The bit of advice I would give is: remember is this a proactive healer.
It's easy to fall behind if you haven't been proactive to reduce party damage, be it with Pain Sup (even on a dps and they have CD's), Rapture (blanketing your party with huge shields ready for a big hits) finally your Bubble (this is usually under used waiting for optimal timing, just use it like another pain sup, best on melee).
Prep atonement for when damage to the party lands, if you don't do this you will instantly be on the back foot (In some cases, you can prep atonement w/ heals, bubbles or renew so that you can have 2 radiance if the damage is prolonged. those 3 heals also provide a longer atonement.
Also remember to increase your passive damage/healing through DoT's and Proc hunt ready for those big ramps in damage to your team. usually put up 2 or 3 DoT's and spread from there with penance. DoT's provide a huge amount of healing overall.
For your main CD's: use rapture in 4 ways to give yourself breathing space to catch up by stopping damage, pre pull so you can focus ramping damage if its not a dangerous pack, before damage like i said above or even just to spam into a single target for the best single target healing in game if they have done something dumb, its a pretty low CD so use it fairly freely. Your mind bender is pretty good CD to match pulsing party damage while you focus on spot healing. You can also use it just ramping up damage to get your team healthy again. if you have this talented, make sure you use it often, its a lot of damage overall.
You want to make sure when damage hits your party you know what does the big Damage to get the most healing out of your atonement, things like Divine star which does healing and damage and Holy nova (Especially when proced) can provide a lot of damage and healing and often go overlooked.

Bro i legit didnt even realise that it doesnt give int. Why it wouldnt give int? Why would blizz exclude this item from ranges, considering that it has a bigger range than belor'relos...mistakes were made man!

Welcome to Area-52. It's my current home server and where I started after a 9-year hiatus from my original server. When I came back just before Shadowlands, I always played healers and tanks, and a few dungeon groups made me never play my favorite class again.
Haha thats sounds about right. Recon the realm itself is not that important anymore but i'm happy i fit right in with you lads! Gonna see some things i might regret in the future for sure :D

Ping is like 115 in dungeons which isnt too bad to be fair. For everything else, i cant speak yet :D
Disc without gear is just asking for pain. Hopefully you get some gear upgrades soon, can't wait to see more.

You'll get better at disc in time, but for the love of all that is good and pure in this world: mouseover targeting friendly units. Never click the party frame to target, as you then need to retarget the enemy to DPS.
Yea that seems very weird so far. Tho i remember i tried mouseover dispelling years ago when playing pvp and it was a 50/50 if it worked or not with my mouse buttons. Tho youre right. The target changing seems off so far
@@Kussi_Slayer Strange. I've never had a mouseover not work. You don't even need macros now, as the game settings sorts out all of this for you. Hope you give it another go. It's really just better.
respect for playing disc without friendly mouseover macro's xd (PW shield, renew, radiance, penance, pain supp, flash heal)
I recon it makes a big difference. I never really got into mouseover usage as my mouse buttons usually bugged it out and some spells like dispell never worked reliable.
After playing for years on European servers ( Turkish Nether baby 🐺 ), last year I moved to maple country and, of course, to NA servers. My experience with NA players has been a lot nicer. Hopefully, we will meet in the dungeons!

As a healer myself i recommend mouseover casting helps alot imo rather then having to click on the nameplates
Ima really have to try that out, since that was very unrelyable in the past for me with certain mouse buttons for some reason.
@@Kussi_Slayer i use it on every healer i have and havent had a issue its in your combat settings you just toggle it on so helpful

@@Kussi_Slayer Its funny that its ALWAYS the biggest noobs and casuals crying the most. Last season i made it to +27 (3.5k) with pugs, this season i quitted after week 3 witk 3k. I cant handle this stupidity anymore. Funny enough that i got Fyralath 4 weeks ago and didnt play at all after that.

I am back in wow after almost 2 years. I also chose to play disc priest again. My beginning was almost the same 😂

If you want to save your hands from the smite spam in the long run, turn on Hold to Cast. Hold to Cast was a godsend when I played disc, but it does get broken when you get a Flash of Light proc.
Good thing i dont play with flash of light i guess. May gonna try that out!
I hated disc priest whenever I tried to heal dungeons. All those prep you need to do before big damage is annoying as hell. Enjoy your suffering xD
the prep itself doesnt seem too bad in dungeons so far. it seems alot smoother. its more just the fact that you need to rely on the dmg into heal convert being enough. thats what i struggle with :D
@@Kussi_Slayer yeah, it is a part of what I meant, you need attonment, then pref to have mindbender, then you start doing damage so it is like 4 seconds before you can heal unless you prepare before the big hit. And yeah, I don't like this concept of doing damage to heal either
Its a different style of playing yea. But using one button to aoe buff people up is ok. Also radiance does mad healing. Could be worse! :D
@@MegaAlalo idk man, it isn't so bad as you're making it out to be. You cast radiance to get atonement out on all (and a decent amount of aoe heal), then put out your mindbender and start your dmg rotation.
If course, in high keys you need more prep more often with rapture, barrier, pain sup etc, but up until +10 you'll easily get away with radiance -> mindbender -> dmg rotation. Throw in some shields and instant flash heals to spot heal dumb dumbs that stand in shit and it's gg.
You can't tell me that's too much prep. Ever since the disc rework (in s2 I think), the infamous ultra long disc ramp is gone.
@@swarles354 i played disc in s2 xD. Since it was my 1st healer my thoughts were that I am not meant to heal at all. Anyway, I am happily married to resto druid now and enjoy it a lot

Oh man nothing worse than tbat! I had one guy that had a WA for whispering me everytime i used PI on him and when dying for his torch proc. So annoying 😂

It's always the healer's fault of course! And they need to be told in all CAPS, ignores main mechanic of the fight, gets hit by avoidable shit but the healer didn't heal enough suuuuure...
I mean i may or may not didnt heal enough...but he also didnt prevent enough dmg. :D

Ah yes, Healing in WoW where it doesn't matter WHY I took damage, the healer should heal me (even though the intagibs are due to _Avoidable_ damage)
Haha yea that seems to be the common idea. Granted on low keys that may works out but as soon as things rip off 80% of your HP, you may should re-consider :D

As a NA player i would try to avoid azerlon or ragnoros players as i have found with much data that 97% are toxic trash/leavers and 3% are decent

How do you Track the Party cooldowns next to the raidframe?
Its called omniCD and you can choose to put them to the left, right or below. Depending on how your frames are placed
