@DuckGaming18 SFMM is a sad shell of once great times. I was there last fall and it's sad of how run down due the lack of maintenance in the park. I had great times there 1996-2006. Maybe I'm just getting old and have spent too much time at disney these days. ( I understand there is a large discrepancy of the product they are pushing)
This will definitely bring in the global Olympic crowds to a one of a kind roller coaster. C’mon on the side of Universal City hills, which I do hope that they restore the sign. Hopefully to look like the Hollywood sign.
@00:48 yes they installed those on the right side of escalator now. Also the direction of travel going under the escalator is from that side towards the station.
Sweet! Thanks. Now I know why I missed the install. I figured they'd work at night when it came to the sections over the escalator. But didn't think they'd be doing these ones.
Crazy and wild update today, I was not expecting track underneath the escalator, that was a major surprise, definitely wasn't expecting it, they must've put in the track overnight or very early in the morning before the park opened, but that's just crazy and mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Wow! Missing the flying porta-potties, but track under the escalators is a major milestone! I bet they’ll add some sort of shield or enclosure around the escalators. Hoping they find a way to incorporate the classic "Universal City" sign on the new hillside or supports🤞
I know the following day they got up a couple more supports. I'm sure even more by today. I'm tempted to go back tomorrow. But might wait until Thursday again.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork probably wait. The next set of concrete piers are ready for supports now off of Kirk Douglas rd, They will probably be finished this week. They have been working Saturdays as well.
Thank you!! I'm honestly surprised that the other channels aren't going to the Frankenstein parking structure. I have had a security guy going around on a bike question me being there. But I think he's used to me now. It's a public lot. no reason I can't be there. With that, perhaps people on the Universal Studios media list are afraid of the park not being happy. I'm not on it. So I'm not concerned. 😂
@8:45 once they are done they put boxes on them for fall protection. So you don’t get impaled if you trip. It’s osha mandatory. That’s why if you look at the next part of the track the box is gone because they are adding another piece of support on the right side today.
Ah, that makes sense! Didn't even think about that. Reminds me of a story of when my brother was working a Christmas Tree lot in high school and one of the kids fell butt first on a Christmas tree stand spike. He survived. But yeah. Anyway, thanks for that information! 😀
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork no problem. I’ve been in ride maintenance and engineering for 22 years now. Anything built in nor cal at great America or discovery kingdom I had a hand in the electrical.
A huge support went in today. Being with cables attached until the can attach the structures together at the top. And boxes on all footers now. Looks like we will be done with all footers and supports by end of sept.
I love to see universal stepping up they games in a big way. The competition will make the consumers the ultimate winners in the theme/ amusement park battle
Oh totally!! Especially with what they've been doing in Florida. I can't wait to see what comes after Fast & Furious here in Hollywood. I'd love to see Donkey Kong like at Epic Universe!
Not gonna lie. Def looks more than Supercharged. I can’t wait to ride this. If only Hollywood could frack the land around it for more park expansions. I wanna see Dark Universe, Amity Island, the whole works. I can’t afford a cross country flight to their sister parks. 🥺
Yeah, so much more than Supercharged. And, thankfully, not screen based. Though, I wonder what the preshow and station will be like. I'd love to see a major park expansion too. But, unless the golf course owner sells, I can't see too much of an expansion happening.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Knowing Universal, they’ll probably add a few props and practicals here and there to make the ride more interesting and immersive. Maybe they’ll have a few screens here and there, but it’ll definitely be way more expensive and immersive than its predecessor. I heard word it’s being demolished in Florida soon for another attraction instead. I hope they do the same to the Hollywood version and make it something better. Anything is better than that video game graphic mess of an attraction.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Same here. Nintendo World in Hollywood is okay, but it lacks the space. I think there’s only two rides there. Perhaps if Universal sacrificed a ride like Transformers, it could expand the Nintendo park a bit and add two more rides. I guess only time will tell.
I would be shocked if it takes them until 2026 to finish this! It makes no sense considering how fast they’re working! That new track piece is pretty cool!
Like many are thinking, it'll probably be late 2025 at best. There's a lot more to do than just get all the track installed. There's still the tunnels, hardscape, landscape, theming inside and out, whatever effects they'll have, plus testing the prototype ride system.
Don't quote me, but I believe a civil engineer at work (city hall) once told me that the support of structures at their foundation or (in layman's terms) the part that goes into the ground has to be 2/3 of the total length. As an example, if those rebars were about 25 feet long, then at least 16 feet has to go into the ground for that beam to have the support it needs.
Well, Orlando has the room to do the awesome things they've done and are doing. But this Fast & Furious coaster looks like it could top just about everything at Six Flags Magic Mountain. With that, Universal Studios Hollywood still needs more. I have my fingers crossed for a Nintendo expansion with the Donkey Kong coaster.
Isn't Magic Mountain getting jealous? This thing is moving along!
SFMM just submitted profiling clearance for the new coaster yesterday. It’s finally gaining some traction again
They might be! But I feel they have something really cool on the way!
There’s no way SFMM is getting jealous.Thats one coaster meanwhile SFMM has more than 20
Meanwhile at MM… 🦗🦗🦗

SO BEAUTIFUL INTY TRACK!!
First the Helios Grand Hotel video, and now this. Great day, for me, for Universal videos. Thanks, Chris! Greatly appreciated!!! 👍
My pleasure!
THAT INTAMIN TRACK😍
So beautiful!
I KNOWWW! IT'S SO GORGEOUS OHMYGFORCE
That is one chunky support it’s so crazy how close that track is to the stairway

Oh yeah, it's gonna bring the crowds! Now sure where they are gonna go because the place it already a madhouse. But yeah.
Thank you for keeping the updates coming! It looks amazing! I can't wait to ride it!!
You're welcome!! Also can't wait!
1st piece of ride track?!!!! OMG, let’s goooo!!! I hope they’ll add more in the next few weeks
Yeah! First section that isn't a launch, brake section or station.

WOW! I like the teasing from USH! 😂 Great coast it'll be!
Every step of this project it seems grander and grander.
New uprights were installed overnight (Friday night) next to that piece on the other side of the escalators!
I live 2 miles away with a telescope
Well look at you!! Nice! Thanks for the info. Makes sense they'd work at night.

I'm guessing that concrete space will sit a power generator or something, or access to a section of the ride.
Good job to the construction workers who are working hard to get this job done
You aren’t going to believe the progress today on the track under the escalators compared to this video.

That's probably on average. It really all depends on soil type and soil bearing capacity.

Yay!
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift ride Is this FASTEST COASTER in Universal Studios Hollywood for now
Universal in general
Find the construction interesting but I get to sick to ever go on it
They’re faster than the wait lines
LA county code requires footings go down at least 14 miles fyi
Miles?
