While you're right about slaying actually being more important in oddball than holding the ball itself, teammates in random que, even at Onyx rank, don't need to be told to hold the ball less lmao. Some people don't even pick it up when you have 3 or 4 down on the other team.

Or, I'll have the ball in a really good spot and my team literally just leaves and goes across the entire map for absolutely zero reason at all, leaving me entirely alone. I'm Diamond 6 atm and I'll never understand. Then you say one thing about it and they teamkill you over and over when all you did was ask for help.
For #4, at times some sort of game balancing starts to take place (when you have a good lead) and you start getting bad spawns. In such scenarios, you actually have to start working harder for the win.
Positioning is also key to winning games, you want the other team to spawn across the map so you can rack up points. In flag, blocking important spawns so you can run the flag making the enemy team OE resulting in free kills if your team rotates back with you. Also paying attention to where your teammate dies so you can trade, rotate the ball, or play for picks.
Something else in oddball you can do is when you see your ally pop out and get shot down to no shield, drop them the ball and swap places with them - normally you should drop the ball when 4 enemies are alive and pushing, get your team started on the fight and once it's clear your team will win you can go back and pick the ball back up. If an ally is low throw the ball at them and take their place. This way you constantly have a full shields player in the more vulnerable position.
my friend who's really good at just about every shooter told me the best one line phrase to remember about objective games: "Every game is a slayer match, objective is just a slayer match with an extra objective." I try to share that with people when I play with them and they're stressing about ball time etc

Dude I'm onyx 1600ish on cross and been stuck on D4-D6 on solo/duo for weeks now...for whatever reason, if I get a solid win with 2+ kd, against similar ranks, I gain nil, but if I lose, I now lose 1/4th to half of a goddamn rank now...can anyone explain this nonsense? And I am not exaggerating either, literally 1/4th to half a rank with losing a tight game going neutral...
Same for me at diamond 1, I’m literally hard stuck in D1 because I go down 1/5-1/4 after every loss no matter how well I do (even went down in a 1v4 where all 3 of my teammates left within the first minute) and if I win I go up maybe 1/12 of a rank it’s so annoying

I played a team will all onxy, and my team only had me and another dude that were super low onxyx unlike the other team which were like 1700-1800 or so. I got first place but lost the game, I dropped my onyx and went down to diamond 6 but lost half of it as well... yet it took my like 10 games to get from diamond 6 to onxyx

Bro the getting sloppy one hurts. I queue solo in Open and so many random filled CTF games I’ve had a 2-0 lead and somehow lost. Had a 2-1 last night with 30seconds to go and two of our guys pushed for a 3rd capture rather than just defend our flag one last time for the easy W.
Funny thing about comms, it’s usually the bottom fragger that does it all the time. For me at least lol. I’m D6 & comms are rarely needed IF I get good teammates.
As an Onyx 1650 player the only one I'm guilty of is getting sloppy when my trio is slapping a squad around like a ragdoll. There's literally times where we have been up 4-0 in CTF and could have ended the game but didn't cuz we wanted more kills and ended up almost losing the game. I definitely gotta tighten up the sloppiness when winning by a big margin.

Also if you modify your settings so you can see your opponent's names as well ,you can call their name out too. like "one shot on camo, DinkyDonut" then if someone sees a player that's not DinkyDonut then they know there's two players. Or they'll know right away that the guy they are shooting is the guy you called out
One thing that annoys the hell out of me is in CTF when teammates don't juggle the flag or even worse... take the flag from you as you're juggling only to spriny with it instead...

It doesn't matter in Infinte if you juggle or not. Just don't sprint. They can't see your location unless someone has eyes on you.
