Bbc and itv i dont think its do with country being Ireland. I have the KM3 and have trouble downloading both and loads of other apps. Box is good but big letdown when it comes to things like that. Thankfully i dont need those apps so works ok for me

after watching your other review on mecool km2 I bought one and at first I thought it was great but after a while the remote started to lag and I couldn't install some apps it says ITV hub was available to install but after installation it wouldn't open also no channel 4 hub or Britbox but I managed to sideload BBC iPlayer from your site
I emailed mecool about the remote lagging and they told me that I must use the remote that came with the mecool km2 ? I am using the one that came with it ?
So I have now gone back to the Amazon tv cube sadly with all its bloatware

UK now appears in the region list with the belated firmware upgrade. Perhaps Mecool listened to your complaint and urgently pushed it through.
I received and set my KD3 up yesterday, Mecool imo does things arse about face. One might expect that once you've connected to your network, the next thing to happen is any upgrades in the system, but no, you're required to confirm language and region first and you can't bypass it. We're in Australia, so I selected this, but being from UK wanted UK.
Before I started wasting time with sideloading apps etc. I checked to see if there was a firmware upgrade and indeed there was (only 2 days old). After the upgrade, I couldn't see how the original region choice could be edited. The answer was to reset to factory and started again. Bobs your uncle, UK now appeared in the regions list. Not that it's of much use to anyone overseas, as the apps you can access are for the country you are in regardless of the region setting. I'm thinking official android TV works off your ISP's location and not what the device owner claims or wants.
I spent 4-5 hours on getting things configured to how I want them. My after-market bluetooth controller with airmouse makes phone/tablet touchscreen apps usable, which is great. The inc remote is very good vs the one FireTv uses and it has volume buttons which actually control volume on the stick, with the option to change that to controlling TV/Soundbar/AV instead. Not one review of the device has stated this. In fact I think it's a great stick as I can also use the wolf launcher unlike with Fire TV forcing users to see their cluttered home screen with all the promos.

I notice it’s the same remote as the km7. Or is there changes in the manufacturing besides the Netflix button ? I like this remote( or the km7 remote ) because. It’s bigger than the km2 remote easier to grip. . I find myself loosing that one a lot more, curious same

Everyone is bailing on Netflix anyway. They've turned into a ho-hum streaming service that's not worth the subscription price.

50 quid for a device that has a home screen littered with ads and sponsored content? Especially those massive ads that take up a a large portion of the screen.
Thanks for the review, I'd rather stick with the firestick. Waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

AS always nice review and honest to me it's a piece of crap.
I prefer Chromecast with Google TV and I think it way better than MeCool Google TV. I also heard that you can't uninstall Netflix or Prime Video. But definitely great video tho.
Aren't they the same though since both use google tv ?
@@ChemicalCorpse91 yes but one is from a brand that I know more about. And also you can't uninstall some of the pre-installed apps on the Mecool Google TV.
@@theofficialjaycool really good to know then I'll keep my google chromecast 4k. I was going to buy the mecool one and sell my chromecast because i find the chromecast sluggish but love the interface so I'll get the fire tv max instead for speed performance and just keep the chromecast as a casting device
@@ChemicalCorpse91 yeah I know sometimes the Chromecast can be a little slow or a little sluggish but I definitely love the Google TV UI as. The Amazon Fire sticks got a lot going on in there UI. And I don't like Nvidia shield devices because there UI is old android ish. But in my opinion the best smart TV streaming devices platform UI are Apple TV and Google TV. But since I'm in the Google ecosystem I got to go with Google TV.
I don't know why they bothered making this available in the UK without a disclaimer. They need to double the storage capacity of the Firestick to even get a foothold in the market ...

Dude on the I'm in Ireland, if you can't download Pluto tv and Imdtv its definitely to do with the regional settings. Are you sure it's not a Mc Cool stick🤣
