I'm a lease driver and sometimes I feel like I'm being screwed. But after watching this, I understand more of both side of the coin. It's an eye opener that I think all leasee need to see and understand.
Sorry to hear and see about this bossman. You are an amazing person who looks out for the driver. Sad fact that you have to change your good faith. You will recover and I personally hope for nothing but the best for you and your carrier!
Dam this sucks, your a good guy helping in many ways and a POS does this to you! Wow, sorry it happen to you. I’ve learned so much from you hard to believe someone did this
I always wondered if there was a “moneyball” type approach to finding good drivers. Like hes got bad work history, bad credit, no money for down payment, dui, speeding tickets and violations but…. He asked about the coolant age, brought a tire pressure gauge, and has 2 pens in his shirt pocket… sign him !
What I would strongly suggest you to do, is to credit check every guy you're leasing you equipment to, good credit and a saved up money for down payment are huge indicators of somebody's moral, credit, body and mental hygiene. Person with those 2 requirements probably doesn't shit and piss in the bag. The content from the mentioned bag that left your truck is worthless and he will live his life like a rat until he dies. He'll get nowhere and you'll get over it. You're great guy and thanks for exposing your hard times while teaching us a lesson as well.
Positive note, you got the equipment back $$$ I made the mistake of trusting the wrong folks, lost a dry van, a truck, and about 50k all told. It could always be worse. I learned my lesson though.
Yeah DIY semi when I was driving I saw a lot of crap like that I don’t get it the cab space & sleeper area that is your personal working and living enviroment your atmosphere DOT inspections they use to nail drivers for cab clutter and unsanitary bunk it all comes down to safety & health for yourself & co driver if you have one it can affect your work performance and mental & physical health When I drove I had the privrledge of some brand new tractors an I - H 9400 an FLD 120 an Mack R model an GMC 9500 Brigadier an Ford L - 9000 and I always kept them immaculate just like the day I got them I even left the plastic covers on the seats I never ate in them and I’m not a smoker and I properly operated them proper warm up & shut down procedure proper shifting technique tried my best to advoid bad holes and bumps in the pavement & I never speed over R.R. Crossings always kept truck washed & detailed In Cab I kept my Cab inside the way my Dad did and the way the Boston trucker does if you have ever seen any of his videos
At SFI I put $12k down and I got $13k back after 3 years with interest if you can’t put any money down you aren’t serious enough stay company and save your money
People make fun of these companies that are smaller asking for 2500 in escrow… I have no problem doing that and they help me with repairs if I am short… it works for both of us.: been with this company almost 5 years.. started at them charging 10% with 2500$.. gone up to 12%and I’m still making good money ❤❤
If you are still leasing freightliners in January or February of next year, I will have a decent down payment and whatever you need to feel comfortable financially for me to drive for you..
C'mon man, take the wisdom of your own shirt: trucking don't care about your feelings, I know you have a good heart but on business only numbers count, that's why we can't go with the flow when drivers are winning and crying because they're a bunch of them that are just a entitled brats. Wish you the best man, it was his lost
It's a shame driver's just don't give a shit anymore I had 25 truck's years ago got rid of them all except one that I drive myself I know what your going through it sucks
Ill say it....the driver f'ed you, and as a long time watcher and relatively new driver still, this angers me a lot. Your a great fella, i hope this doesnt happen to you again. You dont deserve it. Your a good dude

That sucks, man. Sorry to see that happen.
Wow. Sorry to see this happen to ya Adam
Probably going to be closer to 15K when all is said and done..
I get the feeling that you are about to fully embrace Chicago style lease to own program.
lol...Not gonna go that far!
Freaking savages 🍻🇺🇸
CYA brother 😮
I keep $5000 in my escrow with the company I'm lease on with for maintenance and anything else and $100 a week for plates
I was thinking about getting into the trucking business. Maybe I should reconsider.
lol...too late for you sir!
So sorry to hear that😮
thanks
Let's hope this is a isolated case and it never happens again
Lysol first, then air freshener. Sorry you are having to deal with this. Gotta be more than a few honest people left.
i guess it'll happen now and then
If you are still leasing freightliners in January or February of next year, I will have a decent down payment and whatever you need to feel comfortable financially for me to drive for you..
Are you going to require a walk around video of your equipment
say every 2 weeks to keep an eye on your equipment
I've put everything on 90 day inspections. Apparently not enough
Good candidate for a Mississippi truck wash!!!
Maybe 2
Sounds like that driver is a fan of CashisKing and the USh1tBag lifestyle.

You lease purchase to animals now? Damn son!
What garbage dumpster did you find that driver in? Lol
