    Ritchie's extended "Arabianesque" solo of this song on the live CD is a step beyond the "Come Hell or High Water" DVD version or this- "somewhat emotional territory for Satch"-expression. I see Joe's effort as a tribute to Ritchie & Purple, not a competition. I guess the band didn't want to honour the departing RB with the visual compliment on the DVD to his audio masterpiece. His Classisal/Folk/ Middle Eastern mode( Phygerian?) on "Anya" outdoes Page's "Kashmir" & his own "Perfect Strangers"

      @@andreabarbieri5156 I think he's referring to the Stuttgart 1993 version, which is truly out of this world. Hard to find on CD (Gillan hated his vocals so pulled it), but can be found on RUclips, with video.

    I love that Gillan,Glover,Lord & Paice give Satch lots of room to be himself.....even tho' he overplays just a bit. That definitely adds to the " hired gun" aura Joe had here.

    You weren't born when Blackmore played with DP but you are more clever than many were born when Ritchie played them! Ritchie composed and created many tracks e riffs did history of hard-rock And his guitar-style you can immediately know, his touch and sound and his virtuosism is inside DP music!The version of this song with Ritchie is another thing! In the intro of keyboards and guitar, the notes of guitar of Ritchie seems a dancing ballet! Satriani is good but there is less class in his sound!

    Satriani actually fits nicely in this song, but DP with Richie sound like a completely differend band. Only sound that comes close is with Bolin, sad he didnt live longer.
    In my opinion Richie and Bolin bring out the blues, Satriani and Morse are too heavy for the old DP songs.

      @@olgak_9932 Всё это дело вкуса. Purpendicular - великий альбом, Abandon - классный. Музыка намного разнообразнее и веселее, чем какой-нибудь Slaves and Masters или The Battle Rages On. С Морсом группа ожила, а с Блэкмором был тупик. Ну а Сатриани просто не отсюда.

    • @cornucopia8591

      @@olgak_9932 Что касается нынешних альбомов Deep Purple, не вижу там большой роли Морса. Скорее там влияет продюсер Брэдфорд, Гиллан, Гловер и Дон Эйри. В итоге получается мрачно, хоть и модно. В чартах всё хорошо, а за душу не берёт. Морс в этом довольно узком стиле не раскрывается.

    • @olgak_9932
      @olgak_9932 3 года назад +1

      @@cornucopia8591 Ну, в тупик группу сам Блэкмор и загнал 👎. Поменьше бы ему амбиций и шедевров наваяли бы еще очень много. Но.... имеем то, что имеем. С Морсом группа ожила только в плане здорового климата в коллективе. В плане музыки, повторюсь, Морс для меня скучно и пресно. И то, что он признавался 5 раз лучшим гитаристом у меня вызывает лишь удивление. После Блэкмора слушать Морса тоска.
      Кстати, Рабы и Господа считаю, вообще, самым слабым и неинтересным альбомом. Да я и Тернера, мягко сказать, недолюбливаю. Это совсем не DP, как впрочем, и Mark4 с Болином.
      Насчёт, сейчас, мне тоже не все нравится, надеюсь, они просто в поиске и это не станет нормой.

      @@olgak_9932 Спасибо Ольга, и вас с праздником! ДП люблю всех, где есть Лорд и Пэйс, лично для меня группа закончилась с уходом Лорда, хотя Бананас ещё туда-сюда. Что Симпер-Эванс, что Болин-Хьюз это как грани одного алмаза, но сверкают своим светом. ДП великая группа! Дай бог им здоровья и всем фанатам тоже! А нам на наших десятках рубиться из-за составов ни к чему, всех музыкантов уважаю, со всеми у ДП были свои интересные темы. С тем же Болиным концертник в США'76 это шедевр! Музыкантов надо любить за лучшее, а не кто кому макароны на голову надел или кто что по ноздре пускал. А что Ника Симпера не включили в зал славы Р'Н'Р - это огромная несправедливость!
