- On February 19th, 2023 I did a quick overnight at Lena Lake. I had hoped to go over to Upper Lena Lake but I wasn't prepared for the amount of snow in the stretch up there. Plus, i was feeling a bit lazy. So I looked around for a good spot to camp, finally settling on the spot I camped in a few years ago.
It's a beautiful spot, particularly in the winter, as its quite accessible with a paved, maintained road to the trailhead, a well maintained trail and not hit too hard by snow in the winter. And you get the whole lake to yourself at night in the offseason.

love your camping vids so beautiful, nice and peaceful but it does looks cold brrrrr
It was a chilly one for sure.
So beautiful!💚
Watching this was a nice way to end my lunch break...and a reminder to get out camping before it gets too hot in Texas! I've only hiked in the Pacific Northwest a few times (Oregon), but it was an incredible experience each time. Thanks for sharing!
There’s probably lots of interesting places to explore in the desolate parts of Texas.
@@thecrankyvegan The way I look at the state: "At least we have the cooler parts of Austin and good geography!" 🤣 West Texas is cool and surreal...and the canyons in the panhandle are nice. East Texas has some creepy forests. Really, tame the heat and get rid of about half the people, and I'd want to stay!
Love love love so much
Beautiful! An amazing experience. Nature 💚 Thankyou for sharing Jake.
Beautiful! Gets me excited to start my AT thru hike in 2 weeks.
This was like a meditation video for me, thanks Jake!❤
Thank you for taking us along :) I live atm in a country with overcrowded cities and barely any decent forests, so I miss the lonesome, quiet woods, can't wait to go back to my native country with lots of woodland and less ppl
this is the closest you got to a 3 minute thursday in years!
hahaha I've come so far...
Gorgeous place. What a wonderful adventure.
Thanks! it was a good escape.
Looks like a stunning location especially at certain times of day, definitely looked cold though glad you wrapped up well. Great video thanks for sharing.🌱🌅🍀
My soul needs something like this trip about now
I really enjoy your backpacking videos. I need to start stealing your style
haha.
I'm just tryin' to keep up with you!
Beautiful scenery! Any bears in those hills?
Definitely bears up here, but I didn't see any! I think the biggest animal I saw besides humans was a bald eagle.

After years on RUclips, are you ready to rethink your strategy yet? Or are you going to be stubborn and assume that you’re always 100% correct?
