Thanks, Kerry! Yeah, lately I feel like I've been arriving late to the tee and putting myself under pressure for the first couple of holes. I'm not a big practice guy, but getting in just a few swings before the round would probably do me some good. Are you a warmup guy?

It's interesting about picking up and giving yourself a treble when on a blowup hole. I don't know anyone who plays like that where I live. I'm at a stage where I still pick up a 10 or 11 at least twice in a round. If I went to cut that down to a 7 or 8 I'd feel like I'd be lying to myself.
That's how I play Golf. Carefree and a who cares attitude. Just happy to be out there having fun with my mates hitting a ball. Score is just so unimportant for me these days. Played Club Golf for many years and ended up getting tired of having to be so serious with the other players and trying to grind out scores. Won my fair share of trophies and don't need any more of them.
I already use a lot of this advice. It’s just a game and is supposed to be “fun”. I have learned over the years to not get hung up on bad shots. Annoying, yes but not the end of the world. Also I’ve learned that practice is key. I’m not going to get better without putting in the work and this year I have noticed a change in my play.
Thank you for taking a max triple. That’s always been my rules since my dad taught me to play to keep speed of play up and I don’t believe your handicap keeps anything more than a triple or double depending on the hole? Dudes who want to play for 5+ hours keeping every shot are annoying.
yooo Adam- hdcp question. On the first hole, you took a triple 7 on a par 4. According to the handicap system, wouldn't you have taken a double bogey as handicap 0-9 has a max score of double bogey? I'm just curious for my own scoring because my handicap is mid 20's still which would have a max 8 (i.e. could take 5 over on a par 3, 4 over on a par 4, or triple on a par 5 as max score). The score you took would insinuate a handicap in 10-19, which I don't think you are? Thanks!
@@brandonhoff1154 almost.. but it's how it works. Not quite no more triples but at his HCP level the max score is a double bogey. Adjusting the scores looks like: 40+ handicap- max of 10 on a hole 30-39- max of 9 20-29- max of 8 10-19- max of 7 0-9- max of double

Obviously in a tournament you count 'em all. For handicapping purposes, the max you can take is a "net double." So, for example, if you are a 5 handicap, on stroke holes 1-5, you can take a triple, and on stroke holes 6-18, you can only take a double.

In a tournament, you play it out and write down your score. For the purposes of handicapping, the max score you can take is a "net double." Angry golf. Uhhhhh! That's me! Me and the Hulk have one thing in common...always angry! On the golf course anyway. Just seething underneath, mad at myself for making mistakes with things I know I can do better with. Even sometimes when I'm playing pretty well. That front nine 37 should have been a 35, missed 2 putts I almost always make. Grrrrr I'm angry! When in reality I should be grinning ear to ear with that 37. I know it hurts my play more than anything in the long run.
I'd strive for incremental improvement vs thinking that it'll change overnight. If you can dust off the anger one more time in your next round than you usually would, that's improvement to be proud of. Let it build from there.
Why not just drop and hit 5 to see if you can make a 6? Its just my opinion, but being as good as you are, i would think you'd want to get the ball in the hole before moving on to the next, even if you take a triple the old fashioned way.
