First and foremost thank you for the compilation. The rest of the comment is on SquareEnix's work, not the uploader. I went in expecting to be underwhelmed by Ultima (for all that it looks ok in this version, it's not hardware pushing awesomeness of 1994) it was actually X-Zone/Banish that disappointed me the most. SEEING the enemies get sucked into another world before the portal was even finished forming was an awesome power trip. Some of the other spells had a lot of pretty particles that were unneccary. Fire2/Fira stands out to me in that regard. It was a quick, decisive spell that did good damage. Its prettier now, but it lost that edge. Ice2 and Bolt2 also have an end lag I dont remember. Could be wrong about them, but even if the time is the same, they feel slow. Reflect shields are similarly lacking. And Vanish has the endlag. And so on.
You are welcome, yes SE is the best. I'm just a game player who love playing game and FF games. At the moment, I'm still playing FF16 but not yet finished.
The new Ultima should have shadowy rocks being thrown into the air like the original. Also the new Meltdown is a 1/10 where the original was 10/10. The new one has none of the force or impact of the original.
Agreed. In the old Merton/Meltdown, the sprites for party members would even shake slightly during the spell, indicating the sheer force of the spell. Little touches like that are lost here.
Looks so good. I just don't like meteor. The way the meteors come up from under without impacts and explosions has always been disappointing to me. The rest look great though. Can't wait for this to come out on consoles.
