  • The 5th video from my Shadows recording session last week - 10 tracks in two days for a new album.
    I always think of this one as very melodic on drums, the drum part weaving beautifully with the guitars. It's got a lovely feel and some great 'set pieces'. Easy to forget where the stops are and even easier to forget the way out of the pauses after the tom run downs! I only just caught the hi hat accent coming out of the first tom run down stop - I literally remembered to hit the hat a split second before it was due to be hit 😂 I only JUST got away with it!
    The backing track is original Shadows, with the drums (mostly) removed. So what you hear on this video is 95% my drums, and just a few artefacts from the original drums. I used XTrax Stems II software. Please listen with quality headphones if you can!
    More tracks from this session on their way - Apache, Footapper, Man of Mystery, and hopefully Savage (depends how it works out!). I hope you enjoy.
    Drum Tec Pro Series shells, Pearl Mimic Pro module, ATV Artist cymbals, Porter & Davies BC Gigster.

    Your all in to the Shadows lately, but I must admit It's still awesome music to play and listen. I played also a lot of their songs back in the eighties. Well done my dear friend 👊👍😎

      Well, I play in a Cliff Richard and The Shadows tribute band, and these videos are all from a series of recording I did recently for a new album of just Shads tracks. Hence all these tracks! I am in two other bands too - and these are very different. One is an originals band - I'll be doing some videos of this soon. Interesting drum parts, its funk/soul/jazz/rock 😊 The other band iS everything from Dire Straits to Neil Young to Clapton to Led Zep, ZZ Top, Doors, Prince, Eagles, Beatles and everything in between!!!! 😊😊 Glad you have enjoyed these Shads tracks! Thank you 😊

    awesome drumming! I was wondering, with how much it costs and the space you've got, why did you choose this kit over an acoustic one?

    • @jouxplan
      @jouxplan  4 года назад +2

      Hey, thank you 😊 Hard to put a price on this kit as it has been built up over 3 or 4 years and is from various different manufacturers. Retail prices - Drum-Tec shells about £3700; Pearl Mimic about £2200; ATV Artist cymbals around £2500 (I have a lot). This kit was a gradual upgrade of my Roland TD20 / TD30, which I got in 2009. I've been an edrummer ever since, using my kit for all live work, rehearsals and recording. I walked into a Drum-Tec store in Germany back in 2017 while on tour with my band, and fell in love with this Pro-Series white kit. Placed an order on the spot. Got the Mimic 6 months later. Gradually swopped out all my Roland cymbals for the ATV, over the next few years. I just fell in love with edrumming 10 years ago, and have never since had the need for an acoustic kit 😊
