Isle of Iona, Scotland - Nibi Wabo Water Blessing Song by the Ancient Well of the North Wind.

Sacred Water Blessing Song. An invitation to join me in singing and blessing the Waters of the Earth, the lifeblood of our Mother Gaia. This blessing of the Water took place in June 2024 close beside the Ancient Well of the North Wind on the Sacred Isle of Iona, Scotland. There is a Water Spirit that guards and protects this Well. The Water itself is a rare example of extremely pure and unpolluted water. In ancient times, there were people on the Isle of Iona who knew the incantations to say to the Spirit of this Well of the North Wind to ask for protection for those who travelled by sea. Sea travellers and asked for help from the North Wind for safe passage on the Waters. This Well of the North Wind was/is a very special sacred Well that holds the wisdom of the mystery of our human relationship with the sacred Waters of the world.
We can choose once again to have a sacred relationship with Water. Singing to her in appreciation and gratitude is a way to begin to deeply connect with the Spirit of the Water that sustains all Life on Gaia, our precious jewel of a Planet, our home.
This ancient Algonquin Nation Water Blessing Song was taught to me by Métis Grandmother Monique Renaud. All are encouraged to sing to the Water of the Earth, to bless the Water, to honour the Water, to heal the Water. The Nibi Wabo song was traditionally sung by women of the Algonquin Nation. Roughly translated, the words mean: Water is the lifeblood of our Mother Earth, and it is also our lifeblood. Water, I honour you. Water, I respect you. Water, I love you.
