We have been in the ministry for decades, and there will always be people in our sphere of life who are not worth the time of day because of critical spirits and judgmental attitudes. It is not always easy to ignore or walk away, but it is best for our mental, spiritual, and emotional well being to do so.

@ June, I agree with most of what you said…but everyone is worthy of our prayers and of hearing the Gospel. Even, and especially, the lost ones. So I disagree that everyone isn’t worth the time of day. We can’t get jaded when dealing with others. We ALL are sinners and fall short of the glory of God.
I def agree that a critical spirit is very hard to deal with. We have to stay prayed up and put on the armor of God….we do have a bullseye for haters as we serve in ministry. But we have to see ppl now Jesus sees them. Ppl in pain need to know our Savior.
Pray for our enemies.

As a relatively new subscriber, I am so impressed by your upbeat attitude and bubbly personality. I had heard you mention that your husband has early dementia, but had not seen your interaction with him. He is lucky to have you by his side though this journey.
As a retired RN myself, I can see how you have that ability to help him as well as your neighbor. All while dealing with your own health issues. Don't listen to the harsh words of others, until they walk in your shoes, they have no idea what your days and weeks can be like. You are doing great things for your family.😊

Unfortunately social media and the internet provides a media for unkind and hateful people who think they have a right to judge others. I am so sorry that this is directed at you at times but please remember, you have the support and respect of so many more people. And you know what, sometimes we just need a good cry! Jesus sure was my hiding place and my strength when I cared for my dad with dementia. So grateful beyond words. Trusting in Him was my salvation. I can only imagine the depth of your love for Jason. I have watched for years and frankly, I would have probably imploded many times. My husband is my best friend, married 23 years and it would be excruciating to see him slowly decline. You are doing really well. Hang in, the Lord is with you every step of the way.

I always have extra large canvas handle bags in the trunk for Costco or Sams Club to take in with me and pack up in the store. Makes it so much easier when you get home. I did have physical therapy for 6 weeks with just OK relief for back pain. Then she did cupping and I swear I walked out saying "hallelujah... I've been healed!!!! Now, if I ever have another issue..... I will start with cupping! It was incredible relief almost immediately! When you got sad at the end saying that you try to let your light shine....It made me sad to have you give your power to someone who would tear you down. Never let someone like that steal your peace. Your peace is God given.

I moved from Texas to Florida to care for my mother and aunt. Both at different stages of Alzheimer’s. My faith in God is what gets me through. You and Jason are very special. Love you guys.

Leslie, do not let negative people affect you. You are the sweetest soul! No one is perfect. You keep being you! By the way, my son was 3 months premature weighing 1 pound 14 ounces, my life was spent in the NICU a long time. Thank you for what you do to care for those sick babies. It takes a special person. My NICU nurses were our life. My son is 29 now. He went through so much. He is special needs. He’s my life and that experience made me who I am today. ❤ I get how you feel with your immune deficiency. I have rheumatoid arthritis. Most all my joints hurt. You hang in there.

Leslie, I can tell you would be an amazing support helping people navigate through these types of medical issues. I have the greatest respect for nurses. My son has a rare disease called CGD, and I had to give him infusions. He was seven years old and I felt so overwhelmed and so afraid. I thank God for His help and for all the home health nurses who got us through that time. He is now thirty years old and still needs Interferon Gamma B injections three times a week which I continue to help him with. I had/have no nursing education and would never had made it through without the wonderful community of nurses who helped us. Love your channel, and you!

I have so much sympathy for Jason and sweating. The medications I take cause my head to sweat profusely. If I'm alone I wear a sweat band. Leslie you are a sweet kind soul. Do not listen to ugly words from people that feel like they are better than everyone else. I love you both! ❤❤
You are so awesome. You inspire me to want to be better and do better. I am caregiver to my husband. He has bipolar disorder and severe anxiety. He also has suffered 2 heart attacks. After 7 years of trying to figure out a perfect med cocktail for him, they finally got it right. I can totally relate to all that you are going through. Even though you are ill yourself, you seen so good, humored, and easygoing. I seem to always be angry and tired. I need to take lessons from you. God has truly blessed you both. ❤❤. Like you, I am not a fan of dishes. Love a clean kitchen, but our deal is that I cook and hubby does the dishes. I always leave the kitchen clean, with the dishes rinsed and stacked, but I am not a fan of doing the rest of the job.
If I had a nickel for every time someone told me I should be attending a dementia support group or a therapist or a committee meeting for care... Honesty, if I had a moment to myself, I wanted to escape, eat, rest and put my feet up!
Dear girl, there is no one on this planet who could look at you and not see a decent, sweet, hard working, kind hearted soul, striving to be her best for God, under very painful, difficult and exhausting circumstances. You have your own conscience and are free to make your own choices, just like the rest of us. Enjoy your TV watching and ignore those whose choices are their own, too. Never apologize for who you are or how you feel.

Today’s Day in the Life brought back memories of the 4 years my husband dealt with Stage IV cancer. Every day was different and there was no way to plan who my husband was that day. He was hardly ever the same person in the morning before I left for work as he was when I got home at night.
Your time with Jason shows such love of him and all that you do in your life is so special.

Thank you for sharing it all. My LO has early onset Alzheimer’s. Started at age 59. Your experiences are so relatable. One of the hard parts for us is that my LO is still mobile and still has a credit card. He gets caught up in unnecessary purchases (and buys multiples) and also in scams. The scams have been big ones. We have done extensive legal planning, but he doesn’t want to give up his financial autonomy yet. Always wishing you peace and understanding. I know how lonely it can be hour after hour, day after day. I don’t wish our days away, but these are hard days.

Hello have been with you from the beginning. Thanks so much for sharing. I am also living with a veteran who is running parallel with your husband’s symptoms. My husband also experienced head injuries in the war and also Parkinsonism due to significant agent orange exposure. I do not want anyone to experience what they are and the caregivers. The VA does not provide any support groups here so watching and listening to your posts really helps me navigate through this journey. God Bless you and your family.

Listening to your stories is so inspiring. My husband has a seizure disorder. His latest seizures were Friday night, he’s getting them more and more often and it’s taking him longer and longer to get back to being himself. This time was especially hard because we recently got a new puppy who came up with a paw issue and can’t play with our other Golden, so trying to play musical chairs with the dogs while caring for him has been overwhelming. I’m in my seventies, he’s in his late 60’s. Sometimes I just want to give up, but seeing how well you deal with all his issues and then your own health struggles is very impressive and something I would love to emulate. As far as the nay sayers, I know it’s very hurtful and difficult and ignoring the comments is next to impossible but just know you are a wonderful person and anyone who feels differently should just scroll on by and keep they’re negative thoughts to themselves. I agree 100% with Jason, if everyone would just follow the Golden Rule this world would be a much better place.

If you’re watching just to criticize her then shame on you. Leslie, I’ve watched you for a long time. What drew me to your channel was your personality. I had only watched a few of your blogs when I realized you loved Jesus. You have the sweetest spirit. You do a great job with Jason. I lost two sisters to dementia and unless you’ve walked in someone’s shoes you have no idea how terribly hard it is. I want you to know your friends see you and so does Jesus.

I can never understand how someone that chooses to share in your world feels the need to be so negative and disrespectful when all you do is share your positivity, even when you’re feeling not so great, and always you treat everyone with kindness and respect. My mom always said “if you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say it!” How true that is! (I totally understood when you turned off comments! But also love that now I can say hi, send you guys a virtual hug and a message of appreciation for all that we learn from you ❤️)
So tickled you worked in the NICU. I was not a nurse but a unit secretary. The nurses are so brilliant and compassionate. I loved my time working there. And to this day I haven’t forgotten all the things I learned. And I can still read doctor’s handwriting. 😅

My sister thought she had Parkinson’s, but it turns out she has hydrocephalus, which is treatable! They found out through a CT scan and MRI. I’m sorry for your struggle.
@@cynthiafisher9907 Thank you for sharing. Hope your sister is doing well now. My husband has had MRI and has just had a pretty new test for Parkinson’s disease where they take three biopsies…above the ankle, above the knee and on the upper back. Those were sent to a special lab and it will be a month before we get the results. We will see what they tell us. ❤️

Oooooh, Leslie!!! This video has been amazing! It's been awhile since I've seen you & Jason & I thought he was doing fabulous. All your love & caring & support you have given him is paying off by giving you more time with him. Your heart has kept Jason alive & thriving as best as he could possibly be right now. Most women would have shunned their commitment & given up. You are strong in the Lord & your hope is in Him. Only when you were not feeling well the nit picking got to you. Some people might have a problem with a dog in the kitchen. Some might complain because you gave your dog deli meat! Who cares? 🙄😒 Just be happy that God has blessed you with a great life. You are beautiful & have a beautiful heart. I wish I had a daughter-in-law like you! 💕🤗

You two are such a cute couple. Love Jason's shirt too!! So glad he has you to be by his side through this. My husband's Uncle did not have anyone but his 3 children and until he tried to cook food on a propane stove without the pan did they really understand his Parkenson's. His did not do the tremors but was all cognitive. It's so appreciated you showing your journey this has to be helping others. (Judge not lest you be judged) We are all human! You do fine being and setting a great example! People are so quick to judge these days. Please let that bounce! Hugs!
