    Ford: we shall offer a consumer friendly high luxury hauler
    Ram: takes notice, now offers a Laramie 4500 & 5500
    GM: we have a cool tailgate.

      And yet Fiat, I mean Dodge doesn’t even offer a bed for the 4500, you have to buy that separately and by the time you do that you have more money in the Fiat, I mean Dodge , than the Ford cost.

    • @robinscott3587

      What does that mean “we shall offer”
      I am looking to upgrade my 2019 350 to at 4500/5500/ F550. But currently Ford does not offer high lux in a Chassie. Still on the fence.

      LOL Tailgate ...
      F450 pickup is well a pickup bed. yes I like that it's a traditional bed but really limited in what you can do with it. flat bed has advantages and disadvantages at times.

    I think Ram is missing a large portion of the market by not having a 4500 w/ factory bed configuration. I’d def. e in the marker for one when I upgrade from my CTD 2500 just for the turning radius advantage. I’m tired of needing 3 acres to turn around.

      Less than 1% of all the F series are f450 pickups. At least for 2018, it might have broken the 1% barrier by now. The 450 pickup is purely a halo product

    Glad you mentioned tire wear, I was thinking it was just my truck. I went from a 1999 single rear wheel 4x4 F-350 with a manual to a 2011 F-450. It’s a nice upgrade but I’m noticing that tires might be an issue. It has the 17” wheels. Don’t know if that contributes anything to the problem. I love the truck though. Thank you for all the great content as it helped with my decision on this truck.

      @@BTBRVReviews ok thanks. i am trying to figure out what a good upgrade for me would be. I have a ram 1500 crew cab now with a max towing capacity of 8250lbs with a gear ratio 3.21, but iwant to upgrade my travel trailer, that will be around 9500 ish and around 37.5 ft long. i think? not sure if to get a bunkhouse or a couples trailer, as my kids are 7 and 9 years old. Do you think that a ram 3500 would be over kill? or maybe a good idea if i decide later to purchase a 5th wheel.

    • @UncleKarlito
      @UncleKarlito 4 года назад +3

      @@mikeparkin7262 Just go 3500 if you can. I hate when the payload police show up to discussions about 2500 vs. 3500 but as someone that bought a 2019 Ram 2500 in February I do recommend just going 3500 right away. My 2500 tows our 33' travel trailer toy hauler like a dream but now that we're looking at 5th wheels we are going to be a few hundred pounds over on payload.
      The only downside to the 3500 is your empty ride is going to be a bit rougher with Rams since the suspension is different. My coil sprung 2500 does ride really nice empty and so I do enjoy that aspect. On Fords and GMs there isn't much of a difference because they're just changing how many leafs/overload leafs there are.

    • @jamessheets9205
      @jamessheets9205 4 года назад +3

      I might be wrong on this but I believe the way hp is measured is different on higher class trucks. Plus these are work trucks and most companies and owners are more concerned about longevity and not winning at the stoplight dragstrip. They want to get the job done with the best r.o.i. possible. Hopefully when they go to a transmission with more gears they ditch the 68rfe and have the same hp and tq ratings in the whole lineup. Hopefully that transmission is bulletproof as well. I would look at a new ram then. My current 07.5 quad cab is getting a little small in the back for my two kids. The 68rfe is long gone and replaced with a manual because it was very emo and never enjoyed life. As I get older I don't enjoy shifting in town as much anymore. I would live a nice solid automatic behind a cummins as a factory option. The aisin is nice but still there is little you can do to tune it.

    I'm on my 4th F450 I have gotten up to 89,000 miles on the rear tires and 75,000 on the front tires. My current 2020 has 12,000 and starting to cup wear front and rear on the stock tires. These are the Continental hybrid. This truck has the Pro backup I have not tried it as of yet but I can say if this is what has changed the way the truck steers I do not like it at all. The 2019 steering is completely different. The 2020 wanders all over I have had the alignment checked out twice at two different shops I'm going to see if I can have the Pro backup disconnected it drives that bad.

    The advantage the Ford has over the Ram is this. The Ford, you can place all kinds of eight foot long two by fours in the bed, close the tail gate and not worry about them falling out. Or you can place several four by eight foot sheets of plywood in the bed, close the tail gate and not have to worry about losing them. What's to keep them from sliding off the bed of the Ram?
