  • Hi everyone!
I had this video in my mind for a while, and even if as I said the time I can spend on the channel has dramatically reduced I was so happy to finally work on it that I completed it in less than a day.
The Battle of Nagashino that was fought on 1575, June 28th, has somehow became a major turning point in the history of warfare.
Because even if the Western World still had to reach the same goal, that was the battle when the "three-stage shooting" happened for the first time in history.
Oda Nobunaga managed to claim a decisive victory over the powerful Takeda Clan completely wiping away its infamous cavalry with a smart use of his arquebusiers who, remaining hidden behind some palisades, fired incessantly at the charging Takeda knights, in a multi-line formation in which one row fired while the others reloaded.
The same tactic would be used in Europe by the Dutch only fifteen years later.
So I thought that "The Future of Warfare" was the perfect song for this event.
    Hope you enjoy!^^

Nagashino is possibly my favourite age of battles period battle to study. The seige, the heroic swimmer who got through enemy lines but was captured getting back to the castle, told to lie to the defenders or die,he yelled for them to hang on,help was coming,he was then immediately killed.
And the battle itself,it looks deceptively simple to understand until you look closely at the terrain.

This was a great video. Your editing of the scenes were perfect! The song fit the Battle of Nagashino perfectly.
Another video idea would be to pair Sabaton "The Winged Hussars" and "The Return of the King." I have seen other people do it, but none of them do as good a job as you do to match the scene with the lyrics. Keep up the great work!

@@jaredjosephsongheng372 Yes. The Siege of Minas Tirith was inspired by the 1683 Siege of Vienna. The Winged Hussars are Rohan.

The Dutch learned from the Japanese.
They were the first ones who gave them the arquebis in the first place. Obviously they would learn.
