I have a 2017 350 Race Red with gen 1 voodoo. I love it , but shes going to the dealer this week for oil consumption. Bone stock it burns a quart of oil for every tank of gas or roughly 200 miles.

Sorry Stangmode, but how does a car guy drive a car completely empty of oil, especially a GT350 Voodoo. Some advice. If the car still has factory warranty. I wouldn't mention or show videos of you running the car with no oil showing on the dip stick. I'm guessing the Engine was also tuned for the supercharger which Ford will discover when they run diagnostics. That can also void your warranty no matter the brand. Good luck moving forward.
Sorry for Stangmode, but he himself said it was getting through some oil. Sould check the oil on an 8250 rpm engine at least every week. This is not on FORD, the car is at least 5 years old, and many of those with a blower attached !!
Yup just like I commented to him. It’s poor maintenance and care. And if the car has been tuned for the blower the warranty is void. I always make sure my car is right before I go beat on it.
Mine's still good too. Just rolled 17K miles. It's always used a little oil (like less than a quart between oil changes or 3K+ miles). Well within acceptable parameters.
@@460duck For sure... And of course I keep tabs on the oil, let the engine get up to temp before getting on it, etc. I think another issue, that I've seen in the forums/groups, is people admittedly add oil as soon as they see any indication it is below the full line. I think you really run the risk of over filling doing that (especially if you check the oil level cold). I follow the supplemental manual and only add oil once it approaches the lower level indicator on the dipstick, and then only bring the level back up half way to full. This is spelled out right in the GT350's supplemental manual.
I know GT350s have those special piston rings, that reduce friction In the cylinder walls, Which allows for a higher revving with less friction drag on the pistons! All of that can creat Troublesome oil consumption, On those early Flat-plane engines. Thankfully, you still have a good warranty to cover it! I wish and cross my fingers it’s nothing major! Wow the garage looks fantastic. The floor is amazing and I really like the wall color and all the decor!!! Thanks for sharing Bro!!! Hearing you say that the check engine light is on is why I decided against the C8 Z06 and I ordered a Dark Horse instead. There is a peace-of-mind need when driving one’s daily car that I require. Ferrari built flat-plane crank engines for years and through their experience knew to keep the size of the motor smaller due to rough running vibrations after excessive heat build up. But Ford & GM both built flat-plane crank engines that were bigger than any Ferrari. One of my close friends just replaced his 2023 Z06 engine, under warranty, but warranties are short lived. The Ford 5.0 engine is definitely a proven workhorse. Hence my decision on the Dark Horse. I know that you will receive your Dark Horse much sooner than me. Mobil 1 sux!! I used it on two occasions long time ago and both times the oil would break down. Luckily the car would shut down but on both occasions I would have to add a few quarts.
350s have had the issue with the oil filters coming off and losing all their oil thats how Adam LZs gt350 burned down at the track. only seen the beginning so far but now seeing the dipstick my thoughts go there
If the filter on the gen 1 or filter housing on thr gen 2 is torqued (16-18 foot-poundd IIRC) it's a non-issue. Never had a problem with my gen 1 and no problems on my gen 2 since I make sure they are torqued down.
