@@corsomaximahu69 I don't think this applies to assignments as well as to studying in general. Let's say you are writing your conclusion for a paper. It is a complicated thing and if you take a quick break of 5 minutes, it is easy to lose your flow and forget what you wanted to write. When you study a summary of your notes for a test, then taking a 5 minute break doesn't cause you to lose your flow, mainly because what you are studying is already on paper. That's my take on it at least. For example, when working on an assignment like a research paper, it works better for me to just work for 4 hours straight and just take a break when eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.

Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. *God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.* As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him. Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE! Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals! The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil. I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God! Open your heart to God, repent of your sins (he will forgive you), and let him direct your path. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, lest you walk with the devil and follow him to hell.

If you study longer than that, there's a high probability that you lose focus. You can go back to the same subject to continue the focus. And if you can't grasp a topic in 30 minutes, you aren't studying in small chunks. You need to break up the material. You should be able to work on a few concepts in that time. If you do more, you end up doing less.@@fabricioface
@@MasqueradeCrewwhen you start to focus on something then something suddenly cut off your focus (an alarm for example) it will take you more than 20 minutes to return to where you were at, especially if you built a mental model of something you are working on, from programming pov (a very mental draining activity)
I mean, I feel as though you're implying people simply don't like studying. But if we do consider the possibilities other than that, a good one would be to sleep for ten to fifteen minutes.
I think, it's easier to get back after 5 minutes, cause if you take a long break say 30-60 mins, you'll always feel you need 5 more minutes, in short, you become lazy after a certain time and you don't want to get back to work. Others might benefit from some other way, 5-10 minutes break works good for me...
@@varunpurohit4939 If I only have a 5 minute break, I feel like I've not enjoyed myself in the slightest. 30 minutes leaves me with far more energy and motivation to get back into my work.
I literally told my boss that if he wants me to stay for longer I want double overtime pay for each hour and seeing how short staffed we are he literally can't afford to fire me you don't work for your boss they work for you remember that
If it's in any agreement of employment what boss asks you, then you will be fired or written up. And overtime is hourly employees only and only if company provides it.
This is actually grounded in science, it shows that if you take random breaks in which you close your eyes and just free the mind for a short amount of time your neurons process way faster the information you studied
That’s if you have self control Those 5 minutes could easily turn into 10-20 mins then you’re like I’ll just give myself 30 mins - then it turns into an hour and suddenly you’re like “oh well I already wasted all this time, I will study tomorrow” 😂
if you don't have self control as a young adult. working on it should be your top priority. "no self control" is an excuse parent's use to cover for their kids. it's not something a late teen or early 20 something should be using to excuse their own behavior when they have full agency over. like most things worthwhile, you aren't born with self control. it's something you build for yourself if you ever want to feel like and be treated like a mature human being.
what a load of nonsense. I have been through college, through school. There comes many times when a student can't take it anymore and their body wears off.
Hey if u kept saying im lazy , im not good at anything bla bla bla ,u'll be really like this Make a difference ,a change in your life, stop being like the most of people ,they only do what they feel they want to do But u try to be special and make a good life for yourself
If u study like this for 6 hours then, 1 hour = 2 half hour 6 hours = 12 half hours After half hour 5 min break Break time=12*5 = 60 min (1 hour) So 6hr - 1hr = 5hr So 5hrs of studying and 1hr of break time.
Recharging is not the same as changing batteries Studying takes stamina, and it can be imagined as a bar of patience that goes down slowly but goes up slowly. You don't magically gain all of your stamina back in 5 minutes You aren't going to run a PR, rest 5 minutes, then run the same PR
No, work and learning have completely different impacts on the body. Standing all day at work will cause bodily problems, hurt your feet, increase chances of heart attack and blood clots. Simply playing a videogame and taking a break every 30 minutes or so just lets your brain learn the game faster. And let's say we bring this break stuff back to work. The body doesn't recharge when you're doing work and labor. It's like saying your body will recover every 30 seconds after doing 3 minutes of a workout. You might feel better but you're 100% still worse, and exhausted, and depleting yourself
That's what I'm saying. Not just for coding, for studying also. When you take a break, you mentally detach from what you were doing and need to get back into what you were doing. By the time you're understanding what you were doing and got into a workflow again, your next 5 minute break awaits, tearing your workflow apart and throwing you back to the beginning.
@@pranjaymehtalia8163 I'm not sure. I only really start to learn effectively when I learn for longer than 20 to 30 minutes. How long can you learn before becoming so unproductive that you need a break?

If they do, they will die. Not immediately, but death is certain. Eve ate the fruit and gave Adam some to eat as well. And he did. That showed that humans are sinners and not perfect. That is why Jesus came to Earth to save humans of their sins. This leads to a relationship with God(the main reason) and eternal life. He did that by dying on the cross. 3 days later, he resurrected. "Gooaaoo batt, Btat bab ga" Were the words the Baby said as i tried to start a conversation with him. this happened exactly 4 years ago, when i was having my 5 minute break. The Baby has brought upon me those otherworldly knowledge, which made me learn about the laws of time and space, the exact number of stars, and the last digit of pi. From then on i started to perceive things in a different perspective, further enlightening me and increasing my knowledge, until i finally had enough knowledge to know how to traverse time, it was only the materials that i needed. I once again searched for the Baby, to thank him for the knowledge he has taught me, however i couldn't find him. It was only a matter of time before i got the materials needed on hand. I have succesfully created a time machine that will bring me back to the prehistoric era, so i can teach this knowledge to our ancestors, to further develop the human society. As a person with ADHD this was exactly how i used to study for exams back in school days. Nobody told me to do it this way, but I came up with it myself. Glad to see someone giving this extremely effective tip to others. I was ridiculed a lot on my school days by my teachers and parents for my small attention span and inability to sit at the same place and study for hours ( my PR is 40 minutes ). This is indeed the best way to study.
For me it was the opposite. I wasn't able to follow the rest of the lecture after a break in between.. So, I used to miss out the rest of the lectures..
I'm confident ADHD existed and was just as prevalent in the 1950's as it is today. Technology just made it more apparent by providing a plethora of shinny things to distract us and exacerbating the problem.
Stop making fucking excuses. People like you accentuate the issue further. They had their own problems, we have our own. It was probably easier to study without a war happening at your doorstep too, wasnt it? It was probably easier to study without being drafted into the military too, right?
damn bro you were this close to being right. The trick to studying Is to live in the early 50's in a wealthy family when you could get a high level job at 25 yo after studying very little in a private school
Except there’s not a whole lot of “fun” things you can do in 5 minutes. As a result, that 5 minutes just turns into you thinking about having to get back to studying in 5 minutes and dreading it. It was always like cardio to me: hard to get going but easy to keep going once I’ve started. Stopping every half hour would mean I’m just constantly doing the hardest part.
Someone has to say it lol. Basically you know deep down it's easier to study 6hrs straight than have adequate breaks for 5.5hrs... people end up burning out for the sake of real efficiency.
how do you go to your own roommate 's room..isn't he or she supposed to stay with you like that is the point of calling him or her your roommate in the first place....

It was very effective for me because the rewards encouraged me to keep studying. I passed the exams! 🙂
This is so true! At medical School, I found I was getting brain fatigued too easily by putting in extended hours of inefficient, uninterrupted study. I changed my routine, concentrated profoundly for 20 minutes, attempting to remember everything that I had studied, and in fact, I invariably did. -Then took 10 minutes off and did something low-grade physical. For me a physical distraction was far more important than say, watching television or a non-physical activity. I put in fewer hours of study and my grades went up.
i love these kinds of examples because they always base the ideas that everything can be in a fixed state of quality and quantity ... when actually in practice it's nowhere near the truth :)

It's worth mentioning that these experiments are carried out in ideal conditions, and we cannot know with certainty if this happens in real situations, but it is still useful information and super interesting. What I would recommend is to try it out and see if it works, but remember that these things are not absolute and they can be adjustable to one's personal situation... at the end of the day, we all learn in different ways, and this applies to any other learning method.
Never heard of this crap until I moved to a Western Country. You're competing with people who can study efficiently for hours with no break. The break just makes you lose focus and concentration!
@aaaquascaping9774 not really. This break allows you to recharge for a bit, and then get back to working with even more focus. I've actually tried this, and every time I used this I would manage to get all school work done, and studied for the quizzes/tests I had the day after. Compared to me doing no break where I got burnt out after 3 or 4 hours and losing focus
Write it all down. Write down when you started studying, when you finished that subject/topic and when you went back to study. It helps build consistency since you can't lie to yourself about the amount of study you actually did.
These tips don't work for everyone. Studies like this almost always talk about the average, and then other people think it's the most effective version for every individual when it's not. Certain things like eating right and sleeping are universal truths but this kinda thing isn't always most effective for everyone.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NEED God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ!! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn to Jesus and let Him truly be our Lord continually. If He is our Lord, He will lead us away from sin and into righteousness. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Truly, truly I say to you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that “none is good, no not one.” We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God! When we see this (our sin in its true light)we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me!!! Does it in you? I know where I'm going when I die! Do you? I have an ETERNAL victory! Do you? I have more joy than ever because of what Christ has done. I have been down both roads. The road of the wicked and the road of Christ. Christ is way better and my cup runneth over with true joy and salvation. If you do not know the One true God and are not sure of your salvation, I promise He will never fail you. Turn to Him in repentance and faith. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins, never turning back to them. I tried changing on my own but I couldn't. It took the power of Christ on the inside of me to do it for me. He will give you a new and clean heart with new and clean desires and you shall be born again. A new creation in Christ Jesus!!! Hallelujah!!!! Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again!! Thank you Lord Jesus!✝️
Ah yes, I feel so recharged from my 5 minute break, I felt the pressure of a short clock the whole time and almost had time to make a sandwich. My friends love it when I call them, talk for 2 minutes, and then hang up every half hour. This break will totally recharge me and I will definitely not get burnt out from never giving myself a proper break. Not to mention how useful it will be to interrupt my flow every half hour of work.
Yeah I agree, i think unless you're shooting up cocaine in those 5 minutes you'd struggle to get anything 'fun' done in that amount of time. I think his point still stands though that it's important to take multiple short breaks rather than one large one. Doing work for 90 minutes then taking a 30 minute break works great for me for example.
He isn't talking about anything like a big lunch break, but saying instead of working like 4 hours straight break it up and have a few short breaks to recharge every now and again.

That's what happens to me. Studying like he says is worthless to me. I need far more time. I need at least an hour of study. And when I was at college I could study many hours in a row.
yeah I need about half an hour to feel like I've just started concentrating on the task. If I don't keep that momentum going there's no point in starting at all.
Flow state only works if the study you do is interesting to you and if its just enough challange but not too chalanging. Its like you need to give your best to keep up but its not outside of your ability.
This always sounds like a good idea, but it's not the same for everyone. That first 30 mins study is just the minimum time for me to actually get into focus. Then when I am absorbed enough in whatever that is, I can stay focused for up to 2 hours. Then I force myself to have a break. This is what I did when I studied for the national exam I took a few years ago. I still do it now that I am working. I just don't expect to be very productive right when I start, then just continue.
"Another 5 minutes won't hurt anybody"... "Now that they're 10, why not make it 20?"... "I kinda wanna play only one match though"... "Ok only one more match, I'll skip the rest of the breaks"... "But I really don't wanna end with a loss"... ... "It's 11 pm already?!"
FUN FACT: Sir... If we will take break off for 5 minutes at every half hour of study ....then if we study 5hr and 30 min .. then it will take 55 min of rest......... But u said that it will take only 30 min......then what about this extra 25 min.....🤔🤔🤔

Pomodoro technique is the best!
Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God.

You can't study 30 minutes and grasp a topic on such short period of time, unless you're studying the times table

Make a difference ,a change in your life, stop being like the most of people ,they only do what they feel they want to do

Someone who sacrificed himself for you and everyone on this Earth the one who created the heavens and the Earth be creator of everything do you want to be saved. Do you want eternal life with peace and joy forever your answer is Jesus if you do not know who Jesus is read the following Jesus is the Son of God that came to this Earth to save the people of their sins. when God-created Earth sin same came into Earth and tempted Eve(The first woman) to eat the fruit that God had forbidden her and Adam to not eat. The story of Jesus is beautiful. If you do not already have a Bible, purchase one. If you do not have the money, pray to God about you wanting a Bible and if he could please provide one for you. This does not mean a Bible will come from the sky and land on your hands. Pray to God every day. But to not be blabbering that just say a bunch of words to try to impress and show off to other people or to impress. This does not mean long prayers are bad always pray out of the heart. Give thanks also when you pray. The Father (also God) sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for you. Rejoice brothers and sisters because your price was payed by Jesus Christ death.

It's worth mentioning that these experiments are carried out in ideal conditions, and we cannot know with certainty if this happens in real situations, but it is still useful information and super interesting. @aaaquascaping9774 not really. This break allows you to recharge for a bit, and then get back to working with even more focus. The ADHD kicks in brother, after 2 minutes I'm done for
Hey everyone!
That’s why he said other stuff like “listen to a song” which are about 3 minutes long on average. He never said “only call your friend”
Agreed. I found 50-10 ratio was best for me
@@christmaschris487Personally, I like the 90-20 ratio. 90 minutes of work to 20 hours of video games.
He isn't talking about anything like a big lunch break, but saying instead of working like 4 hours straight break it up and have a few short breaks to recharge every now and again.
Thanks for reminding, i took 5m break, opened yt shorts and it's 20m now 😂
Plot twist! There is no one way to study. Some read, write, record, short breaks, long breaks, no breaks, ect. Do what works best for you. Consistency is key
Oh really, keep eating

Pretty sure there are better and worse ways, that's just science
@@danielm.656There are better and worse ways for every individual. There's a reason scientific studies use large sample sizes and don't just declare something the best way because it worked on like 10 people from the same demographic
Me after writing down the title of my essay:

Dosen't work for everyone
There are some people who develop an incredible flow state after about 20 mins that they can go on studying with no stop, almost like reading your favorite book
That me. I start studying and if I could continue for nearly an hour without even getting up, I will continue for hours. Its like a snow ball effect.
Flow state only works if the study you do is interesting to you and if its just enough challange but not too chalanging. Its like you need to give your best to keep up but its not outside of your ability.
I don’t like breaks, soon as I take one I’m done doing anything. Just keep working till the jobs done
True if i break that momentum, trust me it's gone for an hour.😂
This always sounds like a good idea, but it's not the same for everyone. That first 30 mins study is just the minimum time for me to actually get into focus. Then when I am absorbed enough in whatever that is, I can stay focused for up to 2 hours. Then I force myself to have a break. This is what I did when I studied for the national exam I took a few years ago. I still do it now that I am working. I just don't expect to be very productive right when I start, then just continue.
Me: Jake we have only 5 minutes (on call)
Jake: Are you ok ? 😂😂😂😂
yeah hold on let me listen to 1 and a half songs and get back to studying
😂
"Laughs in ADHD" I am either doing something for 18 hours or not at all.
I study for 1hr 30min and take a 30min break. That's how I sit from 11 - 9pm and get approx 8 hours of study done everyday👍🏻👍🏻
Sheesh bro 🎉 keep it up. I see u being ur name 🗿🤜
This was the indian channel i was looking for.... Very happy that someone is there like u bro❤❤❤❤
"Another 5 minutes won't hurt anybody"...
"Now that they're 10, why not make it 20?"...
"I kinda wanna play only one match though"...
"Ok only one more match, I'll skip the rest of the breaks"...
"But I really don't wanna end with a loss"...
...
"It's 11 pm already?!"
bros trippin if he thinks I’m gonna study for 6 hours
nah its actually doable if you do the method ngl, youre not gonna even notice it as long as you dont get distracted
FUN FACT: Sir... If we will take break off for 5 minutes at every half hour of study ....then if we study 5hr and 30 min .. then it will take 55 min of rest......... But u said that it will take only 30 min......then what about this extra 25 min.....🤔🤔🤔
True
I have to scroll down really faaaar to get this comment. How sad... I think shorts are really shorten our critical thinking... Just because the professor is a professor we blindfully trust. Keep your eyes open and when everyone cheer take a step back.
Also, I thinks the professor made a point with effective breaks. He should have used it when he was studying maths.
Thank god someone else noticed it
this is the most effective technique i ever learn , thank you so much sir
And if in those 5 min I pick up my phone ,
Boom 2hrs gone and I still don't know why I picked up it in first place 😅
Same shit here this phone got some magic😂

If I took a break after studying, that break is gonna turn into 100 years and I would already be on my funeral after opening my phone 💀
Wake up monday at midnight and start working. Dont stop, dont sleep, dont blink until tuesday 4 pm. Your 40 hour work week is done, enjoy the rest of the week.
Now wait for Monday midnight to come, missed it? Don't worry, wait for the next Monday :)
I've actually thought about this before as a hypothetical question.
If given the option, would you choose to do all your mundane stuff in a yearin one long stretch, and then not have to worry about it for the rest of the year
So you go to sleep right at midnight on new years day, wake up 1st of may. Then you spend the next week just shitting non-stop, then you spend about a week stuck at a red light in traffic.
But after that's all done, you never need to sleep, don't feel tired, don't need to go to the toilet, and will never hit a red light in traffic
