Chad you can do it! His mindset really helped me. I was In Your shoes about a year ago. Now I’m constantly low 90’s. I took his mindset and really worked on hitting the safer shot. Since then I’ve shot a 89 and a 87.
@@troybusch2697 Thanks guys. Indeed, I think a lot of people get caught up in thinking they need to be a freak athlete to shoot lower scores, when in reality that's not the case :)

"This is my sixth round with my new clubs and I think I'm ready to declare that their performance is identical to my old clubs" had me absolutely rolling. This is my home course! So good to see you play it, and pretty damn well!
I cannot stress enough how valuable this video is to my game. Watching you play, your swing isn't particularly pretty and you don't hit the ball particularly far, about the same as I do with the long clubs and a bit shorter with some of the shorter clubs. Which is to say that your 'weapons' aren't really any more potent than my ones are. Where you save strokes on me (15 hcp) around here is 1) short chips and long putts - these generally go pretty close or very close with the putts, letting you have a really good chance with your next shot 2) better misses - your misses are almost always playable, suggests you aren't overswinging, overplaying your abilities like I am sometimes 3) fewer blow-up holes, and damage limitation when it happens The lesson for me here is if I want to improve my handicap by 10, I don't really need to do anything to my woods/hybrids, I do need to work on narrowing the left/right dispersion of my irons, and definitely need to work primarily on the finesse part of my game - short putts, long putts, short chips, long chips. Thanks for the vid!

I broke 80 for the first time yesterday, the course was empty so I called my dad when i was on 17 to come by and pick me up instead of biking home so he could watch me play 18, he got me into golf and he watched me break 100 for the first time a few years ago, and 90 back in august, missed a 3 footer for 78 but a 79 still works im getting better fast so hopfully I can break par this year or next
Great stuff Adam, people need to realize you don't need to have everything perfect or be physically gifted to do what you do. I play with lots of single digits that only hit it 220-230. Have a decent short game and keep it in play and boom single digits. I'm dedicating this year to tightening up my short game and figure I can go from a 3 to a 0. Keep on keeping on!
Yesterday, I shot a 97 on my 6th round ever. That's 20 strokes better than I've ever done. It was watching your videos and listening to your advice that helped me the most! Keep doing your thing, man
No, because I had my 11th round yesterday and it was right back to the 110s for every round in between. Turns out, it's just a links course magic so I can find my ball instead of losing them
I went dawn chasing this morning and shot 79. First time in the 70s in about a year. 10 years ago my index was in the low 4s. I’ve just started tracking again and I’m sitting at a 9.2 (only 4 rounds in there right now). I have stopped trying to hit draws and fades like I used to, and have just started hitting it straight. The math is pretty simple. I have a GHIN index, but if you don’t you can create an spreadsheet to do the calculation. your index is your average score over par (if you shoot 8 over on average your index is 8) but your handicap is around your top 30% of scores (so if you shoot 8 over on average you are probably a 3-4 handicap)

At least that course leaves a buffer strip around the water. My home course doesn't and anything close goes straight in the drink. As a Turfgrass manager it drives me nuts
Brutal!
What’s your turnaround with these videos? Not trying to be creepy, but I’m interested in when I can get these conditions in that area :)
Sometimes I'll sit on footage for a couple of months before releasing a video, other times I'll release them the day after playing. This round was actually filmed the day before my release (on May 6).
Is this round with the new clubs?
Yep
What was the total distance you played?
Only a hair over 6,100 I believe. Par 71, though.
I can hit off the tee and fairway as good as you, but the main difference that has you under 10 hc and me over... is being tidy under 100 yards
Yessir!!

Thanks, Nate.
Breaking 80 including a triple is impressive stuff.
Thanks, Lindsay. Have time for another round before I leave town next Monday?
whats the difference between an index and a handicap. all my google searches make it complicated, can someone explain it like i'm 5 years old xD?
Index is more official, technical, and accurate scoring from a website. Handicap is what you shoot on an average. They’re basically the same thing.
your index is your average score over par (if you shoot 8 over on average your index is 8) but your handicap is around your top 30% of scores (so if you shoot 8 over on average you are probably a 3-4 handicap)
@@tk-unc wrong.
@@bolecrink wrong.
@@tk-unc my index is way lower than my handicap. i'll have to look into it more, but nobody ever askes what my index is, I only have an app for it.
I love how you comment missing with the putter on pulls a few times. PGA average is 28.9 putts/round, even with the triple you're still only at 30. That's PGA level stuff!
They're hitting more greens than I am, though, so my "good" putting stats should be taken with a grain of salt: the more greens you hit, the more putts you are likely to take. Nonetheless, appreciate the kind words :)
Only if I could have a few rounds of 30 putts. My 7.3 index would be a lot lower!
We all have our strengths and weaknesses lol
Yes we do. Lol. Great content as always. Keep it up!

One bad hole from a 75...my game in a nutshell
haha jah feel
Slow and wins the race!
lol
At 7.3 right now. Last 3 scores have been
38 (9 holes)-81-37 (9 holes). Hopefully I can manage a 6 soon. Goal this year is to get to a 4
Love it. What do you need to do to get there?
@@NotAScratchGolfer Avoid doubles more than anything else. That 38 could’ve been a 36 if I didn’t double the first hole. The 81 had three doubles. On those hardest holes just try to swallow my pride and not be too perfect. On the green in three is the name of the game.
@@buffaloben15golf88 So course management! Love it.
Mine has recently been going up lol
im sorry the thumbnail.. ?????
I'm currently at 5.1 and man do I wish I was at a 9+ purely for playing opponents
Lol I hear that
Love the channel Adam but 6.8 isn't a 6. C'mon now buddy
Lol, I suppose I could have made the video title, "the day my index dropped below 7 again" :p
pretty short course…..505 yard par 5 and a 278 yard par 4.
Yep
I’m not even a 6 handicap for 9 holes.
#goals
Looks like illegal drop @ 5:19, if it was on cart path then you are entitled to one club length from nearest relief point, no closer to hole.
Shut up
Very well might have been. I just kicked it off the cart path lol.
6 handicap? I dont know about that lol
I'll play you as a 12 if you prefer :p
@@NotAScratchGolfer That would be great because sadly my game has been complete garbage 😭
Work on that takeaway
No
@@NotAScratchGolfer You must like wet noodles.
