When the guide says to evoke as the first thing, it means to do it pre-pull that and the rune so that as soon as he is pulled you can focus solely on pumping damage

I love how you came back to life at 35:28 lmao. Yeah, pugging M+ is hell, I had to do it in BFA because PvE was required to do PvP then and I couldn't raid and it killed my interest in PvE for several expansions. I'm so glad I could find PvP vendors again.
Hey Mcdoubles if you have time in your next Dragonflight vid, or if you do another one before the ascension update, you should check out the mage tower. It's a single player boss fight that's super challenging and you get a cool class specific xmog if you complete it. It also scales your ilvl so you don't need max lvl gear, but you'll still want full enchants and consumables. It's located on the broken shore in legion if you're interested, I think it would be fun content xD
1 rule I’ve learned playing mage for m+ never hold your cds as long as the pack won’t die during your cds. Otherwise you’ll get those low overall numbers you were getting
Great to see you having fun in DF M+ I feel like a main problem for Retails Specs is that they are very cool designed, but even some very simple concepts just aren't very intuitive to learn from the game alone (without looking at guides) For example, from looking at your clips, frosts ST damage heavily relies on the proper use of flurry - pre cast frostbolt - flurry - TWO icelances This is not intuitive to grasp and especially beginners that do not want to read guides thoroughly are left with damage that heavily influences community perception and (like in this case) the feeling of people trying out specs.
Fire basically just needs a shit ton of haste then it starts pumping. But... also not the easiest.Mage in general isnt the easiest class. You have to get your burst phases, which you have in all three specs perfect and a big part especially on the dps meters is simply uptime. General rule as a mage is. Always be casting. You can blink while casting with shimmer by the way. Also a big part in M+ is managing your cooldowns. Alot of them dont have really long CD's. The orbs, the rune, or even ivy veins or combustion are all around a minute or less. Use them pull to pull. Manage acordingly and have all of them up for the boss fights. also theres some "quirks" you might not get from the icy veins rotation thing. For example as frost if you have enough haste you can abuse the slower travel time of flurry to get two icelances in that benefit from the winters chill effect that the flurry applys. So you would want to frostbolt into flurry into double ice lance. Crit on Frost is decent until 33% which is when all your shatter procs reach 100% crit chance. Well yeah...mage takes practice^^
The way my mage plays is arcane blast use missiles when they proc cant remember the buff name but stacks to 20 then arcane barrage and repeat. Also you got the tiger from the new trading post reward track thing complete enough challenges all reward points need a total of 1k points for mount. Love the vids Mcdoubles.
Not sure where you got the idea that crit is bad or middeling for frost? It's master > crit to 33.33% > haste > crit to some other number I forgot > vers
Please practice a lot more before doing more of those keys.. you should have nearly double the dps that I'm seeing in those clips. Its not about "being first/second" its about the actual damage that you do, and by the end, finishing keys around 20-25k overall dps is acceptable for a 340 to 360ish maybe, at 380 with 2set you should easily be around 40-50k. you just need a lot more practice, gear doesn't matter that much. (obviously it does matter but you're missing fundamentals right now) I say all this because you intend to push to a 20, and you should be hard capped at 10s right now until you start doing proper damage. You're going to get flamed to oblivion or people are going to leave your keys if you continue trying to push with that little damage. You may not care, but its kinda toxic to other players if you're expecting to get carried higher.
Not sure if anyone has told you about this yet, or if you even want it because it can be considered cheating, but there is an addon called Hekili that helps out alot with DPS rotations, you can modify it so it can even tell you when to pop your cd's/defensives/potions etc. Hope that helps! Cheers.
LFG M+ can be pretty polarizing at lower key levels, and it does get moderately demoralizing to a point when you try to push a key up. I have 1 alt and it was a struggle to get anything significant done on it last week because of that. Once you get some score and more gear pushing to a 20 will get easier because youll have more people that know the dungeons, mechanics, and affixes in a more complete sense.
For casters it more about the trinkets tbh, u need your bis trinkets to do their potentiel dps. And they are very external dependant. Locks and mages are like that u need lots of stuff to do well in keys.
Love to see you playing at retail, and +20 is REALLY hard, I have 408 Ilvl and still at 18s and 19s 20 are a big jump from damage, HP and everything, im some weeks in and have 2400 rating (Kinda high) no one invites me for 20
Love your content thought I give a tip. Wherever you flurry always cast 2 ice lance right after. When you flurry it shatters the target causing your 2 frost bolt/ ice lance to crit
@@Mcdoubles Yeah I was wondering why your UI doesn't seem to be showing shatter as a debuff on your target. You might want to look into that because when you flurry an enemy, there should be two stacks of shatter that you want to consume with ice lance. Also you can shatter spells on any frozen enemy as well. Like if you stack up cone of cold damage, you will want to ice nova/frost nova the pack before using the stacked cone of cold in order to shatter it (way higher crit chance). Might not work if you don't have enough haste at the time, but its worth trying.

I just quit WoW 2 months ago cause it didnt really catched me anymore after 13 years of playing... now I kinda wanna play again. Arcane Mage Main btw :D but I still get confused sometimes when to use which spell etc. and I play arcane mage since draenor. But if you really want a dps spike do: Rune of Power, Arcane Surge and after that just spam Arcane Blast until you oom. Then you Arcane Barrage, Evocation and Mark of the Magi and spam Arcane Blast until you oom again. You should deal massive dmg with the right gear.
I feel like you are really gonna enjoy demon hunter Dubz. I feel like the mobility + pretty simple rotation will be your cup of tea. Simple in terms of its easy to learn and still enjoyable. As well that u got pretty good sustain + invulnarability if you spec into it which means u can solo a lot of content.
That mount you got is from capping the trading post for the month. And arcane and fire mage need like perfect rotation during cool downs to do dps. And outside of cool downs they kinda suck. Frost is a little more forgiving, but still need to try and max out ur haste buff duration
I also GREATLY underestimated how much gear matters in Dragonflight. Small upgrades (in my head) ended up giving me dramatically different results. I'm playing Arcane now after this video and absolutely pumping with my higher item level that I got by mostly spamming M+ as Frost
Pretty sur that the addon thats showing you how much of an upgrade is is Pawn? Might want to be careful with using something like that in the future since what it shows you is usually misleading afaik, how good each stat is for you can change a lot depending on how much of it you have, doing some basic sims with raidbots where you just put in your character will probably be a lot better for you in the long run

Arcane Mage for beginners is freaking rocket science on paper. I played Arcane for 3 Season and i haven't mastered it to perfection by now and i rerolled. You have 3 different prio lists and even more for aoe, like i said, it's science.
So I'm new players ice mage and my rotations are a lot easier cause it's do these skill if off cool down if not do this rotation instead and bounce between the two different rotation
Arcane mage has a break point of about 10% haste, to little and you are spending a lot of time doing nothing. to much and suddenly you will find yourself animation locked (animations last longer than the cast themselves resulting in inability to cast until the animation ends.)
dragonflight is a bit harder for caster, they make it so it balance. imo it is close to the sweet spot where melee and range are almost equally hard, but melee has it a lot easier compared to shadowland. But yea modern wow has been harder since Legion, i play private servers and retail at the same time, and the difference has been night and days. WoD has the most mechanic intensity with legion close second in terms of raid. Whereas in dungeons dragonflight has absolute top notch difficulty and freaking love it.

(For example everyone thinks Arcane is just a 1 button spec, but as you came to learn in this video it's definitely not.) For me when I went from maining a warrior/ret paladin to trying out mage it wasn't one of those classes that just instantly clicked for me and I started pumping giga dps. It was a slow gradual learning curve where making small tweaks over a large period of time added up to big numbers. If you stick with it you'll get there. :)

Seems like people think DH is easy and also think DH dies all the time? So is it hard or not? In high keys I’d say DH is hard because you need to be in flow state all the time. You pump so much so often so fast it’s very hard to keep up max dps and also stay in the area of the enemy you are trying to hit with your aoe. I think people are just mad that DH can double jump and fly around because the single target on DH is just bad
on frost youre not consuming your brain freeze stacks man. when ever you use flurry, ALWAYS follow up with two ice lances. only frost bolt if you dont have brain freeze procs/fingers of frost procs.
There's just a lot of nuances you're not dealing with. That's all. it takes patience. you can't expect to be amazing at any of the classes in one day homie. takes time.
get little wigs/big wigs too. and also step your WA game up as well. getting the s1 dungeon WA package has helpful icons regarding m+ abilities/types of mechancis you need to deal with.

I see they finally changed arcane mage. It had barely changed at all since cataclysm. I quit the game in cata, came back in BFA and i could still play arcane. Truly silly.
Bit late xD. But arcane is only really good as raid spec, wanna run the other 2 specs in m+. Mage overall is a class that just scales super well with ilvl/secondaries. If you can get it around the 410 mark (if you can be bothered to go that far) you generally will just end up being top dps. A lot of classes have a silly amount of burst while mage builds, so the higher the key, the more you will do
You can even just spend like 5k gold or so at 70 and get your ilvl to around 340. Almost every slot has cheap crafted gear you can get at the AH. So using your honor want cheating
ITs not the mage class, you need to work on your rotation and learn how to play the class. You saying that you didnt time keys cause you picked the wrong people is pretty funny considering you got hard carried the entire video and did terrible dps.

You evocate like 10 secs before the fight start. You ice lance twice after you flurry. This was very funny to watch.

@@Mcdoubles yea it's a small quest that ends up giving you a account wide weekly quest just do group content and then you get a item to turn gear into set items and each of your toons get the item to do so plus upgrade all your m+ gear with the Valor you have been earning come next week will be no more weekly cap on how much you can earn happy gearing enjoying the content

Seems like people think DH is easy and also think DH dies all the time?
So is it hard or not? In high keys I’d say DH is hard because you need to be in flow state all the time. You pump so much so often so fast it’s very hard to keep up max dps and also stay in the area of the enemy you are trying to hit with your aoe.
I think people are just mad that DH can double jump and fly around because the single target on DH is just bad

on frost youre not consuming your brain freeze stacks man. when ever you use flurry, ALWAYS follow up with two ice lances. only frost bolt if you dont have brain freeze procs/fingers of frost procs.
There's just a lot of nuances you're not dealing with. That's all. it takes patience. you can't expect to be amazing at any of the classes in one day homie. takes time.
use your valor as well to upgrade yuur weapons.
get little wigs/big wigs too. and also step your WA game up as well. getting the s1 dungeon WA package has helpful icons regarding m+ abilities/types of mechancis you need to deal with.
also disregard secondary stats basically and just shoot for ilvl/intellect upgrades my man.
also prio your 4 set over anything too. especilly for frost. its like a 5-7% dps increase regarding 4 set

I see they finally changed arcane mage. It had barely changed at all since cataclysm. I quit the game in cata, came back in BFA and i could still play arcane. Truly silly.

Bit late xD. But arcane is only really good as raid spec, wanna run the other 2 specs in m+. Mage overall is a class that just scales super well with ilvl/secondaries. If you can get it around the 410 mark (if you can be bothered to go that far) you generally will just end up being top dps. A lot of classes have a silly amount of burst while mage builds, so the higher the key, the more you will do

You can even just spend like 5k gold or so at 70 and get your ilvl to around 340. Almost every slot has cheap crafted gear you can get at the AH. So using your honor want cheating

you have 357 and your pvp itmlvl is 390
ITs not the mage class, you need to work on your rotation and learn how to play the class. You saying that you didnt time keys cause you picked the wrong people is pretty funny considering you got hard carried the entire video and did terrible dps.
