I know some will disagree but I really prefer Rouge with a deeper voice. Idk, her characterization makes it hard to think of her as only 18 years old. At her best, she's much more confident, witty and mature than a teenager. Always thought of her as a thriving grown up lady, which just doesn't go that well together with being no older than in one's late teens. My favourite voices for her in English are in 06, X and Prime. She'll always be my girlboss

I don’t care if Kathleen fit her characterization as a government spy, she didn’t show any emotion and made Rouge sound like an old woman. Lani didn’t sound immature, in case you didn’t realize, Lani sounded older, but her vocal pitch matches that of the Japanese VA. However she still knew how to act as Rouge and gave her a youthful energy to her voice. Kathleen was lacking that. Also Karen only sounded immature in Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Dream Team. Also if you think Lani can’t sound mature, well she can since she has had other more mature voice acting roles, such as Ivy Valentine to name one.
Lani Minella and Kathleen Delany are always gonna be such nostalgic takes on Rouge that I will miss greatly. But I'm honestly really freaking impressed by Kazumi Evans take on Rouge as she sounded so good! I think the worst one is Karen Strassman, she just doesn't sound good in the role.
She's not stilted like other 4Kids alumni who took up the mantle, but isn't exactly lively. Kazumi Evans on the other hand already shows great promise!

I think I'd like the voice of... the Rouge in that video where she says you piss loudly and thinks you are cool because of that. She sounds so mature and just the right amount of sassy & seductive. Seriously, if "Sonic Boom" made an another season, and introduced Rouge in, that's the voice I wanna hear, she'd be this bat who is a tad immature towards Knuckles for his intelligence, even making faces behind his back, with a pretty good balance between elegance & sassiness.

This would be my order: 1. Rumi Ochiai (Definitely the best Rouge's voice.) 2. Kazumi Evans (She may not be perfect, her characterization is almost excellent, but she does a great job as the voice of Rouge.) 3. Kathleen Delaney (I'm not a big fan of her voice because it sounds too old to be Rouge, but I have to admit that she does a great job characterizing the character, she is very close to Rouge's personality.) 4. In Colors and Generations, her voice was fine, in Forces was passable, but in Team Sonic Racing she sounded bad. Despite this, her voice is close to Rouge's personality.)

Can you stop commenting this shit whenever a video mentions a 4Kids actor? It’s getting annoying. Kathleen was fine in other animes that were dubbed by 4Kids but she sucks as Rouge.
Rumi Ochiai. The most seductive and snarky of them all. Karen Strassman is a close runner up. Lani Minella is great as well despite lacking the voluptuous tone Ochiai and Strassman had. Kazumi Evans is pretty decent for what she got to work with. Kathleen Delaney is just bleh. Just FAR too old for a young, flirty character. But that’s just me; you don’t have to agree, of course.
(UPDATED COMMENT) I’m ranking them again for some reason. 1. Rumi Ochiai: While not my personal favorite, I think she might be by far the best Rouge, she captures all of Rouge’s personality traits and makes the character beyond her looks feel believable. It’s great that she’s still voicing Rouge. 2. Lani Minella: She is my personal favorite Rouge voice, she gives Rouge a unique voice that differs from the ordinary Catwoman-type voice that most of Rouge’s other actresses do, and her seductive tone comes off naturally. She got most of Rouge’s character traits right like her sassiness and playful energy that Rouge should have, and of all of the English actresses, she made Rouge’s character stand out and made it seem like she had more character than being a blatant s*x appeal character. However in Sonic Adventure 2, she sounded a little too old, but improved in Sonic Heroes at making her sound more akin to her age. I seriously do not understand the hate she got at all. 3. Karen Strassman: I prefer Lani, but only slightly. Her and Lani feel like you took the Japanese VA and split her into 2 to transfer her voice into English, with Lani getting Rouge’s attitude right, while Karen got her voice right. She by far has the most natural voice for Rouge, since she doesn’t need to put too much effort into making the voice. Ik I said Lani was a bit better, but she sounds like she’s putting a bit more effort into making the voice (but it’s not like she sounds forced because she doesn’t, I seriously don’t get where that criticism comes from.) Karen captured most of Rouge’s personality traits and made her sound exactly her age. So what if she sounded bad in Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Dream Team? That wasn’t her fault, it was the voice direction! She does much better in Sonic Free Riders where she sounds more natural and in Sonic Forces where she puts more emotional expression into her voice. 4. Kazumi Evans: Her voice is basically a more mature version of Karen Strassman’s Rouge voice. It sounds similar except she ranges a bit more towards the deeper end (but the base pitch of the voice is closer to that of Karen and Lani.) To put it into short words, she sounds like what Rouge should sound like as an adult. However sometimes I think it could sound weird when she tried to sound deeper and it comes off as sounding a little too old at times, but she still does a good job compared to who’s below her. 5. Kathleen Delaney: Unlike most other people, I don’t let the whole “deeper voices are s*xy” trope blind my opinions, so this actress has nothing redeemable about her performance at all! She is the definition of a miscast for Rouge, as she lacked all of Rouge’s personality traits, sounded way too old and deep, and showed little to no emotion as Rouge whatsoever. Instead of sounding youthful and feminine, she made Rouge sound like a trans-identified male, when Rouge is very clearly a feminine character. She hardly knew how to act as Rouge, and gave her no energy and could only sound sassy (which came off as awkwardly masculine to me,) and her voice sounded stagnant, monotone, and boring. In Sonic X, her sassiness made Rouge sound awkward and forced, then in Shadow The Hedgehog, she was masking her mediocrity with whispering, and then in Sonic 06, which is the game that I consider to be the worst Rouge has ever sounded, she hardly put any effort into her performance at all. She was an unfaithful replacement for Lani, was completely unnecessary, and should’ve never been casted to voice Rouge. Even as a kid, when I heard her voice for the first time, I knew something was completely off about it. It sickens me to see a huge portion of the fanbase d-ride her and hate on Karen for invalid reasons. I can never decide which 4Kids actor is worse: Dan Green as Knuckles or Kathleen as Rouge. Good riddance to her, and I’m glad she’s never voicing Rouge again! Also, Nazia, if you reply to this comment, then you admit you’re g@y.

However sometimes I think it could sound weird when she tried to sound deeper and it comes off as sounding a little too old at times, but she still does a good job compared to who’s below her.
5. Kathleen Delaney: Unlike most other people, I don’t let the whole “deeper voices are s*xy” trope blind my opinions, so this actress has nothing redeemable about her performance at all! She is the definition of a miscast for Rouge, as she lacked all of Rouge’s personality traits, sounded way too old and deep, and showed little to no emotion as Rouge whatsoever. Instead of sounding youthful and feminine, she made Rouge sound like a trans-identified male, when Rouge is very clearly a feminine character. She hardly knew how to act as Rouge, and gave her no energy and could only sound sassy (which came off as awkwardly masculine to me,) and her voice sounded stagnant, monotone, and boring. In Sonic X, her sassiness made Rouge sound awkward and forced, then in Shadow The Hedgehog, she was masking her mediocrity with whispering, and then in Sonic 06, which is the game that I consider to be the worst Rouge has ever sounded, she hardly put any effort into her performance at all. She was an unfaithful replacement for Lani, was completely unnecessary, and should’ve never been casted to voice Rouge. Even as a kid, when I heard her voice for the first time, I knew something was completely off about it. It sickens me to see a huge portion of the fanbase d-ride her and hate on Karen for invalid reasons. I can never decide which 4Kids actor is worse: Dan Green as Knuckles or Kathleen as Rouge. Good riddance to her, and I’m glad she’s never voicing Rouge again!

Lani Minella and Karen Strassman. Kazumi is good. Kathleen Delaney was awful, every word she said made me want to puke and not to mention that she’s overrated.

You got that backwards doc! Kathleen peaked as Rouge, Karen & Lani are perfect examples of miscasts, but yeah Kazumi was pretty good.
