  • In this episode Edward and I install the first 2 of 3 modifications that all C8 Corvette owners should do right after they purchase their car. You will have to SUBSCRIBE to the channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss out on part 2 to find out what the mystery third modification is!
    In this video we install front radiator mesh grill guards that I purchased on eBay to protect and hide all the pesky rock chips that start to make the front radiators look like crap and a set of side air intake guards I purchased from Paragon Performance to make sure nothing gets sucked into the engine. Just a couple of general protection modifications to help protect you!
    We hope you enjoy the video, thank you for watching!

    I would put ceramic brake pads on the list with a Z51 model.

    You need the strut tower caps to keep water from collecting in the webbing. Paragon also has the light blades for the front which completely changes the look of the car for the better

    So I've never seen front grill guards quite like those before....they look like they are going to block quite a bit of air flow. I know it's a Z51 with extra coolers but those look pretty restrictive compared to other guards I've seen. Have you notice any issue with it cooling since they were installed? I suppose if its just being driven casually it won't matter but at a track I could see those being an issue.

    • @midlifecarisis_
      @midlifecarisis_  8 дней назад

      I would agree with you looking back at what grills are on the market they weren't the best choice. I have not had any issues, but your correct, it is a casual driver not a track car. Thanks for watching.

      @SK-pn1pe 7 дней назад

      @@midlifecarisis_ Right on....I mean, these are by far the most protection I've seen out of any guard....so if it's a casual driver and it s cooling fine...then I think you nailed it...these are perfect.

    Woah! You need to toss those grill guards. Chevy was very concerned about adequate air flow to those radiators which is why the OEM grills have giant holes. Chevy does now approve of Paragon's grill guards but if you compare them with yours you'll see why. According to Chevy yours are going to toast your transmission. They look super restrictive. Worst I've seen.

    You should have used the radiator guards from Paragon. The are fastened in with screws and not the shoddy zip ties. Paragon guards are much more professional installation.

    • @midlifecarisis_
      @midlifecarisis_  Год назад +1

      I would agree with you, I did not find Paragon, till after I bought the front mesh grills. Will most likely swap these out an go with Paragon before summer hits. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

      I got mine from Paragon Perf. and I agreed. Their grills have clips and nuts & bolts instead of zip ties. And it looks much professional.

    This video was Pretty Useless to me first 4 things I did to my 2022 Corvette Stingray was 1. buy a Blue Attack air filter, 2. buy a Corsa Extreme catback, 3. get my Uniden R8 radar detector installed on my car thru a wire tap connection, 4. get the silver factory corvette wheels powder coated High gloss black metallic. and all this will end up costing me $1500 and I am geting it all installed Monday March 27th. Great Video guys it's just Not what I would have done with my car. ;) Peace~

      I have had no overheating problems yet! We will see in the Texas summer heat coming up. These are not a specific brand on GM/Chevy's list that I know of.

    • @jimhineman8695

      ScrapeArmor are the GM approved ones. They are less restrictive than the ones that are being installed in this video.

    • @jeffwehmueller4336
      @jeffwehmueller4336 Год назад +1

      The ones shown on this video are junk. Stay away from anything that isn't an open mesh style. These plastic junk ones are way too restrictive and you'll have cooling issues. Many on the market that are sooooo much better.

    I did it on mine. And, sorry to say but I am very bad at installation, but I think I did a better job with the front grills than you.
