you both (dang that sounds creepy). I saw a black kitty go under a fence the other day and an identically sized/shaped tabby kitty came out, and I said yo my hubby, “they changed from and evening chiffon to a daytime tweed!” I wanted to take a picture of both of them but some teens rolled up and scared them away just as I was taking the picture. (Me shaking my mid 30s fist, you dang kids and your rap music!)
I don't know if the “act black” thing is a thing everywhere else but in America, it is very much a thing. I’ve had to deal with this a lot growing up. You are almost alienated from other black people because they feel you're acting too white based on the way you talk or your music tastes. It is also annoying because white people will make comments about you being “a good one” or saying you're an Oreo. People will also insinuate that you are unhappy with your skin color. I’m glad this changing with more black women who act and dress differently coming to the forefront. I am and have always been happy with my dark skin and coils. I am also very proud of my ancestors and their ability to overcome slavery and bigotry to open so many doors for me now. Sorry to get preachy but I have always found this interesting and infuriating.
About the personality comment... I've actually been denied a full annual raise because the manager didn't like my personality 😂😂 that's legit what she said, which I thought was just hysterical, because to me, my personality is who I am, I think the word she was looking for was "attitude". Because while my personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who YOU are 😂😂 so yeah, I didn't get a full 40 cent annual raise because I'm an introvert, lmao.
Kelle is 19 years old. She's a child. There is a big difference between 19 and 22. Biscuit is divine. Having a dog has been the best thing for my mental health. I know you love the gym but I'm 53 and past the gym but I walk Coco (my Labrardoodle) for at least 5km every day and it makes me feel so good.
Tyra sitting them all down and asking them about their insecurities one by one only to bring up YaYa's skin texture YET AGAIN during the judgement was really dog of her, imo. Also I think it's sus how they have the bikini shoots first, like so they can have more ammo to use against the models and beat any confidence outta them early on. I don't have the words for it, but it feels almost like cult tactics...
I just watched an interview with Lisa from cycle 5 on SLOAN’s RUclips channel and she said exactly this. Before the season that had to fill out this psych evaluation with hundreds of questions. Originally production said it was to make sure all the girls where strong enough for reality tv. But actually that used all the responses to manipulate them through the season. Lisa detailed childhood sexual abuse and a fractured relationship with her narcissistic mother and they would bring up the SA during interviews to make her emotional. At one point when they were outside the US they told Lisa her mother had been in an accident and was in the hospital. Wild Stuff

I wanna go to queens so bad (I am from England but live in Wales)
I was ready for the mic to drop and Tyra said to say “Jamaica, Queens🎉”.
Bc we know she’s more than capable of pulling that rug lol
My grandparents lived in Jamaica, Queens. They once had a postcard sent to them that was accidentally sent to Jamaica the country, and then redirected to Jamaica, Queens, with the appropriate stamps and seals on it. They proudly displayed it on their fridge and I wish I had it now!
imagine going to a doctor and instead of giving you a list of medicine you need to buy or a list of exercises you need to do, the doctor says "think healing"
"embody the spirit of a healthy person" 💀💀
Hahaha!
Great point
That's the vibe I got. It's not the Gucci pants but the fact that she's wearing them while saying she's a white girl with a tan, like Black girls can't have Gucci. If she just showed off her Gucci and talked about her apartment and shopping on 5th Avenue I'd say yeah, she's a spoiled brat who needs some learning and those other girls need to work on their insecurity, but she's talking about how white she is while doing it.
I’m going to be honest, Luxeria really looks regal, and she’d definitely look phenomenal with a crown on her head, because she definitely is an Empress.
Oooo! A tiara with black pearls and chocolate diamonds! See it in your mind!
A black crown or tiara would look gorgeous on her. I can’t imagine anything else for our gothic queen
I wouldn't abolish the monarchy if she was the queen.
It’s because if her amazing posture!
And now she has her own version of a Corgi too!
I live for Luxeria announcing, "the MOON" ... 😅😅 Makes me laugh, every time🩶
I love to start my mornings off with a little “Scandal Girls” 🤭
👀 a little scandal to keep the heart going
It always baffles me when Tyra or Janice tell their models to be "less sexy/hoochie/etc" in the era where advertisers clung to the idea that sex sells. Most of these young women grew up surrounded by lewd/promiscuous advertisements so it only makes sense that they would replicate what they saw.
Luxeria asking who Nicole is is perfect foreshadowing for this season 😂
Not the CC changing Tyras name to TYRANT 😂😂😂
Biscuit needs to be a permanent co-host! ❤
Did they seriously shout Karma Sutra at the Indian model while she was modelling? Is that supposed to be a compliment?
Oh my god I just double checked and they did??? Vile!
Tyra "you guys arnt getting any sleep tonight"
Lux "because your all going to do meth" I spat my red bull out and died 😂☠️
An hour long discourse of ‘America’s Next Top Scandal Girls’? Yasssssss 🔥
As always!!
I feel like when Kelle said about her mouth it sounded like she was repeating something that other people had said to her
As a girl from Poland having a French husband, I loved your analogy, and it's very on point & observant (as always on your channel) Lots of love❤
You’ve made my Monday, and the pup is adorable as ever! ♥️♥️♥️

Will it be “wonderful, fabulous”?
I think the reason we loved this show as teens, was how colourful it was, and 'what kind of photoshoot are they doing this episode?' I mean, it often was them dressing up as the zodiac signs, corpses, vampires, other ethnicities - I loved the makeup, hair and fun shoots (yes I know, some were problematic but we didn't think like this back in the day), not really the drama.
Yeah thats exactly why I loved it, I loved the spectacle side
And omg I love the gorgeous fur baby🥺I have a dachshund too❤️
Thankyou so much! He is my LIFE 😂
No problem!! Mine is too she’s legit my baby😂❤️
Same❤
I can relate to Kelle a lot.
Biscuit is top model puppy material 😍Congrats on his first ✨scandal girls✨viewing, an important milestone indeed🐶🍼
Leah: This doesn’t mean I’m giving up, or that you won’t see me out there.
Luxeria: Gone into the night, never to be seen again.
Well, it’s been decided then. 😂
If only stripping and the deadbeat dad was the saddest part of Cassie's storyline. I hope she's doing ok.
I hope no one ever fucked with that girl's brownies again!
When Jessica Kobeissi did a video on that Jamaica photoshoot, someone commented just "There are so many different animals though" LOL like what do you want, Jay? You want me to channel a Gecko? Manatee? Chinchilla?
“It’s like a phone with internet” I just turned 37 march 13th so yeah I feel old too LOL and T-Mobile still exists here in the states
Anne is giving big stalker energy and it's a little scary tbh. I really really hope she got some therapy at some point for that.
The nerve,the Gaul,the insolence ! 😂
The GUMPTION!
Biscuit is a STAR ⭐ *Juno Birch voice* stunning!
😂😂😂
Congrats on the new fur-baby! My service dog, a boxer named Makani Kai, and I love watching your videos... well, she really only looks at tv if some is either screaming or crying. Nevertheless, I enjoy them. lol
59:06 RUNNNN JENNIFER 😂. As soon as Tyra made i comment about her long hair I knew what was up 🤣
They still have a destination later in the series. It was Japan. I remember because I was into lolita (Japanese street fashion) at the time and there was a challenge about it.
Pain is relative to experience. Small struggle for one can be enormous for another. Also, you look stunning!
Found this channel last Friday and have been binge watching ever since. Luxeria is hilarious but tells the truth and very unbiased
i think they were all tired and Ann had a mental breakdown fighting her anxiety and phobia of flying... imagine not sleeping all night, having a panic attack and then, in the middle of the night having to pose and "be fashion" in heels on some rock... girlie was going through it and they should be happy for her even being there.
ok but like... being that codepended since the first second of the show... girlie please. trust no bitch.
Biscuit is so on brand with his blonde hair! Congratulations on you new puppy!
Both you and Biscuit have stolen my heart love you Luxipoo
Thankyou 🥰🥰
Not so friendly reminder that Cassie had an eating disorder so even though Tyra added that "you dont have to lose weight" the damage was already done
There's a neighborhood in New York called Jamaica, and I was totally expecting them to just get bussed over there.
How is it possible that Yaya didn't win? She is so beautiful it's ridiculous! I am glad she has a movie career now. And Leah is out? She is gorgeous! Her photo wasn't even bad at all. PS I need to add, puppy is super cute!!!! ❤

Omgggggg Biscuit!!! 😍😍😍 I keep rewatching the video of him digging on the corner of the couch and I just can’t enough of it 🥹🥹
It’s actually his own little seat! Curtesy of aunty Roly 😂
Oh heavens! 14 episodes and we're on number 2!! Lots to talk about!
To be fair, she actually said *other* people have said she’s “like a white girl with a really good tan.”
I feel like all of us in the livestream exploded as we saw Biscuit and when they go to the US, they can always be renamed Cookie.
😂😂😂😂
Actually T-mobile still exists (at least here in Poland) and I still use it. 😆 Btw I feel like whenever somebody mentions they are priviliged because they were born in such a family, but they don't brag about it, just mention it, other people will almost always backlash at them and try to make them feel bad about it. At least that's my experience.
It still exists in the US too
Yup ! They just bought sprint
Yeah I live in Seattle and our baseball teama field is called t-mobile park now😂
I wanted one of those sidekicks soooo bad. I was so happy when I got my first phone with a keyboard. No longer had to press numbers 5 to 20 times (cause I'd keep missing the letter I was looking for) for each letter.
Eva wasn't always likable, but she had an It factor. She's memorable and entertaining, and manages to be a good model on top of it.
32:48 I expect this to be clipped into many future videos 😂 perfect!
I absolutely do not believe that all of these girls had a passport on week one of shooting, and it makes me think they picked the finalists based on who has passports. I didn't get my first passport until I was 29, and that's not unheard of especially in the midwest.
I’m pretty sure they get information on what type of things they need to have/bring before entering the competition.
Watching this again as an adult makes a lot of the body issues I had as a teen make sense lol. 2 Months pregnant?! Pshhh
Loving your tattoo progress!!
PS Biscuit is 200% America's Next Top Modog
Biscuit is the most beautiful dog ever 😢 love how he matches you with the gorgeous hair! Great video girl 😊
Congrats on being a dog mom
When Kelly said "I'm wearing Gucci pants, I can't help that" while crying into her salad I gagged a little bit. Completely oblivious and not self aware at all, but again she is very young and naive here and we've all said things that we wish we hadn't and hopefully we can grow and learn from new experiences and from different people from all sorts of backgrounds as well.
P.S. I feel very bad for Anne here and related to her a little bit in certain instances, I hope she is doing well now! Codependency will not get you very far in this life sis!
Yeah, Kelly was only 19 in this. These women are so young I'm not surprised they are so naive and put their foots in their mouths
But she was asked about them apparently, so it's cruel of the others to judge and ostracize her for it. If she was flaunting her wealth, sure, but it doesn't sound like she did.
wow, you put juuussttt enough of a disclaimer to get away with saying some judgemental shit about a bunch of teenagers lol.
'I can't help that my pants are Gucci 😭' destroyed me lmaooooo 🤣🤣🤣
Love love love everytime u use the "it's fashion" pit stop clip😂
Lux talking about class in that segment was so nice and eloquent and compassionate. As a person from less than privileged background I appreciate the reminder to not feel personally attacked by the mere existence of these who come from families welthier than mine
The queen is back 🖤🖤🖤 Little Biscuit is soo precious 😍
Yaaaaaas🎉🎉!!!!!! Cannot wait to watch this later Miss Lux. Love you❤
Enjoy!!
That's a spoiler. :-P
Ma'am!! your sleeve!!! When did you have that done?! Love it!!
I find it so weird that they got to New York and said 'the city that never sleeps' then flew them off somewhere else immediately..Like what was the point in even going to New York first then? Also they forgot to film Ann freak out about the flight home, only on the way there. But girl, yes T-Mobile is still a thing 😂 they are literally one of the biggest phone services
your laugh is so chaotic 🤣 i love it!
Flying makes my IBS& Cyclic vomiting syndrome flare up, so I get super bad anxiety about traveling.
Oh we still have check in desks in america. I live in San Francisco and sometimes the personal machines are not working so you go to the checkin desks
Bruh I'm on the same boat
Kelle is 19 years old. She's a child. There is a big difference between 19 and 22.
Biscuit is divine. Having a dog has been the best thing for my mental health. I know you love the gym but I'm 53 and past the gym but I walk Coco (my Labrardoodle) for at least 5km every day and it makes me feel so good.
Yaya was to intelligent and to real to be on this show. But hey it gave her a successful acting career after the show
Biscuit is absolutely adorable! 😍We almost have a zoo with rescues here. 3 dogs, 4 cats and 3 horses ❤
Wild Stuff
Danilo did the Hair on the Say you'll be there music video by the legendary SPICE GIRLS
