    I have yet to see anyone record a video like this where it's like your teaching someone else to play their first game... not just a "this is how you play", but rather "let me show you how to play as we play your first match". Big fan of this, I'll definitely be directing people to this who want to have a video reference of how to play.

    • @2CasualYT
      @2CasualYT  Год назад +2

      yeah! Really glad to hear that. I've taught a lot of people around my LGS and I definitely find that a quick overview of the actions (from the rules lite packet) and then jumping into a game with the matched play sequence really helps people get it. Then we have a real friendly game and explain terms as they become relevant. we tried to make our best anagram of that in video format.

    Great video, good learning material!
    One thing I want to mentioned - GW clarified in FAQ, that AP generation happens before activation, so basically Ork Nob can target himself with this ability, but it has no effect.
    UPD: nope, my mistake. Gentlemen got the ruling correct as explained in the comments here.

    • @2CasualYT
      @2CasualYT  Год назад +1

      Thanks for keeping a close eye, but on the contrary, they explicitly said it does work. This is because it happens UPON activation and not DURING (like the comms boy does). This means that the ork boss can give himself 3 AP to work with. the same thing with Mutability and Change from Legionary.
      Here is the direct quote from the core rule faq: www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/ddpXalpiKNFA0S7b.pdf
      (see second sentence)
      "Q: If an operative’s Action Point Limit is modified during its activation,
      will the action points it generated for that activation be affected?
      A: No, unless otherwise specified. Action points are generated after
      determining an operative’s order for its activation, so modifiers
      after that point won’t affect how many action points it has for
      its activation. Modifiers to an operative’s APL when it is activated
      (e.g. if the KOMMANDO NOB uses its Get it Dun! ability on itself)
      could affect the action points generated, as this happens before it
      generates action points."

    Guys, I have a bit of an offtopic question, but not sure who else to ask.
    Can a Legionary player use Hated Assault to double fight and Veteran of the Long War to repeat one of the fight actions (after the target not losing any wounds) in the same activation? Guys at my local club said one can't do that, because there's a limit against doing an action more than twice (even if some rule allows it), but I couldn't find a rule that would prevent such use of Ploys.

    • @2CasualYT
      @2CasualYT  Год назад +1

      You absolutely can, it's repeating the ATTACK and not the ACTION (the thing that costs ap). But I can see where the confusion comes from
      This is valid in the same way that you make multiple shooting attacks with a blast weapon, but is still only a single shoot action. You can even repeat one of the attacks from the many you get from blast using the votlw ploy
      Works no different with fighting in combat (you can even just parry out and deal 0 damage just like we did in the vid even if there are no dice to parry)
      Also if you couldn't do that, the ploy would be 100% useless.

    • @PzFalconer
      @PzFalconer Год назад

      Jeez guys, thanks so much for clearing this one up! This confusion costed me a game last week.
      TBH, having background in Magic the Gathering which has super precise wordings and ruling clarifucations to a good chunk of new cards and mechanics/interactions on each new release, I am kinda surprised how many popular games don't follow this example.

    • @2CasualYT
      @2CasualYT  Год назад +1

      @@PzFalconer yeah no grosser feeling than finding out in hindsight that a game was influenced by a misinterpretation of the rules, win or lose.
      I'd say GW is pretty precise with their terminology too with their technical writing. But distinguishing terms or just normal language can be a challenge at times
