Growing as an autistic child, I had trouble making friends. And often at playtime I would be on the playground alone. When I was younger I used to be angry at the teachers for not doing anything but as I grew up, I learned to let it go. I'm not even sure how they could have helped me to be honest, if I sat inside during those times it only would have singled me out further and teachers aren't allowed to be alone with students 🤷🏼♀️

I truly appreciate that act of kindness I have a 14 year old with autism who sits on a bench alone every lunch. It makes me sad that no one will approach him and just sit with him. My heart goes out to every single person with any disabilities. You are amazing as I tell my son anyone would be so lucky to have a such a kind caring perosn for a friend.
Oh my gosh nobody was sitting no where near him. That is just sad and the little boy seems really nice. I hope the football player makes it in the NFL.
This immediately brought tears to my eyes remind me of when I was in the tenth grade and I walked in the lunchroom with my sister and 2 friends thinking where was we going to sit. I saw young ladies sitting by herself in the corner of a table. Immediately I told my sister and friends will sit next to her .. we went to the table and ask her if it ok if we sit with you? she looked up and said sure. As we got to know her and she got to us she was the funniest sweetest person you'll ever meet Michelle was her name. I always teach my children if you see someone by their self in school it's okay to talk to them it's okay to sit with them. Never bully someone/ make fun of them. And if the friends your hanging with decide to do it you make sure you put them in check do not condone to it lt, let the teachers know, report them.I teach my children to love all race/ everyone with disability. ❤💯
I liked being alone im high school. Eating, studying, walking alone. I liked it. I couldnt stand the immaturity of others. Some people like being alone but i do respect the man for sitting with the kid. He made his day. Hopefully the brother makes it to the nfl. Great soul
Kevin Vazquez you should start making some friends that are more your type and I’m sure there’s a lot out there that would be happy to be your friend, being lonely can lead to negative things. Hope your find one Good true friend GL🙂
hugo chen thanks for you kind words brother☺ ive always been a person who likes solitude, i do have my bestfriends though we all just attended different high schools. We now all work at the same job though, and we'll be getting a place together in a couple of months😀
ststTV you could look at it like that but you should see it as he isn't alone anymore which means good story. A football player and role model encouraged other children to follow in his footsteps. Why the 😒 face?
Cameron Johnson usually everyone's fake ass fuck and which is the case with most kids these days assuming he just sat down with a football player his new "friends" are not going to want to sit with him and not just be like hey ....I wanna follow that mans footsteps
That kid sitting by himself "Everyday" is an indictment of the parenting of all the other kids parents. It doesn't surprise me that a football player, someone who has trained with others to work as a team felt the need to support this child and sit with him. Gotta love Travis Rudolph!
Actually sad to think that this is something that needs “praised”. The player was just simply being a decent human. Something we shouldn’t have to praise...
Wish people were like this more often, ik myself have done many things like this but I'd hate to turn into fame or something, really just being kind is so rare that they have to make it news. Kinda sad but I'm happy for the kid in the vid he deserves better
What else do you expect out of someone who has the name Oliver North? the real Oliver North was a asshole a CIA agent that worked for President Reagan. he was involved in dropping guns off in the Central America and bringing back cocaine and dropping it off in the black community in Los Angeles that began the crack epidemic in America.
She said he could have sat with anyone, but the way he was raised, he had only one option he could actually choose from. “It was like a SPOT LIGHT”, he said.
I’ve seen something similar to this at my highschool back in the day they get the kid all hyped up and they start to teach him things that aren’t good and the kid can’t handle it so people continue to distance there selves from him until he becomes old news. Then they would secretly make fun of him and just because he’s laughing and doesn’t understand Doesn’t make it right.
Nathan Bryant I went to montford. He was a mutual friend in my science class. He had a different lunch tho. From what people say now he moved to Georgia. He also tried out for the basketball team and didn’t make it.
This was heartbreaking to see a child being alienated this way. Parents should teach their children kindness. Thank you Travis Rudolph for your kindness. You sure made Bo’s day.
The sad part of this, is that he was sitting alone in the first place! A kid with autism? Who doesn't seem freakish at all? They've got us "separated" pretty good!♥️🙏👉🇺🇸
I really hope other parents can guide their childrens to care for other handicapped friends.. I think that is not only good for the handicapped children themselves but also, hopefully to their surrounding friends to grow up into a kindhearted person..
Here’s hoping that young football player goes on to be a great success in whatever field he chooses. That was an incredibly kind gesture that he was part of. Great young man
I’m so happy for the kid. He said “I’m a super star, everybody recognizes me.” That really hit me. It’s like he doesn’t care if they’re just there for clout, he just doesn’t want to be alone anymore. It’s just so wonderful.
It’s sad parents have to see their child go through school in which they get picked or teased. Most times they can’t do anything and I feel for his mother. No mother should have to go through that, I hope things change for the future
Dude it won’t change it’s just life I hv experienced it and so as you maybe and right now it sucks more because I am in middle school and it’s never is going to be different even in the future 😢
Right?! It's heartbreaking. I have a 5 year old son who just started kinder and I worry about stuff like that A LOT and it's hard not to because it's your baby.
Feeling the mom’s pain literally. 💔 Sometimes kids just don’t understand when some seems a bit different but in truth we can all learn from each other. Praying that his friendships have grown today and that he is living a joyful life.
They are clearly elementary school children and children don't understand that type of stuff, they aren't mature enough to understand what this kid is going through. Children don't understand disabilities and differences so when someone is different they don't know what to say or do
What about the child’s pain we always make autism about the parents and family members when it’s the child’s journey the child’s family are side characters
One of my classmates was always alone, reading books. I went to talk to her not because i felt sorry for her, but genuinely because i wanted to talk to her about a book she was reading. She told me to f*ck off :)
The guy murdered somebody so I suppose he must be the most fake.,. Murdered one, wounded another so I don't believe he was doing this out of the kindness of his heart.
@@talentlesscommenter1329 technically you would need thousands upon thousands of nickels to lift yourself out of poverty, let alone to pay off your debt
I find myself isolated and ostracized due to autism quite often, so I am so glad that the football player was a true role model in his choice of who to sit with at lunch. What an encouragement! 😊
I’m from Ireland.. I know absolutely NOTHING about American sports but this is so beautiful, going out of your way to look after a wee kid, bless you to the end of days 💚
OMG! I’m tears. I can feel that Mom’s anguish knowing her son eats lunch alone everyday. Through the kindness and great heart of this young man, he started something that day that this young boy and Mom will never forget for the rest of their lives. Autism shouldn’t make you an outcast. I pray more people follow this young man’s example. God Bless him.
@@Alexandra_Hill Don't take my words out of context. Those kids not eating with him shouldn't use autism as an excuse to treat him as an outcast. Now, do you get it?
This reminds me of a boy I knew in highschool who was struggling with heart complications since he was born. I was a senior and he was a freshman we both took woodshop together and I helped out with his projects and the math for the cost of wood because his aid knew nothing and didn’t seem to care. It wasn’t until the end of that class my very last highschool class ever did I find out doctors said he would probably wouldn’t make it to the end of the year. I recently heard he passed away after his long fight in surgery. Even if no one else cares I still wanna say you will be missed Jeremiah and I hope the good lord is there to greet you at the door.
ironic tho that all the people that care less until people are no longer alive then people always come out of the woodwork saying how much they cared ..so common yet so disgusting
badferrit badferrit exactly I hate when guys think they can get away with saying that stuff online. that's why me and most girls put their social media on private
me too, i feel really bad for not standing up for bullying or eating with people who were alone. i made my closest friend because she took the time to get to know me. we met 10 years ago this august.
Very thoughtful and kind of you. But I’m sure you had your own insecurities and battles, that you had to deal with, like the rest of us. Just be kind now😊👍
When I used to go clubbing with my friends. They would reject the not so good looking guys. I hated seeing that so much. So I would see that, and sneak away and would end up dancing with them. They would find me and join. I would tell them, you go out to a club to dance and have a good time. Dancing with the guys that aren’t good looking isn’t gonna take anything away from them. It’s just a dance for crying out loud. Another thing I did, was go to prom with a co workers cousin. Because he asked a girl out, and she ditched him that week because she was gonna go to an unexpected family vacation. Surprise, surprise, I was able to get a dress, get a hair appointment etc. In less than a week, only to show up to see that girl with someone else. Her mouth dropped because she didn’t expect to see him with someone else. And not to brag, but his whole group of friends said I was way better looking than her. It felt so good to walk in with him and have a good time. I will never let anyone around me feel left out if I am able to help in any situation.

This was a very heartwarming story it made me cry I watch the video three times the football player Didn’sit with little boy but God let him to him it was just a beautiful story so you guys, just so negative just open up your eyes nothing wrong with little human compassion the story made my day and it made me cry and I’m 57 years old I love to see things like this I hope the little boy find some friends and that football player was a beautiful person ❤️☮️
Its not. Im autistic and I dont like fake attention, Im one of the best investors of the world, I can make billions and make atomic bombs. im telling you this because im not making bombs. I have self respect, also I prefer to be lonely than have fake friends because im autistic.
My cousin is autistic and he's the star of his own show, he has no problem making friends because he's such a beautiful, good boy with a twinkle in his eye and the little twist in his laugh that says "I'm the good kind of trouble", but he's almost a teenager, and he only has one more year until the 7th grade where he'll have to face the reality of children communicating better than him and he will struggle to understand the social structures of a bigger group in an incredibly difficult age as it is, so I'm definitely emotional when I see things like these, it gives me hope for my cousin's future, and that kid is the sweetest, anyone who ever had lunch with him can only gain from it.
Crying while viewing this, I have a 28 year old nephew who has NO real friends, but I thank that young man for what he did it means more than he'll ever come to realize, Congratulations and God bless to them BOTH.
As someone who also has autism, this is very relatable. People hated being around me when I never did anything wrong. We are all humans, and we all deserve respect and happiness. For those of you who hate special needs people and avoid them at all costs, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. We are all people, and in most cases, some people can not control how they act. These problems we are born with do not define us as people. I was lucky that I was on the higher end of the spectrum and am able to function like a "normal" person.
You’re lucky. I have a 13 year old nephew, that will not to be able to function independently in society and will end up having to stay with his parents forever.
Captain Obvious I think you are missing the point, many talented athletes don't get a chance to make it to the professional level in their respective sports, due for not having a spotlight. While this act of kindness got him notoriety and a spotlight, to me context matters. I genuinely believe he did this with no intentions to make it to the news but just to make that little boy day. There's a universal law that good things happen to good people, you'd be surprised what your good deeds can do to you. (Note: if you just do good things just to expect the universe to reward you. Do kind things and expect nothing in return, Always.)
As a kid in middle school who sits alone, I just have to say I’m happy for the kid. And I have respect for the football player. Most people react in a sad way and ask why I sit alone, but it’s not a big deal to me because people want to sit with me but I don’t want them.
I teach my son, longif there's a or some kids didn't want to play with you, don't be sad he always have me as bestfriends, and said that's can be sign they are not a nice kid. Start from that, he enjoy playing by himself at playground, funny thing is other kids closer to him cause my son didn't care about them playing without him 😅 sorry too long.
Amen. I loved being alone. Only 1 teacher ever sat with me for lunch (temporarily cuz she needed to get back up and supervise all the other kids since she's on cafeteria duty of course), but that was fine by me. Everybody was trash at the school I went to. Not worth my time and energy, no sir. There's a whole world out there anyways. Plenty more friends in the sea. School is just a stepping stone to a much better, more pleasant life ahead of you. Adults were always much kinder and more attentive to me than kids ever were.
same man, i think we should always at least check if the people being by themselves are comfortable in that solitude. i was always by myself when i was little and most people assumed i wanted to be alone, which was pretty rough because i wanted friends

Christian, exactly. How hard it must've been for that little boy to sit through lunch alone everyday, and not fully understand why. But he didn't hide. That boy has immense courage if you ask me.
this honestly makes me sad that this little act of kindness is getting praised so highly because this shouldn't be as big as a deal that it is it should be a standard not something that we see happen rarely but props to the football player for showing what we all should be doing as a generation
