Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 DEX Review (VS DeathAdder V3 Pro)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 окт 2024
- Finally another asymmetrical mouse from Logitech that isn't a G502! Although now that I think about it, if they had modified the G502 in certain ways, it could actually be better than this. As always, it depends what you like, but I think the best comparison is the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro, as the shapes and features are quite similar. Which is right for you? That depends.
Two things to take away from this is that shape really is so important and mouse design is subtle. It's amazing how similar they are in the basic sense, but how different they feel and play in game.
Let me know your experience in the comments!

RJN posting more often, truly a comeback of sorts
I have the superlight 2 and just got the Dex the other day…after 30-40 minutes using the dex i had a pain in my palm and wrist…I think the back part of the mouse it to wide so when i swipe once to turn 180 degrees it feels like a weird movement/unstable aim… when i went back to the superlight 2 it felt so comfortable and natural..been playing cs go and now cs2 for many years and i have over 10k hours…i will stay with my superlight 2 and dex will have to go back. Thanks for the review ❤
Yeah this is what I figured out recenty with my current mouse. I tend to play better with more narrow and lower back hump, specifically right at the back. I have medium sized hands and do relaxed claw and wider backs makes it physically harder to aim and do micro-adjustments. Else I go for a smaller mouse that is less restrictive when it comes with contact with the palm.
I think the Superlight 2 will stay as the main for a lot of people. And maybe in a couple years, a proper upgrade with the Superlight 3.
any csgo2 highlights?
i mean the thorn is a similar shape and decently smaller, i enjoyed it for a few months before going back to a symmetrical mouse. i feel like the dav3 and dex are made for larger hands and arent really all that comfortable for most people despite being ergo designs
First night of playing with it I too had a bit of pain within 2 hours. Couple days later second night though was fine for ~4hrs so maybe just needed to adjust to it a bit.
@@profosist I believe that if you’re hand size si 20 cm and above it should be ok (mine is 18 cm),also depends what games you play.
7:45 The guy telling you to pack up the mouse haha
nice catch lol
lol
that's all i needed to see loll
I'm so glad you're posting
Thanks for the videos throughout the years
I hope you've been well, RJN
Hey Jay! I see you're enjoying the outdoors more (clicked on your channel to see how you are going), that's awesome... I need to do the same, locked inside too much working, thinking of doing more videos that require me to be outside too haha I'm enjoying life though, love being creative. Hope you're well too!
_THE_ review I've been waiting and searching for! Thank you
Shape is king! I love this mouse! The DAV3 is a bit too plump in the hand for me.
Still waiting to see what the Pulsar X3 will do because it is a direct clone of the G703.
Waiting for that one as well so I can decide between X3 and V3 ES.
V3 is just a heavier V3 with onboard gimmicks. Maybe try the V3 in the meantime so when the X3 comes out, you know your winner.
As someone that has never really had a good experience with other Ergos such as the DAV3, Xlite V3 and the Model D I really was surprised by the Dex and fell in love with it
There is an easy fix for that dpi issue you're having. You have to go into onboard memory settings, set your dpi to 1600, and select that profile. It was worse with the old Superlight where you had to download onboard memory manager.
I tried, how do you change the on board settings? It wasn't letting me for some reason... not sure how to use their fancy new Hub software.
@@RocketJumpNinja iirc in the overview click on the little processor icon next to the mouse to set it to onboard memory, then click on the mouse and change slot 1 to desktop default, after u can turn onboard back off
@@RocketJumpNinja Aight I'll do the steps in order. Make sure to follow them closely, and let me know if it works.
1. Make sure onboard memory is off.
2. On the top right, you should have a list of your profiles. I want you to click on that and click "manage profiles". This puts you in a list of profiles.
3. You are now inside a menu, where you have two rows: Games & Applications on top, and Profiles, macros, integrations, and settings below. I want you to click on "Add profile for the selected app" (Technically this step isn't needed, but it makes it easier). Give it a name, like "Rocket Jump Ninja Badaboom" or something.
4. Now, I want you to go back to the menu where you change DPI, Polling Rate, Etc. and I want you to select your new "Rocket Jump Ninja Badaboom" profile in the top right.
5. Next, you want to adjust your profile to your liking. Your different dpi steps and such, but most importantly, you need to click on the three dots to the right of your preferred DPI (in your case 1600), and click on "Assign Default DPI". This is the thing that determines the DPI it starts on when the mouse wakes up.
6. Then, I want you to go to device settings (cog at the bottom left, still in the DPI and polling rate menu), and I want you to turn on on-board memory mode.
7. Then, I want you to click on slot 1 (or the slot you happen to be using in onboard mode), and left click it. It should show a bunch of profiles, both game profiles and the new "rocket jump ninja badaboom" you just made, which is located under "desktop". I want you to replace your existing settings with that profile. Clicking on your new profile is enough.
8. Lastly, I want you to click on Details to make sure that your default DPI is on 1600, and your report rate is the preferred one (I either use 1000 or 2000).
Hope it works. Let me know if anything troubles you.
@@RocketJumpNinja search Google for "Logitech G Onboard Memory Manager" its a separate piece of software.
Nice review as always! I found my endgame with the DAV3 Hyperspeed. Basically it is a mini version of the DAV3 Pro, closer the EC3 size.
You should really start reviewing other brands that are more like "outside the box". I bough the Keychron M4 4K hz and I am in love with it. It's a mouse as almost as bigger as my pinky and I am not even kidding. 35 grams fingertip mouse that let's you have so much control.
Very nice video!
The DAv3 Smooth touch 8k for me is the best mouse at the moment. The shape and the reliability is unmatched.
I'm a huge fan of Logitech, but I have so many problems with the Superlight it's unreal. Scroll wheel failure, double click issues, mushy buttons and creaky shell, and recently battery failure. 😂had them all.
I've been to a total of 5 copies in 2 yrs
I also have a DAv3 from the first batch, and besides a creaky shell it works perfectly.
Any idea whether they fixed the creaking shell in the new batches?
Mine was creaking louder than the wall I punched a hole in.
Wholeheartedly agree DAV3 best mouse by razer by far. Unreal for its performance and price. Goated
The mouse cam in the middle of the screen looks so nice when u aim. Never seen it before like that.
I recently got the Deathadder V3 (non-pro, so wired). Absolutely love that thing for every grip type. Fits into my hand perfectly. With my Roccat Kone Air, I can only use claw grip or fingertip grip comfortably, even though I usually like palm grip.
I don't understand how people can play with Deathadder V3. I have EC2, Outset Ax, a bunch of other mice. No matter how how I grip it, I can't play with it at all, it feels like a piece of soap. The only mouse in my collection that gives me this feeling. Just received Dex, much better, will see how it holds up.
I tried this mouse at the store, the mouse feet/skates are rough. Like really rough.
You are right about the hump on the dex, it felt "artificial". I've got monkey hands that can palm a basketball easily, but I struggle to aim with bigger mice, with a relaxed claw grip.
I bought the Fnatic Thorn. Similar shape but it feels natural for my grip style. Shape is king haha
I love that we passed every bs marketing arguments to return to the most basic status that shape is king. Anything between 50 and 60 grams is good enough, 1000khz polling rate is good enough, switches and sensors are good enough. Now we can go back to argue that a weird ass big mouse can be better for you than a ultralight 2.
I've been gaslighted by this small mice argument for a long time because i thought having thin piano player type hands i'd be just better using smaller tools, but i've experienced the opposite. I've tried 3D printed light mice with shapes like 5% bigger Superlight X or EC2 and it just felt better and better. I went from maining MM710, to be gaslighted by UL2, then trying XM1, and then just going bigger, bigger back humps like a ZA13 or the big Superlight X and EC2.
For some reason I'm having issues with mice lighter than 70ish grams. Just feels too unstable for me, I wonder if I just need to put tons more hours to adjust to the weight.
Completely agree. Idk if it’s just that most gamers have small hands or something, but they swear by the smallest mouse shapes and it makes my hand cramp so bad. Pulsar X2, Logitech Superlight, Razer Viper, everything I tried in that mouse shape was so uncomfortable to my pinky until I finally got the DAV3P and my pinky cramps disappeared
@@HikaruSwift17 Needs a good 2 weeks to a month to have fully adjusted. If you play aim trainers it helps a lot, if you already know how you react to training to that you adjust quicker because trainers usually reveal your bad habits or weak grip.
@@bigman8733 Superlight is still quite awesome how it's fine for 90% people thoug ! But i recomend trying 5 to 10% bigger superlight, pmm does that if you wanna try with a second hand G305 electronics (and you can buy the modkit only)
Shape is king, and finding the shape that fits you is the hardest part. I find it hard to find a mics that fits me. I have done everything from the logitech 600 / razer MMO mouse to a logitech Pro. Most stores here does not offer refund if you open the box. and stores rarely have mouse on displays. So i gave up on it honestly.
I have the DAV3 wired. It's perfect for my hand size (20cm) and my hybrid grip (Palm grip for general movement, Claw when tracking and Fingertip when controlling recoil).
A massive improvement in terms of comfort and ease of use after switching from the Glorious Model D.
Every category of tech product needs a Zy.
Based on my experience its big true palm grip mouse. Which in my experience is a dying breed in the current market. Even Razer shifted the design of the DA with the v3 to appeal more broadly.
My natural palm grip also puts the bump in the wrong spot. To correct this and really lock in the mouse you need to grip up further/higher. More of a top palm grip than a rear/behind palm grip. This also lifts the base of you palm completely up off the pad and lines the ring finger up right under and following that sharp ledge. I could see this particularly appealing to those that lock their wrist and fully aim with their arm.
I have about the same size hand as you, and tried using a superlight for almost and year and a half and had constant pain in my pinky because it was too small for me and although my aim was good, the comfort is the #1 most important to me. I switched to DAV3P and although I might not aim as well, it’s so much more comfortable for me. Gonna have to try the dex someday, but I wish Razer would just made the DAV3P lighter!!
It's 63 grams how much lighter do you want it to be?
@@julianmorgan79 I know it’s probably not possible but I’d really like for them to somehow make something in the 40 gram range without a bunch of holes. I love ultra lightweight mice for my aim but not for the comfort
@@bigman8733 consider the WLmouse the sword x it's about 47 grams, it's made of magnesium and has a 3950 sensor. I wanted it but I don't like the side cutouts in the mouse because it's an holed shell, which is fine but not on the side where my thumb needs to rest.
Why havent you done the op1 8k? Easily the best on the market right now.
i have it its too small for 18+ cm hands
@@HXISE Well, horses for courses, since the Op1 is so good i don't know i'm using it, i.e. it never feels like an impediment
5:46 I got around this in the original superlight by keeping the mouse in on-board memory mode (after configuring my default dpi and polling rates ofc)
I fell in love with the 703, which is what I’m currently using, thinking I found my mouse finally. I may have to try this just to see. Because I loved the super light but I couldn’t get comfortable with the ambi design. I need an ergo for my palm grip.
Honestly there's a bunch of other mice that aren't from Logitech, better quality too
Walt for the Pulsar X3, which basically is a G703 clone but half the weight. To be released this October.
This is nothing like a G703 shape-wise though, it's also nothing like an EC-styled ergo mouse, but it's an interesting take by Logitech regardless
image the logitech g500 shape but wireless and lightest
I think that many companies are aiming always for similar zowie ergo shapes
THE GOAT!!!!!!!! ( Meaning you RJN )
Hey mate.. about the Logitech DPI thing, I think if u use the Logitech Portable mouse settings software (I forgot its name) instead of their G Hub, it will fix the DPI upon waking the mouse thing, since the .exe portable software changes settings and saves them on the mouse directly, without going through G Hub at all. I'm only sure about that with Logitech GPX (1st superlight version), since I still use the mouse at work and I use the Portable software as well.
Have you tried Dav3 HyperSpeed? it's basically mini version of Dav3
Wait, it's a different size? Well that's confusing. Mouse companies need to do better with their names. I'll see if I can get one, thanks!
@@RocketJumpNinja Yep, I was also confused. It's slightly smaller and also much cheaper
@@RocketJumpNinja yeah I just tried a friends and was like what they heck this feels way better *confused look*. Its like a touch smaller than the EC2. Idk what Razer even thinks the HyperSpeed branding means anymore, so confusing! I did find the clicks rather slick finish wise but ordered one that night.
@@itsGeneral glad I wasnt the only one. The feet are largely improved as well.
one thing havent seeing you review is the mouse skeet Zy. i am currntly using superglide 2 on my GPWX and using ARTSAN mousepad meduim soft and it feels like getting stuck on the used parts of the mousepad. really want to see your opninon on mouse feets in general
I have been watching mouse videos on your channel for a long time. I will ask you a question. I have used a steelseries rival 300 mouse before. Which mouse would you recommend that is close to this? I have a newly purchased GPX DEX right now. I am looking for a light mouse for palm grip grip. I have a hand size of 20x10.Thank you
Great video - glad to see a return to quality for your mouse reviews, with a more in depth discussion of shape and how it affects aim mechanics. Hope this doesn't sound too harsh but many of your other recent reviews are dismal in comparison.
during the click sound part there's a really high pitched ringing noise, its not gonna matter too much as that section was short but i thought i should say anyway - also as i said i would "mum get the camera im in the vid" even tho its me falling off the map and typing umm aha 7:21
Never was a fan of g403/703 or DA though. I'd rather use Zowie EC or Vaxee E1 shape. To me for ergo the pinky side is more important over thumb, it should not feel too slippery when lifting or too rounded so not enough grip when moving to left faster. Also, definitely needs to have lower button height. I prefer symmetrical shapes for few reasons.
Could you test the Attack Shark X3 ? or Kysona M600 ?
I've found some interesting topics around those mices and would like your opinion. I'm considering to get one or two as a backup mouse since the price is really cheap for a 3395 sensor, but would love to get your input about the rest, especially for the price (most of the reviews are saying it's a great mouse, except the feet that are atrocious but if this is the only real complain for a 25 bucks mouse on Ali, I'll allow it).
Thanks for your work !
Still trying to catch up on others but if I get time and run out of these other mice to do, then yeah maybe!
Does the scroll wheel on your dex feel different / less tactile than on your superlight? Mine feels noticeably less tactile and its throwing me off
Any opinions on budget options of these mice? Like attack shark's M3, that's 5 times cheaper.
Did they fix the problem about the deathadder scroll wheel for not functioning properly after a year??
The only ergo shape I use for gaming is the Lamzu Thorn 4K. Bc it is small and light I don't feel strains in my wrist which I would have with DAV3 and SL2 Dex
I've just ordered myself a DA hyperspeed after finding out its a small DA shape
I would pick the DA as well between these two mice.
when you show the gameplay with the dex, it looks like the mouse is rotated ant-clockwise for quite some degree. maybe this rotation, which might be due to the bulge, is throwing your swipes off?
Nah I hold most mice on an angle, but yeah this one is clearly too big for my hand and grip, so it just felt hard to move/aim. If the angle was an issue, I wouldn't have got close with aiming, but the shots weren't missing by much.
I mostly play CS and I had a gpx 2 since march until a couple weeks ago I got a refund and preordered the Dex
list of mice i had:
OG G502
2x G903 (double click issue)
3x G502 lightspeed (double click issue)
Steelseries prime neo noir ( side button broke)
So gpx 2 isn't my usual shape. I got used to it mostly but I could always feel I wasn't completely comfortable with it. It felt too skinny I guess.
For me in the weeks leading up to refunding it I was experiencing quite a bit of discomfort on my wrist too.
My Dex finally arrived and instantly I knew the ergo shape was more suited towards me and the discomfort/pain stopped.
My grip is palm slight claw hybrid I guess and 20cm L 10cm W hands
19.7cm by 10.8 cm hands. Hybrid claw palm grip on dex. Works amazing compared to dav3pro. Amazing.
19X10 and same. love the dex. dav3pro was too big for me.
Maybe you should try the smaller DA V3 Hyperspeed.
i’ve got big hands, hope I get to try one soon
bottom looks like a 1.1.. and othrewise ec2 ish.. you see any similarity?
Hey, have you been keeping track of which mice you hold straight and which you hold rotated? It could also be the reason you are missing shots. You can fix this if you use RawAccel and change the rotation factor. I have to use positive 2 to correct the way i hold my ambi mice. This would allow you to remove another variable and compare mouse more accurately.
I find my brain adapts to however I'm holding it, so it's not like I feel like I'm not moving it in the right direction or anything... as you may see from that clip where I miss like 5 rails in a row... they're not far off, but at that level of Quake, you need to be fast and accurate, and accuracy being even slightly off like that will result in missed shots.
Did you get a chance to try the DAv3 hyperspeed?
Is the scroll wheel still going to shit after half a year? My most disappointing buy of the year.
After dipping my toes in mice rabbit hole, I just went back to 703, f'it, yeah it old and outdated, but I really like not having pain in my hand.
Ambidextrous mice without buttons on both sides are a waste of time.
You have a point...
i always thought the thumb button(s) on the opposite side would be a pain.
Ive had a lot of mice including the DAV3, my aim has never been better with this mouse though
I use logitech gaming software instead of g-hub, I think it is superior in almost every way, I don't know if it supports brand new mice though.
My hand size is 19.5 x 10cm. Would you recommend for my hand size. Are my hands medium or large ?
Woah asymetrical mouse from logitech, aint no way.
dex is very uncomfortable to use as an ergo user, if they just remaked their g403/g603 series then people would gladly buy them
review the op1k
personally havent had a good experience with any of the like 5-6 razer products ive owned
Personally I still think 403 is a better shape, It literally feels like an extension of my body. I switched to DA3pro a while ago, I got used to it but it just ain't the same. I have a 20cm hand btw
I feel the same honestly.
Dav3 wired vs pro?
Have you covered the spin-out issue of their Hero sensor?
That's still a thing? Why are they spinning out? I thought that was solved years ago...
@@RocketJumpNinja Yes it is. I've checked with other mouse reviewers, and it seems like spin out still occurs. After doing some research, it looks like the Hero sensor doesn't work well with certain mousepads, especially glass ones.
@@torr4334 tried changing the lift off distance? That's usually what causes it... calibrate with software.

nice review , tho, for my shreksized 23 cm+ long and 11cm+ wide hand only shape and size that could be named a fit and stil too small is ec1 by zowie, dav3 , rival 600, dav2 are just too small (prefer palm grip). also gues the same for lpxs2dex due to 125mm length, finaaly i play mostly with dav3 just because its latency around 1-2 ms if feelingly faster than zowie(or probably its due to weight). possible hints for this situation ? :) could not google any bigger than zowie with really fast responses razers have. (prefer wired, and yes for QL :))
5:47 You can fix this by using onboard memory
For me the Dav3 feels much bigger than the Dex
