I love the technique you used with baby rounded egg plants and string beans that would give out a lot of awesome performance taste. i'll give it a try for sure with out Prahoc. All of my family like Prahoc and i am the only one family that do not i try over and over just couldn't shallow since i was in Pol Pot. Plear Saich Ko is looking mighty delicious Thank you sis for posting
Would you please make more beef dish i wood like that very much. I am a beef, fish, and chicken kind of guy not to much in to pork once in a great wild i'll have some pork on the other hand my wife like pork.
I don't recall cooking the meat. At least from what I've seen. The lemon juice mixed with the raw meat will cook it sort of. Or tenderize it. And then just eat it like that. I don't know, it's just what I've seen.
,+Nary Skai You're right, sometimes I also soak the beef in lime juice and use it like that. If cook it, I only make it a quick sear on the outside of meat, so the inside is still raw and juicy.
with out peanuts????and with Prahoc ?????OK, But in Kompong Som they're not doing same way of you.Anyway you know the beef salad is one of my favourite dishes from Cambodia and Prahoc I cannot heat that sorry. But i would like to tell you that you post a very clearly présentation, good job,but try to make with some fried peanuts and with out prahoc, angon tchilane bon
Kompong Som style makes my mouth watery too! There're variety Cambodian beef salad. For the sauce one may choose to use uncooked or heated minced Prohoc, fish sauce or even anchovy. For the extra nutty topping, beside roasted grind rice, other nuts such as roasted walnut, almond, pecan can also be used--though peanut is common , cost effective and easy to find in South East Asia
AngkorSpice For the extra nutty topping, beside roasted grind rice, other nuts such as roasted walnut, almond, pecan can also be used-- though peanut is common, cost effective and easy to find in South East Asia
Hi ! I think most Cambodians prefer the small bird's eye hot-spicy chili in a beef salad. But for people more sensitive to spice just bell peppers works as a vegetable.
LOVE the background music and your instructions and presentation! Thank you!
+Kyla King Thank you, I appreciated it for dropping by. The music is credited to Khmer Oldie

Khmer cuisine is delicious
Diana Ung, there is no tumeric powder in this. The galanga is a bit orange because it is frozen, I didn't have any fresh ones with me.
why is the galanga orange when you grind it? did you add tumeric or some kind of powder also?

Would you use 1tbs of fish sauce instead?
Yes, you can use fish sauce. Canned anchovies you can find at American supermarkets are also a good replacement for prahok(fermented fish paste).
You should add the recipe UNDER THE VIDEO so wee cann all do it.
I use a bit of fish sauce and prohok lol..
