Rather than being weirded out by him staring maybe oh idk learn a few signs so he doesn’t have to work so hard or appreciate that he’s working so hard to understand you when you can’t do the same for him. Well, don't most deaf individuals read lips to understand what the conversation is about? I wouldn't be uncomfortable. It's their way of communicating and understanding what's going on, and perhaps with his body language and eye contact he was connecting with Tyra to reassure her he understood what was going on.
