Ryan will always have a piece of his heart missing, as will Matt's family. However, the fact that he put his life at risk on the hope to save one alone proves him a hero. The fact that Matt made the selfless decision to prolong the lives of others after the passing of his own, is his own call to herodom.
Ryan, friends, Matt's family i am glad you know & knew two young men that adds that feeling " the world is still trying " regardless of tough situations and hard choices.
To the young man who saved his friend, you are the definition of Hero. Breaking a window in a home that is on fire, is extremely dangerous in and of itself. Your love and care for others is really wonderful. You probably already know how important it was to pull him from the fire, and all of the lives, as a result of your heroism, we're saved also. I'm glad that this news story was next in line, because it shows how you and others come together in very unfortunate circumstances. How wonderful. It reminded me of my school friend who suddenly had a heart attack at 34 years old. It left her brain dead so we turned the machine off leaving three very young children without a Mom but thanks to her final wishes over 30 people went on with their lives. It's strange how a comfort can come from such sadness. To this day I still can't believe she's gone. Love you Lou you'd be so proud of your babies today

You are right, organs specifically cannot save 60 people's lives, as there are not that many in the human body that can be donated after death. However, tissue transplants, which in many cases can be the difference between life and death for those suffering from other serious conditions, often come from organ donors, so it is definitely possible that 60 lives saved could be an accurate figure.

Thats a lot of people benefitting from 1 persons misfortune. I dont see a problem, considering that the alternative was 1 death and 0 people having profit.
@HardTimeGamers - You may have missed my point. If the one who died did not have a donor card and there was no profit motive for Doctors and Hospitals. Would the donor have lived? I was not there, I do not know. What I do know is we humans frequently interfere with the will of nature (Creator / creation). Transplant Surgery is an enormous interference, and who profits?
