The Night elves lost SO MUCH and now their secomd leader had to sacrafice himself being gone AGAIN. He also holds relevance as the top druid regarding to nature. Dozens of students and a symbol of hope to his people. It puts extra weight on his wife who already had a mental breakdown. Like Blizz cmon. ;,)
idk these two characters have been ass for like 4 expansions now night warrior was kinda cool but other than that as a night elf player good ridance. at least they finally got a good if not great moment

Likewise, no one suspected that Ysera would no longer be the dream aspect, not even her. It was once she returned that she realized that her connection with the dream was no longer what it was.

So here's one of the things they lost. About Darnassus... It could have gained a visual update without Teldrassil being burned down. But what matter even more (to me) would be the people who burned with it. Most of the kaldorei population is said to have fallen, and we only rescued their souls, not brought them back to life. So even if we get a new tree, we do not get those people who fell...

Their ancestral home/territory was willingly abandoned by them once they started civil war Cenarius got resurrected Most, if not all trees got regrown And now they get an Aspect, as a leader, and Malfurion haven't been around for 10000 years anyway. Cope and seethe, treehugger.

The worst part about Malfurion dying is that Ysera didn't even do anything when she was resurrected. It was in her daughter all along. So Ysera came back from the dead to..... umm.... be alive instead of Malfurion...

What is even the last thing malfurion did? He was on the war of thorns but did basically nothing there, he was in legion but after emerald nightmare he didn't show up (not like he did nothing in there anyways) and... pretty much he did nothing since the firelands where he made some vines, that's it So I don't why is he revered

At literally no point in the Valsharah story does Ysera trade her life for Malfurions. Xavius corrupts her with the tear when she attempts to attack him, the players and tyrande kill her, then the players rescue Malfurion. Where in this chain of events is Malfurion saved by Ysera
I mean weren't we all looking for Malfurion in that time period, and she ended up being corrupted because of that? They took the danger on and she paid the price. HE sees it that way, not that its objectively a 1 for 1 trade. Anyways if you think Malf is gone forever and that is angering, you know he isn't lol.
Ysera and Malfurion can make an arrangement like persephone's situation with her mother and hades in greek mythology. Malfurion can stay for 6 months in ardenweald in exchange ysera switch place with him for the other half of the year. I see no reason why they couldn't make this deal.
That is basically what the idea is behind this plot point. The WoW team pointed out how it probably wasn’t conveyed the best but it’s basically a situation where Malfurion will stay in Ardenweald until Ysera is done with her task on Azeroth, this will also make Malfurion wiser and more knowledgeable. So for the time being Malfurion will in hiatus until the expansion is over I assume.
Basically Malfurion to Ysera: Hey look, Azeroth needs you once more and let's say I haven't slept for a long long time. Shall we make a deal? Please don't tell Tyrande that I'm just sleepy.
Malfurion is a top 2 mortal character in terms of power they just can't include him or he should curbstomp and ruin the narrative. They don't use Malfurion and Velen because they are just too op.
yeah they had to bring back the burning legion to show us what Velen can do. Last big thing I remember from Malfy is when he helped players with Cenarius and Hamuul fight Ragnaros in the Firelands. But since then they've been using him sparingly sadly.
The veil will be restored once everyone's left. Thus Tyrande will meet Malfurion again when she'll be dead and not before, which theoretically can happend in two months but also in a millenia or two.
I feel so sorry for Tyrande. After everything she has been through, the unimaginable losses one after another - her people, her home, her dear friend, and now her beloved husband. I really hope she will find peace once more, when the time comes. She really deserves some rest.

Malfurion is the prodigy child that received no love. He has been nerf since warcraft 3 and barely contributed to the lore. They could have use him for this expansion, instead of khadgar again. Surely Illidan is now flying back at speed of light.

And yes, i have read the dev comment about the whole "Persephone" analogy and how they're just temporarily changing places and Malfurion will return stronger and better than ever blah blah blah, but this is still so goddamn contrived. Danuser is a hack writer who can't even keep his own storyline details straight.
The voice actress for Tyrande is Elisa Gabrielli. I believe her husband voiced Tirion as well. Give people their flowers while they are still here ♥️ It saddens me that out heroes like Kevin Conroy are beggining to pass away, and we should never take the moments we wake up each morning for granted. And it isn't just limited to the voice actors, but the entire team behind these cinematics as well. I just wanted to highlight Elisa because she has done outstanding voice acting work for Tyrande, as we can all feel around 0:53 .
I can see it now.. Ildan sitting some were and then gets a bird message "Tyrande single" next picture Illdan's phone is spinning in the air as he is already road runner style sprinting back to Azeroth!
Maybe its a power level thing, lore wise there few mortals on his power level, the fact that Blizzard totally ignores his power levels is another story

Tbf he was a shitty character in Warcraft 3 as well, Illidan was justified in his pursuit and Malfurion had zero good reason to have him locked up or exile him. He had good moments, but so very few. Tyrande and Illidan are by far better written.
If i remember it right: Xevius captured Malfurion and Ysera got hit by corrupted seed when she tried to rescue him. I think that Xevius planed to use corrupted seed on Malfurion but Ysera turned out to be better target for that. So Malfurion is kinda right.

@@GazingTrandoshan Her character was concluded pretty decisively before. All of that sounds like needless padding, that also diminishes Merithra as a character by making her development focused around her mother instead of about becoming her own person in her mother's absence.
Even when this leaked, its never felt like “Malfurion is gone”. I get the feeling either A: Malfurion and Yesera will trade places as needed for a time. Or B: when the aspects actually do get their power back, Yesra will still put her daughter forward as the new Head of the Green Dragonflight, and Malfurion will come back. It would make sense for them to kind of cheat and bring Yesra back for the full on dragon expansion, even if its just for that.
I have to agree with Tyrande on this one. Most of the elves are as old as her, and they're anything but defenseless sheep in need of a babysitter. Surely there are some of them that can take the mantle of leadership, Shandris being chief among the choices. Hell, if anything, BfA and Shadowlands proved that she's as prone to making mistakes as anyone else. Let the poor woman rest. Away from all the mess that is trying to keep alive a race filled with easy to corrupt isolationist hippies. Away from the Blizzard writing team that seems desperate to prove something about strong independent females and killed one of the main characters of Warcraft 3 with no heroism or fanfare just because they could.

I just love people malding about WoW and "The Story makes no sense!!!". Well, duh, most of the time in wow lore, stuff don't make sense or simply follow the idiot plot (Plot points and arcs that exist entirely because certain character act like absolute and total idiots) Sometimes, WoW tells compelling and i teresting stories. But for real, i have read all the chronicles (and loved them). But you always have to take WoW Lore with a grain of Salt, it's not Tolkien and doesn't need to be. I think it's fine they brought back Ysera and Malfurion has to spend time in Ardenweald (maybe forever, maybe not idk)
The very first character I ever made in WoW was a night elf. To this day I still love all the elves but they are kind of just here to take an L now and it’s a bummer.
Tbh, I thought we were cut off from the shadowlands since the story ended. For now, this is necessary until Y’Sera can transfer the aspect power to her daughter.

To be fair, it wasn't Malfurion's time either...he wasn't even in any danger of dying. Xavius corrupted the Tear of Elune with his nightmare magic and used that as a projectile to corrupt Ysera. And yes, i have read the dev comment about the whole "Persephone" analogy and how they're just temporarily changing places and Malfurion will return stronger and better than ever blah blah blah, but this is still so goddamn contrived. Danuser is a hack writer who can't even keep his own storyline details straight.

And it isn't just limited to the voice actors, but the entire team behind these cinematics as well. I just wanted to highlight Elisa because she has done outstanding voice acting work for Tyrande, as we can all feel around 0:53 .

If i remember it right: Xevius captured Malfurion and Ysera got hit by corrupted seed when she tried to rescue him. I think that Xevius planed to use corrupted seed on Malfurion but Ysera turned out to be better target for that. So Malfurion is kinda right.

Finally someone who agrees! His character as described in the lore and in WC3 is great! But blizz doesn’t portray his personality enough, I think I’ve seen more of his personality in this cinematic then I’ve seen in awhile.

Even when this leaked, its never felt like “Malfurion is gone”. I get the feeling either A: Malfurion and Yesera will trade places as needed for a time. Or B: when the aspects actually do get their power back, Yesra will still put her daughter forward as the new Head of the Green Dragonflight, and Malfurion will come back. It would make sense for them to kind of cheat and bring Yesra back for the full on dragon expansion, even if its just for that.

I have to agree with Tyrande on this one. Most of the elves are as old as her, and they're anything but defenseless sheep in need of a babysitter. Surely there are some of them that can take the mantle of leadership, Shandris being chief among the choices. Hell, if anything, BfA and Shadowlands proved that she's as prone to making mistakes as anyone else.
Let the poor woman rest. Away from all the mess that is trying to keep alive a race filled with easy to corrupt isolationist hippies. Away from the Blizzard writing team that seems desperate to prove something about strong independent females and killed one of the main characters of Warcraft 3 with no heroism or fanfare just because they could.

Well, duh, most of the time in wow lore, stuff don't make sense or simply follow the idiot plot (Plot points and arcs that exist entirely because certain character act like absolute and total idiots)
Sometimes, WoW tells compelling and i teresting stories. But for real, i have read all the chronicles (and loved them). But you always have to take WoW Lore with a grain of Salt, it's not Tolkien and doesn't need to be.
I think it's fine they brought back Ysera and Malfurion has to spend time in Ardenweald (maybe forever, maybe not idk)

The very first character I ever made in WoW was a night elf. To this day I still love all the elves but they are kind of just here to take an L now and it’s a bummer.
