Hi! Can you do a collab with my other favorite RUclips Reactor Ovela? He reacts mainly to Filipino contents too. 😄 He also made a vlog about Marcelito Pomoy's concert: ruclips.net/video/VAR3B5qa_1s/видео.html
Voice coaches are usually expensive here in the Philippines and if someone in the family or in the neighborhood has a know how in singing they usually become the "coach". 🙂 it's nice that you appreciate the talent of Filipinos because for real most people here can carry a tune.
True. “Vocal coaches” here are the ones who are most experienced with singing, not the one who studies it in school for a degree. There’s no better teacher than experience or someone with so much experience
OMG, it’s almost 1 in the morning here in the Philippines and when Efra cursed in tagalog I laughed out so loud and my husband who was so soundly asleep jumped out of bed, startled hahahahaha I really love you two hahaha
I love that it still surprises you both when you hear ordinary Filipinos singing or belting in malls, or in inumans. My son-in-law had a friend who stayed with us for awhile. He had the most beautiful voice that my Dad would set up the karaoke everyday for him to sing. EVERYDAY.
You’ll know that singing karaokes is serious in the Philippines when there are ordinances and resolutions from the local government to regulate the noise from these machines, now imagine how many karaokes are there in a town for these policies to be created, Pinoys loves to sing and belt a lot, while the foreigners gets amazed, the locals often than not get annoyed by the sound, that is how common karaokes are here in the Philippines. You will first hear it in the morning and will end your day hearing it still!
I'd like to believe that Filipino's were gifted by God not just with our passion for music but also with a "teachable tongue" in learning other langauges too. You'll be surprised to know that many of our millenials are fluent in speaking Hanguel/Korean and they learned just by watching Kdrama/ while reading subtitles✌😂 e.g. KZ singing in Mandarin, Sarah G singing in Nihongo and many others singing in Spanish
Takeaways... Efra swearing in Tagalog is FIRE... Waleska's reactions are LIFE. You both are the gems. Thanks for your channel. The newbie subscriber has a tremendous library to watch!
haha efra is starting to be filipino little by little. he even said the "P.I." word so fuently lol. honestly mall free karaoke is our after-school-go-to way back. this reminds me of my youth.
This is an amazing duet. And that guy's singing style like bending some notes at the end of each phrase, it's pleasing to hear. He's so good. The girl's version is the Charice one during her performance with the Tenors. They're both great.
3:42 my mom met Marcelito here in Canada and saw him perform. Dude I had NO IDEA he was even in here until my mom posted pictures with him on FB. She said he was very funny and humble.
You'll have plenty of experience of live singing here in the PH when you come here. Just about any province/nehgborhood/restaurant/mall, etc, there will be live singing/ karaoke. What you watch are mostly in malls or inuman or gatherings because that's where karaoke is usually set up but even inside our homes, we do sing because it's part of our day to day. When we g to church, we sing. When we're inside public vehicles like buses or jeepneys, the driver would put on the radio or music in flash drives as backgroud and anyone can sing along, even the not-so-good ones like me. Also, it's sad but beggars also sing on the streets to entertain people and have passersby's attention. It's only when we saw reaction vids that we learned that it wasn't usual in other parts of the world. Also, after seeing a lot of your reaction vids, you sometimes ask why some kids now know songs from the 90s or 80s or 70s. It's because most of our parents who were kids during those decades listened to those songs and introduce them to us aside from the latest songs in our own era and Filipinos treat them as classics. They are still played in radios. In radios, a 24-hour day would be segmented to genres of music. Sometimes, an hour or two for pop and then another for rock, another for old songs, another for dance/club music, etc. Sometimes, there would be a segment for when listeners can call/text the DJ whatsoever and have their song requests played so other listeners also get to know some songs that are not always heard in radios or TV. Lastly, Efra, that pu*******mo sounded so Filipino!
The prayer is a second national anthem here in the Philippines...in school every activities 7 out of 10 chances that you will here this song in an invocation part...either someone sings it Acapella or a group of students dancing interpretatively in backing track....everyone here is familiar with the lyrics... especially if your part of a performing arts club
this is just how "The Prayer" song so famous in PH & how we love it so much that many can sing it literally anywhere & anytime & in this case whoever with! hahaha And oh if its not a fact but many will agree with me that CEBU is very known of 2major things: many Cebuanos are naturally great singers & sxpect them to speak good/better English than our own Filipino(Tagalog) language! It's not that they can't or don't know how to speak Filipino its just that their thoughts are better convey either in Cebuano or English!
you both so cute everytime i see you amaze in ordinary Filipino talent. honestly thats an ordinary scenario here in the Philippines. i think every nation can do that also, not only here in our country.
We sang 'The Prayer' for our grade 6 graduation. I could still remember the lyrics and I could still sing it, both parts, both languages, with all my heart lol
In the Philippines, karaoke usually plays at the TV, speaker section of the mall, and employees/attendant of that section usually sings along, and if there is a customer that wants to sing, they can. Filipino and our karaoke is a serious business. hahaha
When i first saw this video online, i thought to myself, “this will reach wale & efra and i’m just gonna wait til they drop their reaction video” boi i couldn’t have been more right 😂😂
My family and I watch this video together and FRIGGIN EFRA curses in TAGALOG... WE LOOK EACH OTHER IN THE EYES FOR A MOMENT and START LAUGHING HARD...WTH EFRA YOU GO WAY TOO HARD ahahahah... HAVE A GOOD ONE.
the video was taken in CEBU, Philippines... its a place in the Philippines were mostly of its residence or should i say cebuanos/cebuanas are majority can sing well. the language spoken is BISAYA but they can speak english and tagalog.
thank you guys, I never really appreciated our singing culture until I started watching these RV.. probably because it's normal here🇵🇭🇵🇭 I think singers here approach voice coaches once they're already famous. for improvement and maintenance, I guess. and Efra, that is a perfect execution of our favorite "putang ina mo"🤣🤣🤣 we say it all the time🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
The Prayer is popular in the Philippines and those two had thousands of hours replicating singers and singing karaoke. That basically explains that and usually the one who is stationed to sell karaoke usually is a good singer.
This mall is located on the oldest street in the Philippines, Colon Street, here in Cebu. You know who else are from Cebu? Morisette and Pilita Corales.
One of the qualifications here in the Philippines if you are saleslady/salesman in a videoke or music instruments in a mall is, you need to have a good to excellent voice. By the way, the girl was former contestant of "Tawag Ng Tanghalan" that's why she's good.
Hello this is Aneza from Cebu Philippines.I am the one who took the video. Riolyn and John are thankful and honored. You can reach me if you want to interview them both. Thank you!
While watching this, there is a concert happening tonight in our Barangay for the coming Fiesta next week. I can hear them clearly because they're singing in the school stadium just a few walks away at the back of our house. Not sure if they are local singers in our province or maybe they've invited someone famous because they sounded like Aegis. I just finished doing laundry by hand, so kind of tired to check and see, my hands and shoulders hurts but I enjoyed it because great singers are in the background =) I'm just gonna enjoy listening to them because they are all good just like these two amazing souls in the video.. I always love your reactions. You two are also amazing. God bless you more!!!!
Some malls/shops here in the Philippines hire staffs that can sing or carry a tune to promote their karaoke machines. But sometimes, the bystanders are enough to hype the crowd
3:30 Hi Efra. It's the other way around actually. Josh Groban got really famous here in the Philippines, and his version of the Prayer with Charlotte Church became the gold standard for that duet, which is most likely a contributing factor why Marcelito even selected that song for the doble kara. Practically everyone knows what The Prayer is and is performed a lot on karaokes, singing contests, etc.
I noticed this video was originally from a travel vlogger, you might want to check out this uk travel vlogger who engages with the locals of the islands of cebu. The vlog is mergim vlogs and the title is KARAOKE with Filipinos I just met, moalboal philippines. Or try to check "Filipinos are the coolest people on earth," where he spoke locals and you'll see the island music environment. If you find the videos interesting, please support him. Thanks and sorry I dont have the link but i hope you can check this vlogger. I think watching this vlogger will give foreigners an idea on who how to interact with the locals on the islands in the philippines.
It’s quite entertaining seeing people at the mall karaoke, though many times it’s common hearing people belt notes and stuff.. you know like the typical Whitney, Mariah, Celine, etc.. so we just proceed w/ our shopping w/o stopping to watch. The Prayer is a staple karaoke song.
Waleska, Yung babae sya si riolyn tuhay, dati syang sumali sa TAWAG NG TANGHALAN sa showtime. Please watch her performance. 'diamonds are forever' ☺️♥️
Here in dubai when its friday and saturday night i expect our next door neighbors of course pinoys to be belting their hearts out until wee hours of the morning...im not conplaining coz they all sing well...im just afraid that one day the indian family next to their flat will complain to building management LOL

They don't know each other ..no rehearsal and they harmonized so freaking perfect..amazing ❤❤❤
