Glasnow on IL to preserve his health, yamamoto is on IL to preserve his health, Kershaw is going to parachute in whenever he wants, stone and miller are young and have a long time to be good, Paxton isn’t a postseason pitcher, Buehler just needs to get through the season healthy. Postseason pitching matters, and as long as the Dodger’s can make it to the postseason, the regular season doesn’t matter at this point
Great content!
Casey, really good stuff !
It's starting to look like ohtani and the Angels deja vu.
You have to play mistake free to beat the Phillies. Unfortunately, Pages losing sight of Merrifield's pop up was the play of the game imo. Next two batters were outs and Gavin would have had a 1,2,3 inning. Instead, two more runs on the board and he gets chased. Otherwise, thought the Dodgers responded from the previous game (bottom of lineup production/bullpen strong/defense was really good). I thought Gavin pitched well, but that Philly lineup is tough. I wouldn't say they got cheap hits, but certainly not the hardest hit balls and it just fell from them.
Not to pile on the mess, but Gavin's innings load might be a concern in the not so distant future. I could see the team giving him a Glasnow break at some point, maybe when(if) Kershaw returns. I'm looking at the injuries/mechanical/loss of stuff issues as a positive, as it's forcing the team to give prospects some run. I doubt Wrobo and Ryan(shortly) would have otherwise been called up this year, and their ceiling or potential is just as high or higher than Stone's (who's been great). Together, they could repeat the surprise production we got from Miller/Pep/Sheehan last year.
Is it me, or did Freddie looked gassed last night? He wasn't smiling, he wasn't chatting up the base runners, he looked a little stiff running. Maybe the team should make him take a game or two off.
I love your show. I'd go with Vargus at third base and I'd address the batting order for starters. I'd move Ohtani back in the order to third or fourth and make Pages my lead off hitter in hopes that he'd get more fastballs.
Thank you Anthony, really appreciate that, great ideas
I can't remember where it was they said that 100% crochet is gonna get shut down for the 2nd half and primarily used as a reliever and then built up to be a starter. That, to me, is a major red flag.
The Dodgers have the ability to load manage & get exactly what they need out of him. And, he puts them at the front of the line, IMO. That's why it's important to maintain a comfortable lead in the Division.
Thanks Casey
If you think Yamamoto and Glasnow are at high risk of injury (I agree), you have to think the same of Crochet. First year pitching starters innings, past history of breakdown indicate a very high risk of injury with him as well.
I agree, but the Dodgers are one team that can load manage, which is why I'm very strong on why it's so important to maintain a good lead in the Division to be able to do all of these "Big Picture" things.
@@dodgersdaily Yes, I think having the good division lead gives them options. But I'm skeptical of load management being effective at preventing injuries. With so much emphasis on velo, spin, and max effort injuries aren't preventable, no matter how careful their workloads are managed. Dodgers are as careful with their pitchers as any organization, but half their staff is on the IL. The solution (IMO) is to draft and develop command and control guys that don't need max effort to get hitters out.
IE Gavin Stone
Agreed
Gavin Stone should be the Dodgers number 2, not Yamamoto.
Lmao ok white boy
This team need a wake up call ...Defense lost that game
😱😕🙈😳😩😬😢
the Phillies havent played anybody... just a paper tiger... how are the dodgers losing to these guys
Dodgers need to trade for Bichette and either Gausman or Basset from Blue Jays
This team is not as good as last year's team. They cannot produce when they have runners on base. And it's all of them, so disappointing to see these multi millionaires can't do the simple tasks of basic baseball. In my mind even if they get pitching back their offense is the problem.
Your top star player crapped out. Looked like over paid.
