@@nonamenoname1737 I firmly believe they do not. They have plenty of it and always have the capability to put it up to other teams. Many times, they emit a shocking penalty kill. And even at times, when short-handed, they make it even worse for themselves by going 5-on-3 down.

Best in the West! It's been a long time coming, but once the retool started, came sooner then expected. Demko is the Thatcher of the roof that won't leak. Great game back after his injury, and he'll be a huge help going into the playoffs. And who'd have thunk it! Tyler Myres of all people with a shortie! Amaized he was actually available to kill a penalty as he's usually the one in the box, and he actually looked like a goal scorer on that goal too, drilling it blocker side! In fact, I think pretty near all the goals beat Markstrom blocker side. I guess the Canucks found a weakness to exploit.
If by west you mean pacific then yes....Stars still above the canucks. But yeah...it's been a great season. Hopefully they maintain focus and discipline in the playoffs. Yeah Marky was having trouble there.
@@doublestrokeroll You could say Marky Mark had a funky bunch in his blocker, and it was a bad vibration, a dirty sensation! 🤣🤣 and I used "west" because it rhymes with best while "Pacific" does not.
As a Canucks fan who outside of the bubble hasn't had a whole lot to cheer for in about a decade, this is a special night. Nashville is really hot; it will be a tough series, and it's very possible they'll advance, but we can all worry about that tomorrow. It was starting to feel like we'd never put it together with this core, and I'm glad they finally showed us why we were right to believe in them.
You ever notice that defense men give the puck carrier a wide birth in their Zone most of the time. It is like the puck carrier has to be visually inspected for measles or mumps before they decide to challenge him.
Pettersson's pass to Höglander was really nice. MIller's goal was a sniper's goal. Also, Miller showed a perfect example of how to behave on the ice when you're up late in a game: If you score a goal, act as if you have scored before. That's class. I suspect that disrespectful celebrations when up cause bad blood, fights, injuries and a lot of mess. I also suspect that disrespectful celebrations motivate the other team to fight harder. If I was a coach, I would tell my players to tone it down. Exceptions; when you score your first ever goal then every team mate on the ice should do it, overtime winners, and of course, when you win the Stanley Cup...
Canucks с победой!!!! Демко с возвращением!!! Отличная игра всей команды. Ванкувер вперед за кубком, начинаются игры по взрослому, надо играть и побеждать.

speak for yourself. I like the skill, and he seemed like a good "locker room" guy but I'm much more happy with Lindholm. The face off wins alone are worth the price. Canuck fans and their hard ons for Kuzzy...it's really weird. Canuck fans always feel the need to adopt a puppy. Cody Hodgson, Jared McCann, Frankie Corrado, Hunter Shinkaruk....and on and on....lamenting the loss of mediocre players. It's a canuck fan pastime.
@@doublestrokeroll I did adopt a puppy. She's great, overlooked by many. Not one of those players you mentioned had the joy that Andre had off the ice. They were all "yeah I'm in the NHL you want an autograph get in line" Kuzy is more like the kind of guy you might nod at on the street and he'd ask YOU for a picture. Whatever team he's on, you can't dislike him as a person.
@@pricechaos873 - I love Kuzzy. Great person. Gun player. The dude said about signing him in the off-season. That's just a dumb hockey move. Doesn't mean we can't support him wherever he is.
we need Soucy, Petey, & Lindholm to find their game ... if those 3 can get it going we just might make it to the 2nd round ..... Garland should just share his Angry Elf Juice with them 🤣
Did you NOT see Petey's Greatzky like pass to Hoglander for the easy tip in? Seems to me he's finding his game already. Soucy played well, other then a stick drop and Lindholm put on a clinic of shutting down Draisaitl, which is very tough to do, so I'd say they are all finding or found their games.
yeah not sure what you're talking about. EP's been playing well and Lindholm has had three or four excellent games. Haven't been paying attention to Soucy but didn't notice anything terrible so that probably means he's been doing fine too.
@@doublestrokeroll Given Soucy's role as a shut down defenseman here, that's the whole point. If we WERE noticing him, it would likely be for the reasons we keep noticing Myres - missed checks, and/or bad penalties. He's doing neither so is exactly what a shut down defenseman should be, invisible. I agree 100% with the others. Lindholm was playing badly until he took time off to heal up from an injury, but has been doing a lot better since coming back. Peterson's been doing well too, though not as good as he was early on when he was really lighting it up. Though I'll also be fair to Petey and mention he's been struggling with bad line mats much of his slump. An Injured Lindholm, Makeyev in the midst of a 20 something game goal-less streak, Suter/Misc checkers, and finally Hoglander who gave him his first good winger since he was separated from the Lotto Line.
@@Seriously_Unserious All 3 of these guys have reported themselves to not being able to find their A game lately ....so DID YOU NOT see those interviews...i'm not making this sh** up ffs ...amazing the stupid hater comments that come out when someone dares speak the truth
The live commentary during play was brutal to listen too. Defenitely need study teams and players more as they were off for both teams. Almost muted the sound at one point.

I liked this game but hoglander should have been benched after attempting to butt end the calgary player and cross checking the other flame in the neck almost
So if Dallas loses last game and Canucks win both teams have 111pts. reg win 51 Stars have a 2-1 series games. So I guess this would give Dallas the Western Conf.?
They're around, saw someone in the replies to another comment still trying to claim Petey's "invisible" again tonight, despite Petey's Greatzky like pass to Hoglander for the easy tip in. As for Myres, uncommonly good game for him, though I'd say the team could still do better for $6 mil. How he's played much of this season, I'd be happy if he was hitting our cap more to the tune of $2-3 mil a year, but he's still not worth 6! Too many penalties and too much inconsistency to be worth that much.
Not a hater, but they are not wrong. One shot on net, but 2 turnovers tonight, all for 11 million and people are like.....but,but, but he made a great pass. Miller, Hughes, they are the ones who's worth 11 million right now.
@jaywhy2016 Every player has his role on the team. We don't know what Rick is telling Petey to do. We can only presume it a contract to produce a bag full of goals. He isn't playing his best, but he's not an issue as of yet, IMHO. I'd prefer to see how things pan out in the play offs before criticising
@@jaywhy2016 and people like you are like "He made several great passes, set up goal for his team mates, backchecked well but, but but, he's still just invisible and I'll refuse to acknowledge the good things he did or demean them because I have to hate the big contracts." Is what I keep getting from the haters. And while you SAY you're not a hater, your other words betray you and SHOW you to be a hater. I can understand the issues with big contracts due to those infamous Benning Contracts, starting with Louie Eirickssen and culminating with OEL. But Petterson is NOT Eirickssen, nor is he Oliver Eckman-Larson. He's Elias Petterson and while his goals have tapered off late in the season, he's still making plays and doing good things for the team, wither you WANT to SEE them or not.

im trying to figure out whos got the tiebreaker between kings and predators they will both end up on 99 points and 38 regulation wins if kings wins their last game in regulation, help
First tiebreaker is RW (Regulation Wins) Nashville finished with 38, if LA wins their last game in regulation time they will also have 38. Second tie breaker is wins not in shoot out as marked ROW column: Nashville has 44, LA has just 41, so the tiebreaker would go to Nashville.

Joshua was celebrating that last miss...lol. Great game though. The guy has been such a great piece of this season. Really hope they find a way to keep him.
today we have it sooooooo EZ. i remember when ESPN first came out and i hated them... today all you need is a phone tablet or computer and you get to see all the best parts of every game. i feel much more like a hockey fan then i did in the 70's ( when we didnt even wear helmets yet and players/fans didnt want them. ) its pretty AWESOME ! thanks SPORTSNET for your contribution !
Good game..congratulations to the Canucks..Flames franchise went through a lot this season..teamwork makes the dream work. My 39 cents, ..would be awesome to have the Stanley cup back in Canada this year,L8r.
this was the loudest game I've been to in ages. My ears were ringing even when I got home.
Beautiful goal by Miller 🎉
and I used "west" because it rhymes with best while "Pacific" does not.
This was an entertaining game.
Exceptions; when you score your first ever goal then every team mate on the ice should do it, overtime winners, and of course, when you win the Stanley Cup...
forgot how good life is with demko!!!
NO kidding. Without him the roof leaks a bit, but Thatcher's roof is puck proof!
Canucks с победой!!!!
Демко с возвращением!!!
Отличная игра всей команды.
Ванкувер вперед за кубком, начинаются игры по взрослому, надо играть и побеждать.
Tyler Myers and the Vancouver Canucks win over Jonathan Huberdeau and the Calgary Flames 4-1 in their final meeting of the Pacific Division rivalry 🏒🔵⚪🟢🇨🇦
Vancouver Canucks improve to 50-22-9, while the Calgary Flames dropped to 37-39-5
Canucks with Demko is soooo goood!!
Pure Canuckluck. Could have been 3-3 in the 3rd and a different game.
Boy is it good to have Demko back
Good to see Demko in Great Form! A big Thanks to DeSmith & Silovs for holding the the fort! Now it is DEMKO'S time to take us to the Promise Land & Glory to Hoist the CUP! Is every Canuck Fan ready for the Ride of what is PLAYOFF HOCKEY!!Take a Bow for the Reg season! The journey has just Started! GO CANUCKS!!! (16)
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I hope they re sign Myers for like 1x1
Please sign Kuzzy in the off season. We all still love him!
Canucks to trade back for him? Lol that would be ridiculous
speak for yourself.
@@debuthunter5389 we can't still hope he has a great career because he's an all around happy guy? Ok
@@pricechaos873 - I love Kuzzy. Great person. Gun player. The dude said about signing him in the off-season. That's just a dumb hockey move. Doesn't mean we can't support him wherever he is.
97.5% save percentage jesoos
Looks like the Flames got extinguished by Myers and the Canucks 🔥🏒
Demko loses his stick a lot but he’s still great.
Let's go boys!!

close one Kuzy but maybe next time 😎
we need Soucy, Petey, & Lindholm to find their game ... if those 3 can get it going we just might make it to the 2nd round .....
If Calgary had been playing Edmonton and the Oilers had the 4 shots that Canucks scored on, Flames goalie would have saved every one of them.
I was at this game last night
3 goals on markstoms blocker side
Someone tell kadri he has the best eyebrows in hockey.
Go nucks
DEMKO making a STATEMENT tonight!
That statement is "Thatcher's roof don't leak!" by stopping 40/41 shots.
Do the Canucks resume being the best team in the league with Demko healthy?
The live commentary during play was brutal to listen too. Defenitely need study teams and players more as they were off for both teams. Almost muted the sound at one point.
Mikhy pettey hoggy chemistry is going strong i like it
I thought tha trading Markstrom was a mistake, it turnout to be a good move.
Same here I guess the coaches saw demko would be way better than him.
Damn it kuzmenko
I think its time to buy a Miller jersey.
Next year flames, go flames go! 🔥
😂😂😂 Lames suck
yeah next year
Vancouver has to shoot with a beach-ball now, maybe Markstrom can make a save.
All the Canuck goals seemed to be blocker side. Seems like they scouted Markstrom well, and sniped that blocker corner even better.
Markstrom used to be our goalie.
I think the guys know what his weak-points are.
Hey remember when everyone kept saying the Canucks will FaLl oFf or they where punching above there level????? Well business as usual for the Canucks they quiet the noise and want one thing great team this year
I liked this game but hoglander should have been benched after attempting to butt end the calgary player and cross checking the other flame in the neck almost
So if Dallas loses last game and Canucks win both teams have 111pts. reg win 51 Stars have a 2-1 series games. So I guess this would give Dallas the Western Conf.?
The canucks would have the tie breaker for regulation wins i believe for a chance to win the conference.
The Canucks would win it, They calculate the ROW (Regular plus OT Wins)
Searching for the Petey and Meyers haters... They must be on vacation
@@Seriously_Unserious yip, that was a cracker of a pass…👍🏴🏒🇨🇦
So sad, family team must change owners😂
I think it’s so funny how the nhl had to try the ol swithceroo with wild card teams 😂 it’s the same as it was before when it’s all said and done 😂 top 8 teams in points from the western conference and the top 8 teams in points from the eastern conference 😂 just for the excitement of betting purposes like the nfl we now have “Wild Card” teams 😂what a joke!
Who went to the game and did the Bule jersey challenge that was rigged

im trying to figure out whos got the tiebreaker between kings and predators they will both end up on 99 points and 38 regulation wins if kings wins their last game in regulation, help
I see! Thanks alot@@seanmcdonnell2649

Now it's time for all Calgary Flames fans to show their true Alberta spirit and cheer on the Edmonton Oilers en route to their 6th Stanley Cup!!
One of the top dogs in the west will take the crappy canucks out sooner or later. These overconfident canucks fans are insufferable.
maybe. maybe not. I get you're probably a cheese eating butt hurt 13 year old but there is a solution to your problem....just don't come post on boards where canuck fans are obviously going to be.
@@doublestrokerollI find it hilarious how VAN fans are afraid of vegas and they're dying to play the kings/preds in the first round. So they have zero faith in their team against the real cup contenders. Why are you so confident?
@@LKM0235 I think you're making a strawman. Not very logical. If there is a team most canuck fans don't want it's the Kings as their style has been the most frustrating, and they've done well against us. The canucks have played the Knights fairly well.
I didn't say or imply anything about "confidence" so I'm not sure what you're going on about there.
Here's how it is. And I know you don't know this because you used the term "real cup contenders" which shows me you have absolutely no clue how the NHL works in 2024. But don't take it too personally. You're not really any different than any of the other morons who post like this.
So here it is.....
There are NO favorites in the NHL. Especially in the west. Any team 1 through 8 can beat any other team. It's entirely unpredictable, and anyone who thinks they can predict winners is deluding themselves. Nothing more than luck if they're right.
The canucks are capable of beating any team in the west in a 7 game series and they're just as capable of losing a 7 game series to any team. They might have a few teams with slightly more favorable match ups but it's barely worth mentioning. A bit of a psychological edge over the Oilers this year for example. But would I be surprised if we lost to Edmonton? Not at all. I don't care who we play. They're all the same. Every team is good. Every series will require discipline to the system and a lot of luck. Because in the modern "pinball" NHL that's what it mostly is to win the cup. Luck.
Only morons make predictions. And there are a LOT of moronic NHL fans who think in terms of "real favorites". Just shows they really don't understand the game.

Pettersson better start playing like the 11 million dollar player. He may not have another team as deep as this for a few years.
You should look at the highlights again, clearly you turned your blinders on when Petey passed it like Gretzky to Hoglander for the tip in. And he's been doing the little things like backchecking well enough for a player who's mainly there to contribute offence. The only thing Petey's missing is his goal production, but as long as he's helping his linemates score, I can overlook that.
@@Seriously_Unserious I watched the game, he had 2 of the teams 3 turnovers, one of them was on the powerplay. It's been like this for months now.

These are terrible highlights
Statistically Huberdeau 10.5 million a year which is close to 13% of the teams total salary. He has the highest minus on the team at minus 29. The oilers total salary paid out is only 780 thousand more then the Flames. Management your Fired. Huberdeau is allowed to play every game except for one all season....Head coach you are fired for not making him accountable for lack of performance. Flames fire Sutter, Vancouver hires Rick Tocchet and within a year Vancouver is one of the best teams in the league. I suspect Sutter and Tocchet have the same coaching style....Flames management your now fired twice.
