MS. PAT! I don’t know if you already know of it, but there’s a store in Indianapolis called Washington Discount and they sell Target clearance items for 70-80% off. The items are usually perfectly fine, they’ve just been on clearance in Target for so long that they have to be donated out.
Buy absolutely nothing from the finance office. If you do need GAP, get it from your car insurance or credit union, not the dealer office. The only thing you should do in the finance offer is sign whats already been negotiated.
ALWAYS BUY GAP...unless you put down half of what the car is worth. If you total the car and you owe $25k but the insurance company says they'll only pay $16k, you now have a car note for the remaining $9k on a car that you no longer have. If you don't pay the $9k it will go on your credit as a repo. GAP is the only thing that you should get when buying a new car. The extended warranty and everything else is a rip off. I sold cars for 8 years and was a finance manager in the car business for 3 years. (Edit) GAP pays the difference if your car is totaled.

Also, loans aren't originated based only on score. Debt to income ratio and payment history (not just history with their loans) is also a factor. You can have a 750 because you make all your payments on time, but still be over leveraged and have too many payments for the current provable income. This is why credit score doesn't always matter. However, If you got approved at the exact same rates somewhere else and denied there..... probly some bs going on.
