  • Yep, I think it's great, but I did hit one problem as you'll see in the video.
But first let me give a shout out to Manny Ortiz, whose video showing this is what persuaded me to buy one. His idea of using it for holding a phone with a teleprompter app was genius as far as I'm concerned.
Of course you can just use your phone as a bigger monitor with this setup. You don't have to use it as a teleprompter, but it's pretty handy if you want to use it that way.
One thing I will say - and you'll be able to see in the demo part of the video - is that it's fairly obvious that you're looking down at the phone screen. I guess practice helps with that, but Manny actually talks about wearing sunglasses. Personally I think it looks weird to cover your eyes when talking into the camera - what do you think?
This little item was fairly cheap, for what it is. If you only ever handhold for vlogging then you wouldn't have a problem even if your copy had the fault mine did. But if you want to use it on a tripod, make sure you check out that tripod screw mount while you're in the refund period!
What do you think of the item? Would you use it in your vlogging, or other videos? I do like it, but I need to get a copy that doesn't have the same problem.

I can see you looking at the teleprompter instead of the camera. I hope there's a better teleprompter where you're looking at the camera.

I think it takes a little practice and certainly the phone is a bit lower than the lens, but on an average video I suspect the average viewer wouldn’t be paying super close attention to notice. Since this was about a teleprompter it does make people look more closely. I have an Ulanzi teleprompter that I use with my mirrorless camera. That one is really good.

@@mygoodstuffreviewed I have been researching for seamless teleprompter for Osmo Pocket 3 the way they make it in mirrorless cameras where you can look directly at the camera and still read without people noticing, -- not found one yet and yours is the closest one but not quite there yet; another vlog showed wearing a sunglass, not for me, though. Maybe there's no way to do it on Osmo Pocket 3, which would force me to buy a mirrorless camera just to get that seamless read via teleprompter.
Or may be you can try the Ulanzi on your Osmo? See how it works. It should work, right?
