I freak'n LOVE improvised / home made vehicles like this. The idea that people could have the knowledge and skill to take bits and pieces of completely different machines and create a new, functional vehicle blows my mind. Gotta imagine people like that stroll through a junk yard and see nothing but possibilities. :O
Yeah especially since im sure the carb isnt stock, slappong a whole different carb on a quad and it running fine is pretty damn cool, i had a king quad 300 and the carb was trash so i put on a completly different carb on and it ran great with a little bit of drilling to the main jet
Mustie1 ; i really enjoy your videos. i became disabled about eight years ago. you are doing what i wanted to do after retiring, but now i am stuck in bed after many back surgeries and a couple others. i have collected many different kinds of bikes over the years. i dont know if ill be able to work on them in the future, but thats my goal. your videos give me hope and help me thru the rougher days. i have always loved fixing engines and pretty anything with an engine. i was a car mechanic my whole life and had a successful business for eight years till my health failed. i dont know why iam being so open but just wanted you to know your channel has made this guy very happy and given him some hope for the future. thank you, and keep up the great work.
What makes internet content work is that it's not traditional television. Network Execs should just accept television is dying. They need to either embrace the freedom, or retire.
It's the pandering to the lowest common denominators in society that killing network TV. Not every show needs to cater to the vlillage idiot or LGBTQ WXY123 crouds to no end and the big networks dont get it. Even worse that too much of the big internet doesn't either. They have their places and their stuff so leave it out of everyone else's who doesn't want it shoved in their faces 24/7 at volume 11.
You men. Your comments are almost as fun as Mustie's little giggle the first time he gets a few seconds of run time out of a question mark project ... I just love this channel. I can't get any of my friends to wrench with me in the winter (it's cold here and my garage isn't heated) so this is where I get my fix at this time of year. Thanks Mustie! And the rest of you commenting men!
I don't work on this type of stuff at all but love this channel and watch every episode , I feel like I could properly diagnose my lawnmower if it failed to start after the endless hours I have spent watching you do it. Awesome job man, you're the best.
I love watching you in your own comfortable environment without whatever pressures would come with a tv series. You got a good thing going and all your subscribers love your content. You're an excellent mechanic and very fun to watch. I appreciate everything you've done for your fans and your channel
In the sixties my dad found a Maytag kicker at a barn sale in VT. We brought it back to Boston where he evicted the critters, cleaned plugs, points and put a fire in her. He impressed me as you do. I’ve been tinkering ever since. Could you do a Maytag one day. It would mean the world to me. Fascinating how many people seem to think they know better than you. With a good teacher I would only ask questions as your answers fulfill my my need to learn. I love Lilly and Moe
Mustie1, I think you made the right decision. You have a personality and charm that makes for fantastic long-form viewing. The longer versions have an educational component that walks the line between instruction and entertainment. Well done.
I'm sorry it didn't work out with the tv show. I used to like watching the old car and hotrod related shows before they got involved. now i watch you and a few other RUclips channels instead . thanks for the great videos.
Seen this thumbnail but never clicked for some weird reason. Glad I checked out this re-upload. Awesome machine man! It can be used for work and for play. Nice one Mustie! You've done it again!
If my channel was as successful as yours I'd be a very happy guy. You bring life to old iron I bring to life old model trains. It's not as fun to watch but we all have our hobbies. Keep it up Mustie1 you're doing a great job.
It's you that makes your channel a success Mustie,Your content has always been entertaining since the first time i found your channel years ago. Please don't change a thing.
Velocity bought the rights to a few UK television shows, changed and promptly ruined the basis of the show. I'm glad we got to see your video rather than them having rights to use it. Have a great 2019.
Great video! That thing is an awesome build and execution! Its like an ultimate workers quad! Just brilliant! Hey had you considered maybe moving toward studio lighting? Your auto ISO on your camera evaluates the whole of the shot, and often times your flashlight "Clips" (loses detail) whereas if you had a softbox that had the whole focused area lit up more evenly, you wouldn't lose detail, and everything would be easier to see for both of us. Not to be nitpicky, just thought maybe you might appreciate some feedback as you seem to be detail oriented too. Love your content man. Always heard of you through Rpeek and others but not really a VW fan, so never checked out your stuff, but I was mistaken, really enjoy your quality and thoroughness on these junks you can give new lives to. I have been good with smaller engines, and have learned quite a bit from watching you! I used to go out and watch Kao work on Kawasaki's for the same kind of thing, back in the day before the youtube explosion, but he wouldn't talk nearly as much. lol So, really like this format! He would always discourage this kind of thing though, he just didn't want us bringing him our junk all the time! Cheers m8 and happy new year! Looking forward to more impossible seeming projects!
Since i saw it on that video where you had it under snow (if memory serves me well) i've been gathering parts to make one. It's such a neat design, especially the rear section.
Glad you didn't do the TV-show. This was not a "full" Mustie1 video. Saw the original videos a year ago (when you uploaded them), and the TV edition lack "the Must". But good to see the old RatRod again.
I think that creation is not only cool but shows a true talent and vision. I always look forward to each new video. Thank you for all the work to bring us great videos to watch!!
Bravo Mustie1! You said NO to the Master of the Puppets! You are absolutly right! No TV-channel will pay your time! And thats one of the biggest problems in business - and there are much more "little" problems too...
I need this. Literally everything I've been dreaming of. Have a big steel framed wagon I think would make a good start. Either be a bed or a chassis. Just need to find some parts.
Hey there mustie1...Im so glad i found your channel, i have spent days and days catching up and it is amazing what you do with the restoration of the items you find. Im located 20 miles from Manchester...but it's the one in the UK !! i just wanted to say thankyou to you , We are very similar in that i enjoy fixing old things here in the uk, and a guess we are about similar age. Wishing you all the best from the other side of the pond !..Regards Steve
wow that's very cool. trying to make my own cobbled together racer with an old Clinton 414 engines hopefully the next year. hopefully, it makes a good video for my channel!
Solid rig that!! Giving me ideas now!! Nice work bringing her back to life... you have waaaay more fun than most hey... just sayin' :D Going to say... you VW guys are next level... (and not because you own and run them) cos' you think like "engineers"... That never give up attitude... dig a little deeper... fix the damn thing....!!!) Lovely to see, personally... the sense of humour when encountering problems... and you... Mustie1...that giggle, you let out, is a vast contrast to the expletives I let fly... Love the channel!!! Keep up the epically awesome work mate!!
I started watching this and said to myself "self I said, didn't he already do this one?" And then of course I re-read the title of the video. Fun times you have with your "toys!" Thanks for sharing with us your talents. Hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas.
Here in the UK we used to have a program called: "this is your life" You were presented with a portfolio at the end of the show... That carb would make an ideal contestant...
A shame you missed that TV show. As a mechanic, I would love to make the same money to fix something purely for the fun of it, then work on my own stuff without a backache. Hopefully they will come back around. You’ve got a good way.
Mustie1 Ah, got you. Probably worked out for the best for us, then. I would imagine that YouTubing would have been off the table. Your notoriety seems to be growing anyway. I would think someone will come along with some more favorable terms.
I can't speak for everyone but I enjoy the in-depth stuff better. The reason I'm hear is to hang out and learn a few things. Keep doing what you are doing!!!!!
Hey MR MUSTIE1 SIR...so glad i found these vids of yours...i like how you go about fixing things so i can get a better understanding about these kinds of small engines/motors,....ive got dads john Deere tractor not wanting to start last year(spring), you have given me the hope and some confidence of trying to get it running myself at some point this coming spring..the TRICKS that you use and explain make complete sense to me !! I get a kick out of your humor always...just wanna tell you to NOT TO CHANGE the way you are and the way you work on things ...youve got quite the following ! Keep up the great work and effort you put into these vids...thank you !!
This exact scenario happened to my 98 Suzuki Katana 600. Needles and seats failed, flooded entire engine and crank. Luckily nothing was damaged and it's fine. I could not believe how much straight fuel drained from the crankcase
As always you made me smile young man..lol. I think the boy in us all will try anything to make things run no matter what.. keep `em coming bud, as its always a pleasure to watch the mad doctor perform his magic on rustie mustie vids..Wishing you a happy new year from the UK.
This is one of the first things I really followed on your channel.. I wished you would do another... hey what about building a replica servo-cart with a old motorcycle , a 4 wheeler rear and a utility trailer
Ahh... makes much more sense now that I've seen it on my PC with the full description. I was wondering how come Brian had short hair in this video when I've seen the curly hair in other vids! That thing looks like a whole lot of fun!

They're forcefully taken over RUclips as we speak you know
Or, since no one owns the electro-magnetic spectrum, unless its the people, we should reform the FCC and dis-consolidate the networks and the media.

Can you do another project like this? It’s what got me into this channel.
I would watch this man if he was making toast
bwahaha... good one, you are right. I would do also. Greets from Vienna
Might have a funny taste - I saw a measuring cup with fork oil in it ....
Man, that thing made my little farmer heart go pitty pat.....
If you ever go to hangout with John and Ike on carsandcameras bring this with you.
thats the plan
@@mustie1 awesome.
@@mustie1 Hell yeah my man
Holy Cow! You've GOT to swing over to Sanford and build something with Jonathan W.
@@cranki6316 jonathan w. and mustie1 that would be truely amazing
Best Christmas yet! Seeing the quadactor alive!
I will never get tired of watching mustie working on a some kind of engine.great vid as always.
I'm sorry it didn't work out with the tv show. I used to like watching the old car and hotrod related shows before they got involved. now i watch you and a few other RUclips channels instead . thanks for the great videos.
You are having way too much fun with that ATV.
Seen this thumbnail but never clicked for some weird reason. Glad I checked out this re-upload. Awesome machine man! It can be used for work and for play. Nice one Mustie! You've done it again!
that thing is funky ! good to see you & Brian having some fun with it :)
That is an extraordinarily cool vehicle. From a chap with an eye for art and engineering. Love it.

I remember it turned out purity cool. Still lmfao when your better half was learning to drive it.
Awesome beast you built. It's inspiring me to build something similar.
Velocity bought the rights to a few UK television shows, changed and promptly ruined the basis of the show. I'm glad we got to see your video rather than them having rights to use it. Have a great 2019.

Fun to watch. Hope to see some past projects being worked on this winter like the 1968 double cab and Cushman.
Too much Mustie1 magic cut out - still fun to see. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year
Since i saw it on that video where you had it under snow (if memory serves me well) i've been gathering parts to make one. It's such a neat design, especially the rear section.

So glad you turned down the TV deal.. They edited all your brilliance out. Keep up just being you. Happy New Year!!!
The best content on RUclips! Plz dont stop making videos ever!!
*@**18:42** Perfect timing-*
*Get the scary, loud death trap running, with a funeral procession in the background.*
Ahhhhh that mustie chuckle, the sweet sounds of success. As a fan you will here it in every video
velocity missed out.
Their loss, our gain.
Your yard creature is awesome. Simply genius, thank you for sharing your project with me.
I think that creation is not only cool but shows a true talent and vision. I always look forward to each new video. Thank you for all the work to bring us great videos to watch!!
Need more videos of home made stuff this is by far your coolest toy
That is one very cool machine, nothing like the sound of an angry engine. You have a very nice play ground there. Thanks for posting.
Wow.
You were very nearly almost famous!
I loved the rat quad build.
Thanks.
That is a awesome built monster machine. I asking myself why someone hasnt put them into production.
You sure have a vision for making things. I really like it
Bravo Mustie1! You said NO to the Master of the Puppets! You are absolutly right! No TV-channel will pay your time! And thats one of the biggest problems in business - and there are much more "little" problems too...
I still think you should build a sxs out of that quad! It would be a fun toy and a great project
That was a great video... shame it didn't make it to tv ...
I need this. Literally everything I've been dreaming of. Have a big steel framed wagon I think would make a good start. Either be a bed or a chassis. Just need to find some parts.

Almost, beats a Mud Mower...
Yea it was worth certainly a second watch. Happy new Year.

Hopefully you're working on a bike this year too. If so looking forward to it.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting to sit thru one add right after the other in order to enjoy a Mustie1 video?
Here in the UK we used to have a program called:
"this is your life"
You were presented with a portfolio at the end of the show...

What!!!! You started it after carb clean without us! Goddammit Mustie

Classic Mustie1, good stuff maynerd.
This should be good seeing the edited version.
Looked like super fun.
I feel like there are very few people who have more fun that Mustie.
This exact scenario happened to my 98 Suzuki Katana 600. Needles and seats failed, flooded entire engine and crank. Luckily nothing was damaged and it's fine. I could not believe how much straight fuel drained from the crankcase
ATF & Marvel M Oil is my go to when it comes to this type job.
I've seen you clean stuff before you start to work , but that's the first one I've seen you have to prune !! lol
Unsurprisingly, one of your generator videos would have been enough to win a tv spot.
I was looking forward to the Mustie show.
That riding....savage!
Thanks for sharing. Great video!
Looks like a fun tory.
As always you made me smile young man..lol. I think the boy in us all will try anything to make things run no matter what.. keep `em coming bud, as its always a pleasure to watch the mad doctor perform his magic on rustie mustie vids..Wishing you a happy new year from the UK.

Wahhooo it's a beautiful vans and also those who are outside 😍😍😍😍😍I am a fan of the first hour
Much respect to you, Mustie1.
Looks like you got your money's worth after just one use! Awesome ride dude.
Here's to a happy and safe New Years to all in " Mustie Land".
I feel like this is a re-upload... but it's so much nicer!
please read the description
I can just see that geeky guy , with the little copter, in the second Mad Max movie putting across the desert on that thing !!
great job, mr mustie.
Their loss, our gain! Keep going Mustie, you're doing just fine!
Great vid as always 👍and yes we got to see crusty at the end brilliant 🤙🤙
your wife must really love you to put up with all that stuff in the yard.
Hydrolic? Bucolic? Phenolic? Bibbity bobbity boo! Seriously it is an excellent video and shows your persistence.
Nice, you got the mud flying too! Hope you had a great Christmas, all the best in the new year.
WOW the old bikes are amazing man. Amazing. Very cool.
Enjoy watching your channel thank you
