If they have a disaster of a playoff run (like getting swept out of the first round) then I am for a complete tear down and rebuild.
This should be a 3-5 year run of Celtics teams that are in the hunt every year.
If they do win it all, I think Horford retires. It would be the perfect cap to his hall of fame career. But I wouldn't be shocked if he joined the Celtics coaching staff or became an NBA commentary guy. Especially in Boston where he has been loved for years as one of the heart and backbone players.

Funny how when it came to the Celtics beating the Bucks, Middleton being injured is mentioned. However, when it came to us losing in game 7, you mention Tatum only scored 14pts without mentioning injured himself in the beginning of the game and STILL decided to play through the injury. Not making excuses, a win is a win but still, context matters. Without context you can look at it like we imploded but with context, we were very well on our way to make history as the first team to come back from being down 3-0 up until Tatum got injured

In the games the Celtics lost, they have been to sub-par teams or to teams they will need to beat in the playoffs. Almost losing games is to be noted, why? The playoffs are about matchups, games where you win by the skin of your teeth are red flags that a team may have your number and you will be exposed in a 7 games series vs 1 or 2 game match up. Casuals like you live off base stats and the W/L column without trying to understand the nuances of the game. Then want to talk down to others? Go learn the game beyond base stats.
This logic makes no sense for fans to actually be worried about, we’ve lost like 1 game to a bad team all year and have a handful of losses good teams, but is you’re not going undefeated over 82 then shouldn’t contenders lose to other contenders in tough games rather than bum teams?

Are u really a fan if u don’t follow during the regular season? I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid and if I have enough money I buy league pass but if not I still watch all the games on tnt and espn and follow the out of market games on espn or cbs sports app.
I feel like this is similar to 2015-2016 year where gsw had the best record by a landslide about that is a blessing in disguise as it heavily impacted the warriors health. Steph played on one leg basically for the finals and other players for in and out. Just cause your high up in th standings doesn't mean it set in stone, for the Celtics. Their playoff record is good. But they haven't seem to get over the hump. It's going to be harder with JT extension coming up. JT and JB contracts alone hurt them to make a good team in the future. They got to push this playoff

Injuries matter game 7 Tatum rolled his ankle in like the first 3 minutes of last year context. I am from Chicago and live in AZ no I am not a Celtics fan just saying finals no excuses he was trash but making it to game 7 eastern conference finals and rolling your ankle and never coming out of the games gets props from me. He is not an MVP though.
With offense as stagnant as them with no flow or playmaking whatsoever, I don't see them winning the finals. They have talented players no doubt, but all they do is dribble and chuck shots while others stand around.

Jayson Tatum is definitely an MVP level player. People forget that it's a regular season award. Tatum is the ONLY player that's held to the standard of winning a ring to be good enough for mvp. And it's super unfair considering that no other player has that pressure.

As a Celtics fan, as complete as some people write us to be, we need big leads in order to win (unless it's Atlanta, aka worst 2 games I've ever watched). They're horrible in the clutched, as displayed in their recent Ls to Atlanta. I pray the same outcome will end up when we lose 2 games last time (we won our next 9, and we have 9 games left).
