'Some day some of them say that our hearts will beat like the wheels of the fast train, all around the world' - thank you for sharing your personal vids from back then Mick. We all love them! 🙏👍❤️
That Mel Gaynor lad, is actually very cheeky, innit. 😂 Thanks Mick. I've heard Once Upon A Time thousands of times in nearly 40 years now, but never like this video with just your keys. Wow! Absolutely beautiful. Stay healthy & we look forward to the next episode, pal. 👍🏻
That's a wonderful rendition of Once Upon a Time, you've given it a brand new "outfit". Any chance for you to release the instrumentals you're playing on all those videos? Would be great to listen to...
Just lovely again Mick. Watching sat on my terrace in Granada, Andalucia, listening to your soothing piano, drinking a coffee and watching the sun break through rain. Simple things, lovely things. Thank you Mick.
Fantastic Mick, as a teenager in Liverpool at the time the only way i could get info on the band was reading the NME and searching every little article on the band. Its a great insight into what was going on behind the interviews etc. cheers. 👍🏻😀
First saw the Minds at Ruffles Aberdeen supporting the Stranglers All these yrs ago..Van was parked Union St..Tapped cigarettes sleeping on floor of an old yellow beat up van..Loved them from that night on...Stranglers were also Superb❤
Wonderful Mick, please please please upload some of the Once Upon A Time demos. I know they exist and I would give anything to hear them as I know many of us would! 😊
A strange dichotomy to see you guys larking and lounging when you were firmly etched in my mind as superhuman deities looking out from the record sleeve...
I'm in the Bahamas on holiday just now reading Graeme Thompson's , history of Simple Minds book....I remember meeting the band in the hotel up at Park Circus in the Tiffany's gigs days....this is a lovely video, thanks for sharing Mick. Your piano/keyboards on BOBT at the Ahoy , Rotterdam on RUclips still blows me away.
Mick, your playing is always so atmospheric. You all look so relaxed; Robin seems to be really cool. And are those all books in Charlie's big suitcase? ;-) Thanks again for this great capture. PS: did you possibly also capture anything about a tour in Belgium, e.g. Brussels? If so, I would really love to see that capture. Anyway, whatever country the next video will be about, I'm already looking forward to it.
The Mellencamp moments are interesting. According to Wikipedia, Jim saw Lisa Germano-Mellencamp's violinist-on a late-night music show and decided he wanted her to overdub a part on Someone Somewhere in Summertime for Live in the City of Light. This video makes me wonder if Jim had been following Mellencamp and Germano for a while-way before the band was mixing the live album. Either way, let's hear it for Lisa Germano: ruclips.net/video/7oYwjzquh7M/видео.html
It s a part of being a touring band we rarely have the opportunity to see. There s something romantic about travelling the world for music, but also somehow boring.
As an obsessive SM fan from the 80’s this stuff is just the perfect charm. Thanks for sharing Mick❤️

Amazing Mick, really miss you in the band 😊
I’m lucky that i discovered your music from real to real onwards thank you mick for all the memories
Fantastic instrumental take of Once Upon a Time there. Complements the visuals beautifully!
Beautiful, simpler days.

Great footage of a bygone, far more relaxed era of time. The eighties: I still miss'em.
Beautiful music & memories. It really gives a glimpse of life on the road with pals back then. Thank you for sharing.
Great days and so fab to go back to the 1980's and watch your video footage and musical ensemble. Many thanks Mick! 🙂

What wonderful videos of your time on tour. Amazing to see 80s teen music fans. It was a special time
Your piano is so soothing. Thanks for sharing this. So magical.
Oh Yeah Mick. My country Denmark. Just as Cloudy and rainy as Scotland. LOL. Two great concerts in Valby Hallen 1986. 💪😉
seeing it is amazing - but it is the music that make it ever amazing - THANK YOU for the Once Upon a Time piano
Thanks for posting Mick. Such memories and lovely piano accompaniment ❤
Wonderful Mick, please please please upload some of the Once Upon A Time demos. I know they exist and I would give anything to hear them as I know many of us would! 😊

Fantastic. Great to have a glimpse of life on the road @86ish. Thanks Mick.
Amazing footage, thank you for sharing some very personal moments.
I am stunned for words - sitting here as a dane and watching my favourite band in a private video with footages from my hometown, Copenhagen 🎉❤😎
@@VikingInvaders your welcome. MM x
@@mickmacneil1 And Mick Macneil himself responded to my comment...😯 God bless you and the fabulous music you have made🙏
I guess a cd with all those themes is highly needed. New Gold Dream on accordion included.
A cd, what’s that? Does anyone still use such a device? 😅
I will gladly buy it.
A little John Cougar Mellencamp to get ya goin’! Nice. Thanks for the memories.
Very special capture is this ... very important to so many of us ... this ones blown me away somewhat ... cheers fella ..stay good 👊✌️✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧
3:23 a guy wearing his pyjama troosers asking Charlie, looking like Norman Fucking Wisdom with that bunnet, for an autograph. Happy Days.
Loving so much these videos, fantastic years, thank you so much Mick!!
Great times with Mel, Robin ,You Charlie, Jim ,I❤ SM
Like old family tapes. Great footage. Seems that Mick miss these times ;-) Come back on the road.
A strange dichotomy to see you guys larking and lounging when you were firmly etched in my mind as superhuman deities looking out from the record sleeve...
Agree:-)!!! Yep, re superhuman...... and here I was thinking they already had private jets back then😂😂.
Keep 'um coming Mick! Great stuff
Thanks Mick pure gold 👍

Great music!!! Beatiful video!!😍😍
Lol imagine seeing Simple Minds, in their prime (yes, no Derek, but the 85-86 lineup was still AWESOME) on a freaking airplane.
Brilliant again Mick. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing Mick!!!!!
Wonderfull! But.. final..? Really? Enjoyed it very much! Thanks having shared these ones.👊🏼
It was the end of that tape. There should be more when I get time.
Awesome sadly they was never the same when magical Mic left
Never been as good since you left, Mick. You have remained irreplaceable.
Jim's coat makes him look like Dr Who! 🙂
Thank you very much Mick
I love these videos mick
Thanks a lot Mick!
Fun to see the old Swedish 10 kr bills - been awhile
Timeless stuff.

Mick you are still the biggest loss in history of Simple Minds. I saw 2 Concerts in 1986, that was the best live show I've ever seen. Unforgettable.
loss*
@@mpk33 of course. Thank you.
@@totofan962 Sorry mate, I didn't mean to be THAT guy...hehe.
Back when Mel needed to have his hair cut..😂😂
Grazie eeeee!!!
Swedish money! Cool!

La Madre de Dios Bendito!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you remember the venue the band were heading for?
Valbyhallen, Copenhagen, 27 & 28 January 1986
Well done👍
Thank you
@@JezG2023tks dude! I have the vynil of the forst night somewhere at my parents’! I remember sound was great
Wish I had seen you live at that time...🥲
I saw them in 1989 at Roundhay Park in Leeds-what a fantastic day.
